I have always loved learning both physics and medicine but I chose physics as a field to pursue. My heart aches to work in the field of medicine, to make a change and make lives much much better and this video definitely made me even more motivated to pursue a career in medical physics! Thank you!
Good evening. I have done my honours in Physics and on my time of study I took a project in medical Physics and I had a good experience particularly how the the LINAC work. I was wondering if it is possible as a physics student to become LINAC engineer?
Medical Physicist is just what I want to be. I have a BSc degree in Biomedical Engineering but cannot afford my fees to study abroad. Please advice me on how to make this dream a reality Thank you
Hii I am medical physicist from INDIA. First of all thanks for video 🙏 I want to pursue phd in medical physics. I have already done masters in same. Please guide me how should I go ahead. I commented many others, no one replied but I feel you will reply
Are you wanting to apply to the States? If so, aim for CAMPEP approved Medical physics programs. There are many. You can even see them listed here: www.campep.org/campeplstgrad.asp
Medical physics would probably be the more general course where you would study imaging, radiotherapy, etc and doesn’t necessarily involve (dangerous) radiation (ie ultrasound) whereas I imagine medical radiation physics would be focused on radiotherapy and imaging modalities that use radiation
i'm very interested in medical physics. i feel like it's my passion and it's my dream job to do clinical work in that field. unfortunately i'm from the middle east and i can't afford the master's tuition fees abroad:/
Maroun, that's very understandable. Apart from applying to a Masters program, you can also apply to a PhD program where tuition is free. The research that you are involved in as a PhD candidate will develop and establish your career( esp if you stay in the same field). So there are options.
@@pratikshiyekar5583 hello. thank you and of course i'll do the same. i've been looking for programs in France.. they have low tuition fees and most universities offer scholarships. the thing is the programs are taught in French..
It can be if you do not take the right precautions. We do the calculations for our shielding designs to ensure we are getting minimal dose. We also check them afterwards. We also regularly monitor our body dose to ensure we are within safe limits. Follow the correct procedures and you are very safe.
@@dsboss206 We always work to ensure our limits are "As Low As Reasonably Achievable". So take External radiation therapy for example--all workers are shielded to very safe limits( i.e when working with a linear accelerator). If working with radioactive sources, one must take extra precautions to ensure reasonable time, distance, and shielding from the source.
@@CancerZappersbyAba I have always had this doubt of pursing medical physics, my dad is very scared for me bcos of this particular reason, hopefully I will convince him and pursue my dream.

It is always so wonderful to hear stories like this. I wish you the best Amruta, and I hope to visit India once things settle down again :)
@@CancerZappersbyAba Thank you! Wish you the best too! ❤️
Hello Amruta
Videos like this are so helpful. I was unable to start school this year, but I hope to go back soon to pursue this career one day 🤞🏾
As a LINAC engineer… I like what Medical physicist do… I love there work… Great Job…

Verry interesting Video. I will start this winter with the master in medical physics .
Wishing you all the best :)
thank you so much, this is just what I was looking for!
Thank you, I'm in my first year of medical physicist training
You're welcome Sandra! Thanks for subscribing :)

Thank you
God bless you for this video😭
I want to study medical physics the only problem is where I can't even afford application fees for international students
I want to pursue this industry my question is what academic should one take in community college
So informative... Keep the good work up :)
This was so helpful. Thanks
I’m a physics student
I’m still in my HND but I want to go for medical physics after my HND
Pls I need you to guide me🙏

Is working in medical physics dangerous for example exposure to radiation?
