92 Mustang GT gets a SN95 alternator upgrade

If you have a fox body you know the alternator from the factory is not very good. You can use an alternator from an SN95. It will take a little work like cutting off a section of the bracket and switching out wires. I have to say having everything the car can on with the new alternator doesn't really even phase it where before it would drop the gauge really low and make me nervous. Where them wires with the eyelets that’s where I would go with the big 0 gauge wire want all the volts🦾

Ha ha ....my 90 gt fox...voltage runs low 10 v. Havent had any Issues.. But i've been driving it like that 4 years.. But I do notice That is looking for more... Power..... L o l..

I bought a Ultima 80 amp alternator man tryna get an oem at O'Reilly's. And I know it has to be the weak alternator cus I got a new battery but for some reason it don't charge right or something I let it sit for 30 mins fires right up. Do you think I should upgrade my alternator brotha need guidance I'm new to the fox game💯
PS. Don't buy to much at O'Reilly's hahaha

My 91 gt has a 9 inch alternator however i noticed the sn95 is an 8 inch, how did you get around that

You have to do the 4 gauge power wire upgrade too

Working on this , I currently have an SN95 engine in my car with fox body intakes and other engine mods, only thing I kept from the SN95 is all the pulley system (Drive) , I want to install AC but seems like a pain in the a** because id have to use the SN95 A/C diagram and I want to keep the drive 90's so it all matches up for the most part. Did you guys have any issues with the SN95 alt pulley lining up with the fox bodys pulleys ? thanks !

Not one problem but this might have been made for a fox using the sn95 alternator.

I just did the same upgrade last week on my car the only difference was that I didn’t use the orange and black wires from the stock D plug I just capped them off due to them being a fire hazard as everyone says. But I could already tell the difference since I have a stereo system on my car the voltage doesn’t drop much like it used to with the stock alternator. Great work keep it up 👍
