I pray to God to bless me with wisdom as a mother. Recently I started praying to bless me with wisdom as a mother and a wife. He has heard my prayer and started working on my heart and perspective. God is faithful.
Thank you! Married for 37+ years, and STILL relevant ... when my husband and I were planning our retirement, I was really insistent about getting counseling to fix our communication before we were together 24/7. Wish I had known about this book (getting it now!) And chocolate with bacon - AMAZING!
I think this is one of the reasons why I have a deep interest in communication. And it begins in the home of upbringing & the generations before. Communicating from the spouse's perspective is something to keep in mind. It's one thing to know all about what to do and the other is putting into practice. I've been married 30 years and there is still things that can be improved on. I'm here looking for solutions.
I would love to have conversations with my husband, but he is not much of a talker, or there are no issues, or he does not have time, and he is busy, and I feel lonely and shut down .. there is so much more to this ...and it is heartbreaking
Dr. "Bacon"😆.....this is absolutely correct in so many ways. My husband and I, yes, have major communication issues. Typical, he is the clam, I am the crow bar. We are in the wilderness now, and communication is improving. And I have to say that both of us would sometimes see death as a better option over marriage🤣. Yes, how the 3 steps are described DOES sound exhausting even to me! Obviously God knew what He was doing when He saw man and thought it not good that he be alone. God could have created all of us women to be mute and love cars and airplanes. 🤣 Obviously men need to have someone he is accountable to, who is there to help and to address relationships on a deeper level. After all, the God we serve is pretty deep. Otherwise the Bible would be an easy manual that just covered tools & automobile parts.😆 If a man struggles in opening up and being vulnerable with his spouse, he probably will be that way with his Savior, who desires a much deeper level of fellowship. 😉 Just sayin'. 😁Note for Hubby: love ya babe!😉💋 Follow up note: 😆 My husband disagrees about he and I being in the wilderness. So that goes to show one that we definitely don't think the same.😉 I wouldnt want to see what HIS wilderness for us would look like😳
Lisa P. you may have been joking "see death as a better option over marriage" I see this statement as 100% true for me and 37 years into a life sentence I could not agree more.
@@longredroad4249 I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope someone in the church can maybe spend some time talking with you? God wants you to have a beautiful marriage. I will pray for your mate to soften his/her heart and desire to draw closer to the Lord. If they do, then your marriage will start to see small signs of a marriage that God desires to see. I have been thru Hell in my marriage. Most would have left. The bitterness and anger that God speaks of in His Word, and it defiling me...caused ME issues in turn. But thank the Lord, if we strive to seek God's face, He will speak to us through His Holy Spirit and will take us away from that bitterness and anger, and return us back to the fruits of His Spirit. Big hugs to you. I will pray
@@longredroad4249 lol....yes, I agree. But I dont lower them below what God expects, (in other words, some things are unacceptable, ya know. 😉) I have learned to give more grace, understanding, and forgiveness. I still sometimes wanna take a ball bat out, and I dont mean so he can go "play ball." Lol. Kidding. Prayers
"Why do men die eight years before their wives? - because they want to.." 😂😂😂😂😂 David, David, David (Ps: I always wanted to marry a quieter man, but it appears he's the crow bar and I'm more of the clam!)

Hi Cheryl, just wanted to respond as we have similar names 😁
He is right about when a man gets it right and makes the woman feel loved, that love will flow back to them 1,000%.
I think this is one of the reasons why I have a deep interest in communication.
And it begins in the home of upbringing & the generations before.

I'm glad there was a cavet of sometimes the woman or sometimes the man...My wife is the clam and I'm the crowbar.
Thankyou for sharing
I’m the crowbar for sure. Thank you!

thanks for the note,
sometimes lowering exceptions is the key to survival.

How did he clean himself for 2 weeks w just a sliver of soap?? Pride will make you dirty, in more ways than one! 🤣
Hahaha I thought the exact same hahaha
He said he was using shampoo or whatever else and wouldn't replace the bar
Sometimes, I am the clam
Other times, I find myself being the crowbar
FOF does advance one harmful narrative. That men won't talk and women always will. Often, it is the other way around and it should be considered.
yes, a red flag of a more traditional, patriarchal viewpoint.
That is something that Christ Himself did not portray in the Bible.
There are many many many women clam and guy crow bar. Women seem to be a tighter clam then men too ( when they are the clam) my case.
Hi sir
"Why do men die eight years before their wives? - because they want to.." 😂😂😂😂😂
David, David, David
(Ps: I always wanted to marry a quieter man, but it appears he's the crow bar and I'm more of the clam!)
I guess I am the one guy who actually married and was divorced by his ex wife that was a claim. Completely shut off in many ways.
India
Ladies remember, this doesnt work with a narcissist!!!
I have recently learned that I’m a female clam..!
How about a can opener instead of crowbar 😆
A bit presumptuous "Don't worry, the wife will talk "
Ok ironic..you three men are talking deep here
clams love peace
no woman know peace.
Wow 😂
