- after finding out i could animate in clip studio, i proceeded to spend the past 3 weeks making this and learning after effects in a night so thats fun
might post another animation process laters
Fun thing about zane’s sense of humor: he’s actually canonically pretty old (don’t remember his exact age) so his sense of humor is just fuckin ancient, and only jay probably got it cuz his parents are pretty old themselves
during the sky pirate season, Jay stumbles upon Retro Zane in the lighthouse Zane's creator was locked in.
Retro Zane was an older model that has a clockwork feeling to his appearance.
No, not true. Echo Zane is actually younger than our Zane! Since he was built while Dr. Julien was trapped at the lighthouse, which occured sometime after Zane's memory switch was originally flipped off. Echo is just not as well crafted@@glitchout_303
@@glitchout_303The clockwork Zane was actually built by his father as a replacement since he was stuck in the lighthouse. It looks old because it was cobbled together with any spare parts Dr.Julian could find.

Jay's laughter looks more natural on the 2d format.
Probably because smaller smiles/ laughter or just laughter in general is a lot easier to capture on a 2d format because you can just change the frame a little whereas 3d can look a little weird with slight movement unless it’s professional. Like as in detailed models + quality programme professional

This is so great, it's just straight up amazing! Everyday I dream of what Ninjago would look like in 2D and animators/artist like you get that dream as close to reality as it can get! Thank you so much for making this and please dude, I just have to see more!

I feel like some parts would be okay in 2-D, but I think I prefer 3-D better for a Lego.

I remember being so freaked out by this episode XD. Partially because Zane being a robot was such a shock and also because him dancing like that was so unnatural XD. You did a great job on the animation and I think Ninjago would look great if it were animated in Monkie Kid style :D
i think him having autism would've been better. before the reveal, a lot of autistic kids including me, related to him.

Oh my word, I _LOVE_ this. It’s so cool to see them in this sort of animation style, I wish we could see more of Ninjago with Monkie Kid’s amazing 2D animation, even if it was just for one episode! This is really smooth!!
Besides, the fact that it looks amazing I hope that the 2023 ninjago reboot is 2d animated. I really like the 3d animation on the original show but 2d is always my favourite and I hope that lego does more 2d animation takes on their properties

This episode’s story has lived rent-free in my head ever since I watched it, and I only ever saw it once. That was how memorable it was.

This is AMAZING! I'd love to see someone like Scales or maybe the Skull Sorcerer animated in this style, since I feel he'd fit in Monkie Kid
i remember 9 year old me watching zane dance thought it was the funniest thing of the century
but for real this was animated beautifully!! the art style captured their expressions and the LMK style very well!
