- Find out why you should stay in this gorgeous, affordable house on the Kenyan coast - it is a piece of paradise.
Neem Tree sits on the northern end of the Kuruwitu Marine Conservancy in Vipingo, some 40 km north of Mombasa. This laid back family home is very private and secure, set in almost 2 acres with a mature garden at the front of the house shaded by the two huge neem trees that gives the house its name. It sleeps 8 people in 3 spacious bedrooms, all ensuite, with fans and air conditioning. The master bedroom comes with a double bed and a cosy TV (has an HDMI cable and an Amazon firestick) or study nook, the guest bedroom with a double bed and a sofa whilst the bedroom at the back of the house is ideal for the kids, with 2 single beds, a bunk bed and a small TV and DVD player.
The stunning 6 x 12 metre infinity pool overlooks the ocean and is complimented by a large dining/sitting room/ chill-out area. The resident chef Reuben is ready to cook up a storm for you using fresh fish and sea food from the local fisherman if thats your thing, otherwise he has a wide and varied repertoire to suit almost every dietary requirement. Karisa, who handles the pool, garden and maintenance is happy to do your shopping if you don’t want to do it yourself and Pili looks after the housekeeping and is great with kids if you need a babysitter.
The rooftop area is a great spot for adults to relax and play darts or the family to play board games. Spot turtles at high tide from one of the two decks just above the ocean or even from the swimming pool! The ‘sundowner deck’, situated off to the side on the steps down to the beach, is a very special spot to toast the moon as it rises out of the sea.
Kuruwitu marine conservancy is an internationally acclaimed initiative and its literally on the doorstep! Snorkel right off the beach and take in the stunning marine ecosystem or take a guided reef walk with the knowledgable conservancy staff. Alternatively you can take a stroll down to the fabulous Vipingo Ridge Beach Bar.
The PGA branded golf course at Vipingo ridge is only a ten minute drive away and there are a myriad of activities available there including horse-riding and mountain biking. Additional water sports opportunities, such as water-skiing, wake-boarding, sailing, deep sea fishing and scuba diving can be arranged through 3 Degrees South at Mnarani Hotel and kite-surfing is possible with Salty’s, both in Kilifi, a pleasant 25 minute drive away. Sunset dhow rides on Kilifi Creek with Captain Shallo are another favourite and not to be missed.
This is one of the most unspoilt areas on the Kenya coast (no beach boys or vendors to interrupt you as you walk or play), there are unbelievable views from the property and lots of chill out spots to make your own:). Welcome to Paradise!
