I am a Mario main, and I don’t play quick play and I don’t teabag unless they are toxic, however, I do like a good old classic forward aerial

Fun fact. Tom Fakes made 1 that uses the same mechanic. The Meteor blast zone. Uptown Dunk. But it has 2 moving platforms rotating around. This is more akin to final destination but only the meteor blast zone exists. Tom made his a while back.

Could you get rid of the gap in the wall by putting a small wall section on a rail like the lava?
There's a glitch in stage builder that allows solving this actually! When i stumbled upon this idea a few years ago, i realized that zigzags can get really big if squished down
a rail could work too, but having two sections of wall tends to lead to more glitches in my experience

Probably just me, but I enjoy way more the Questionable Beefs that use straight up creativity that anybody can do than the ones with mods.
I agree with you, I'm actually kind of bummed out that they shifted to mods, not that I hate those, it's just that I enjoy the creative ones way more.
I think the mods route is probably because of how many they did and how options are getting limited in normal smash

@@ttmabyt7710 I think Marth and Lucina’s are even harder, maybe even Palu’s, because they dont have multiple jumps. Pit can at least keep going with more dairs since he has multiple jumps (btw I am an 8-year Pit main so I would know a thing or three about him lol)
Why is C5 so bad at picking characters for the Bo5s? It’s like he forgets all of the games they play during the start of the video.

Can you make lava walls do the same as the bottom blastzone and only kill in hitstun and otherwise save you? That'd be a cool concept just a lava box stage.

Man I tried making a stage like this when stage builder first came out but I never thought anyone it would enjoy it cuz theres no real incentive to play on the actual stage lol. Shoulda thought of using lava on the bottom.
If you make the stage a platform (semi solid) so that you don't get stage spiked but you can go down through it to spike your opponent
An interesting idea for a twist on this would be to remove the platform and just keep bouncing on the lava, only killing opponents with spike hitboxes. You could have a respawning platform occasionally to give players the opportunity to get their jump back as well
This wouldn't work because when the spawned stage falls, it won't disappear, it'll just stay on the lava.
@@Jushico12 it could be a platform on tracks that appear from the side, or from the little holes in the bottom left/right of the stage
There are already custom stages completely boxed in with wormholes or cannons on the top to enable entry but not exit
This is actually great practice for those of us who struggle landing Meteor Smashes
G&W has a spike. I think the characters that don't have a spike are: Pac-Man, Wario, Lucario, Bowser Jr, Meta Knight, Sora, Jigglypuff, Squirtle, Peach & Daisy (their d-tilts maybe spike offstage?), Sopo, Young Link and Fox. Maybe there are more, but I can't think of them rn.
@@jazyzamp3056 It only did in Melee. However, Link's and Toon Link's dairs work this way.
Really cool idea, and really cool Video 👍 Just wanted to mention, that Game & Watch has a spiking hitbox on His downair, but only in the First attack Frame. Also the 4 of his hammer knocks the Enemy down, When used in air, but ist needs very high procents to kill with That

The spike blast zone is higher than the normal one? I never knew that. I always looked at myself getting spiked and thought "it's no way I died from that I've recovered from lower than that before" like I've seen my character just spawn out of existence from a spike that shouldn't have killed me. But if spikes have a separate blast zone that makes so much sense. Why would they do that?
The craziest thing is that there was a demonstration with Fox getting spiked and he died from the higher spike blastzone from 0% -14%, but LIVED from 15% to 40%. And at +40% he dies again... It also has to do with the character being in tumble animation or not
There was this game on Xbox (Def Jam) that I loved to play because of its KO mechanic: you couldn't win by landing a weak blow that chipped away the remaining HP. Instead, you'd be put in a state where any powerful or flashy move could KO you. After a bit of time, you'd be put out of that state if you managed to survive.
That mode reminds me of that. I wanted to see so badly a smash mode where you have to land a good blow to win. This is amazing!

@@meta04 No. Smash has little mac, ganondorf, doc, roy, chrom, ike... So many characters you can gimp: in smash, for those characters, being hit offstage by the weakest move often means death.
As always, music selection is absolutely on point.
I suggested something similar to this awhile back, but this one is cooler since it takes the blast zone into account. Cool map, I didn’t even think of that!

This one was a great episode! I prefer this kind of QB's way more than the mod ones. I just don't enjoy mods as much.

@@Shady_Fungus Kazuya has one good spike but it's hard to hit and the other is a baby spike that won't really work in this mode
Donkey Kong has 3 easy to hit spikes and 1 baby spike that won't work in this mode

Ok. 1st. ITS NOT SPIKES! Spikes drag the enemy down with the player. Those kills are METEOR SMASHES! There is a difference. There is a stage spike. Where u bounce the enemy off the underside of the stage. But at the end of the day. Its not a spike. Its a meteor smash. Not too many characters have actual spikes. But plenty have meteor smashes. The fact that there are spirits dedicated to throwing and meteor(hoopa unbound for example). Yeah it's meteor smashes. Sonic shiek ZSS captain falcon corrin ganondorf and bowser all have a spike using either down air or down special. Serveal characters recovery technically spike. Dedede. Kirby. Ike. Mii Brawler. Mii Swordsman. Cloud. Pyra. Chrom. All of these characters have a RECOVERY that spikes...though DeDeDes also works as a meteor outright.
Spikes is a drag down move. Meteor smash is the 1 with downward momentum on the enemy without risking the player.
2nd. I'm curious as to when meteor smashes started being called spike. My guess is sometime during smash 4.
Those last 2 games were both so hype

As a Riddles fan and Shoto player myself, its sad to see when you're really good with a character but the only thing that made you lose was a misinput, whether from the game or player error.
Kirby could really Excel in this mode, he has 2 Spikes can use stone to protect himself from getting spiked
His up b spike is very weak and would only work on the bottom. His down air also only spikes at around like 135-150 percent.though the lava would help with damaging them enough for Kirby's down air to spike.

I've always wanted to ask, why not you Smash down whenever you guys play matches where used characters get eliminated? xD
The Diddy-ganon matchup is indeed very rough, his only tools that really get diddy out of rushdown mode, are up air and jab and heavier reads in down tilt nair and ftilt. Most heavier reads and punishes can be out-framed and out-spaced easily by diddy and monkey flip has weird interactions with up and side b making them way less safe to use.
off topic, but I wonder how Sora would fair in this mode with ladder combos, given he doesn't have a raw meteor or spike.
