The Maids have a surplus of energy. They played an 18-song set at a different venue in Chicago that finished at @1am, the morning of this hour-long set, which started at 1:45pm. Then I saw them live 2 days later in a sold-out show in Minneapolis where they played 19 songs. 🤘
I was able to experience this song combo with the MISA-Kanami conversation live, and it was epic! The performance of this combo was done at their largest show to date, well over 10,000 people in the crowd, at the Yokohama Arena, and I hope it gets uploaded as the official version, as it shot properly and the sound is stellar!
@@ShikataGaNai100 don't want to disappoint you, but the way Yokohama was setup (a third behind the scene, plus the runway ) it can hold around 13K or something similar and the show wasn't sold out. BAND-MAID: ‘An impossibly hard rocking maid band.’ Saiki-lead vocals. ‘Ice Queen’ Akane-drums. ‘Gorilla’ Misa-bass. ‘Barefoot Assassin’ Kanami-lead guitar, songwriter. ‘Mincho’. The songs originate with Kanami then the band will arrange them together. Miku-rhythm guitar, backing vocals, lyricist. ‘Small Pigeon’. Miku founded the band in 2013 with the idea of playing rock music while wearing maid clothes to create a contrast. She didn’t know how to play guitar when she started the band. Kanami is her sensei. Fans of BM are Maidiacs. I proudly bear that moniker.
This is a band where every member is an integral part of their sound: bassist, drummer, guitarists and vocalists all contribute equally to the sound. Band-Maid has a HUGE library and many are live performances. The Maids know their way in the studio - they self produce their output, but once they take a song on tour, they just keep making it better. Their drummer, Akane Hirose, says she really doesn't truly get a feel for a song until she's playing for an audience. These are my favorites: "Puzzle" at Tokyo Garden Theater, the live performances of "Domination", "Play", and "Freedom". "Alone", "Moratorium", and "Cross". The instrumentals "Onset" and "From Now On". Or just hit BAND-MAID's YT channel and play songs at random, you can't go wrong.
Band-Maid is one of the best hard rock bands in the world ! For more great live performances please check out "Play" Official Live or "Freedom" Live ! Thanks Great Reaction =)
Unfortunately, the Lalapaloza camera director really blew it on this one! Missing Misa's bass solo AND Kanami's guitar solo in Dice is unacceptable!😔 The Maids, of course, absolutely killed it!🫶 So much more Band-Maid to check out, but here's another all female Japanese band to put on your radar. They're called Nemophila. Start with Revive or Dissension!
The maids refer to their concerts as "servings" and their fans as "masters and princesses", so it's nice that you're a little dressed up for the reaction 😁. I'd recommend the song Puzzle live or From Now On (an instrumental) by them, but you can't go wrong with any song on their channel.
I have seen all the great bands, Stones, Van H, Rush, AC/DC, Kiss, Nugent, Yes, Zappa, J Giles, REO, Styx, ect. BandMaid takes me right back to those days and one for one are probably a more gifted sisterhood of musicians. Can't wait to see them again.
The Lollapalooza Technical Director was consistently behind on selecting the right camera on this shoot, either that or he fell in love with Akane and her drumming, which is understandable. They call themselves Hard Rock. But Metal is among their many influences. They are no respecters of genres. Some have called them a Punk band with no boundaries. However, since you seem to lean more towards Metal I'd suggest 'Black Hole', 'Different' or 'Rinne'. Very Metal.
Hi man...for start..Band- Maid are: Saiki (the ice queen) : vocals Miku Kobato (the old pigeon 810 years old): Second guitar Kanami Tono (Mincho): Lead guitar Misa (the barefoot assasin): Bass Akane (queen of thunder ) : drums more the 130 songs to recommend...but my are: Puzzle live, Freedom Live, I'll, Warning, Domination Live, Unfair game, After life...wel for start
Rinne, From Now On, Domination, Thrill, Onset, to name a few..... (Thrill was their first "hit" in Japan, sort of saved the band from the record company dropping them.) The rest is wonderful history, they don't make a bad song, not one.
Nice, Welcome to Band-Maid!!!! You have a catalog of about 140+ songs from over a 10 year period to choose from. And no matter what direction you go in I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Just do not mistake them for a Metal band or you will end up disappointed. They are a Progressive Hard Rock Band with elements of Metal, Funk, Punk, Power Pop and Jazz. Whose musical arch is akin to the Beatles (not in sound, but progression) starting with Love Me Do and eventually evolving to Rocky Raccoon. Their more recent releases being starkly more aggressive in sound. I believe that by the end of their career they will have created and brought forth a new color to music altogether. But I digress. You've got a ton of songs to choose from and none of them will steer you wrong so long as you're willing to listen without prejudice. Welcome to the Pigeon Hole (You'll get it eventually) Welcome to Band-Maid!

This is my first look at you and I thought you were quite good so I subscribed. Have you done NEMOPHILA yet because they are great and as well as their own songs they are renowned for their covers and have just released an EP of their last 4 covers and one new song of their own. I won't drone on because you probably have done NEMOPHILA. As for BAND-MAID they have well over 100 songs and some of their old songs are really good. SHAKE THAT FREEZER KEY BEFORE YESTERDAY ARCADIA GIRL and then the famous songs like PUZZLE BLOOMING THRILL REAL EXISTENCE ( LIVE WITH SUBTITLES) CHOOSE ME and the newer songs WARNING ABOUT US( a mournful song about separation as a result of covid) UNLEASH SPARK WHY WHY WHY And Don't forget the acoustic songs including the acoustic version of Puzzle especially when followed by Anemone. Lots and lots to do. They also released a song under the name BAND MAKO and Miku has a band called Cluppo. Peace and love is a good song. 🇦🇺 Australia is watching 👀 👀
Just a stupid question, do you say how talented a male group is every time you see them on stage? Or only with the women? Or are the men not talented enough that you have to mention it? The young ladies from Japan are more talented on stage than the young men, especially the western ones.
All you have to do is go through my reactions, and you'll see I say it quite a bit for totally/predominantly male bands, too. I find this rather short-sighted. It doesn't matter if a person is male, female, black, white, gay, straight: a good musician transcends all of that. It doesn't matter what political elders or religious views you have. It doesn't matter how much money you have or who you sleep with. Let's leave the division out of it.
