Questions grow among politicians over motives behind nationwide campus protests

President Joe Biden, criticized for not addressing the nationwide college protests that have crippled some campuses for weeks, made his most extensive comments Thursday.
"This isn't a moment for politics. It's a moment for clarity. So let me be clear, peaceful protest in America, violent protest is not protected, peaceful protest is, it's against the law when violence occurs," the President said in remarks not originally scheduled.
President Biden condemned antisemitism associated with the nationwide anti-war protests that have become increasingly aggressive in the past week.
