Bear advice I can give is to write something that you would want to read. Also make sure to set up your universe rules on how the zombies work and stick to them. And if you hit a snag, I'm always here to answer any questions you have!

I know.. Those first few days of Zombie mayhem are the best.
When they all start settling down to surviving it tends to be less about the Zombies & mayhem & more about the characters day to day existence.... I WANT ZOMBIE MAYHEM.!! 👍 👍 👍
@@alantaylor353 trust me Alan, I'm all about the Zombie mayhem! I think in the 91+ books I've done in this series, I've had maybe 2 books that are mostly talk (and it's been at the end of major arcs to check in with the government to show the overall picture and setting up the major things for the next books). There will be a fair amount of human mayhem as well, just for good measure!

Ok its been 10 months since I listened to this series in Dead America. This is my 3rd time listening to Low Country. Its definitely my favorite.
You know, I think Lowcountry is my favorite as well as far as series goes. My favorite standalone book is Operation Bismarck. Who doesn't love cowboys vs zombies?

As much as I enjoy your stories 👍, I am having trouble getting past the Brish reader's accent. I used to live in the Low Country and his accent is killing me. At one point he made Ace sound Australian! Please keep the stories coming though.......I'm trying!

I'm loving the Dante character
He is one of my favorites. Wrote him for a friend of mine actually. They are in an advocacy group for people with facial deformities who advocate for better media representation. Basically every time someone has a facial injury/scar, they're a bad guy. So I wrote Dante like this to be a hero. I realize I'm small time, but it was something I could do.

Good story. But why is it that in the very first outbreak, in the first few hours, all cell service, all tv, radio and computer services are down? Most of those media are manned 24 hours a day, and it seems to me that it would be really, really unlikely that all the people in all of the media would succumb that quickly. If anything, reporters would be climbing over each other to be the first to report it over the air or online. Yet in these books, we never see characters watching scenes of reporters being attacked or see online footage uploaded online. Can you imagine a zombie outbreak not being filmed by hundreds of people? It seems to me that it would take days for media to shut down or be abandoned.
While I can admire Dante's compassion, I question his intelligence. He should be concerning himself with saving his sister and himself---no one else. And why, exactly, did anyone think that retreating to an area that is under the control of a bunch of hardened mercenaries, who are known for war crimes, was a good idea? Now, I could see if they were cops, or state troopers, or real soldiers, then you might have a fairly good chance of them being the good guys. But mercenaries? Especially when your group includes two young, beautiful women? Dante has second thoughts just too dammed late. And why the hell did Dante grab Bailey when he jumped from the bridge, instead of his sister?
In most populated areas, the attacks began overnight. All it would take is a single infected person turning at work to take thst station out.
However in some of the books and standalone stories there are some instances of radio and TV being active for a bit.
I'm all for tropes but this goes too far. I'm 40 in and the story is really just going through the motions like someone keeps tapping the next suggested word on autocomplete.
The accent of the narrator also jars badly with the location of the setting. Sorry but it is what it is. I'm out.

Minor spoiler alert: They don't stay running zombies for very long. They start to break down within a day or two, turning into slow zombies. So stick with it, I promise if you like zombies you'll like this series.

These stories are very good and so so so much better for a male narrator. Female narrators are hopeless with this genre.Nothing personal but for some reason they just don't come over well and cannot come close to a male voice.
While I do like the job PJ did with the series, Aaron is quite good. And the British accent brings a sense of class to the zombie mayhem haha. Appreciate you listening!
