An ending where, if not happiness, everyone gets a bit of freedom or peace. This is amazing. I haven't seen this kind of ending in awhile no matter the country. Well done writers. Well done actors and crew. Stellar job on all parts. And that nod to Yanxi Palace? Absolute perfection.

I felt devastated in the scene where Zijin said I feel like I owe you in the past life referring to Fuheng saving Yingluo in their past life. He died to find the cure for her illness and Yingluo owe him. The ending there was painful, but at least they got to be together now in their next life and paid her debt to Fuheng promising him to love him forever and be with him throughout her whole life. 😭😭😭
What an ending indeed. They wrapped up all the storylines they started, it's just perfect. I didn't think I'd actually feel so terribly sad and nostalgic at Yin Ziping leaving!! The writers made us trust them and now rip our hearts out
I didn't like that they wrote Ziping's ending like that. She has wanted to be Matron. Let her enjoy it for a while! I wanted her to have that one final scene with Yueh Hwa as THE CRIMINAL and her the Matron, a true role reversal. The way it's done now, I felt unsatisfied.
I noticed only few people are talking about You Yifan. I feel really sad for him, he never got to express his feelings clearly to Zijin. I badly wanted her to know about their encounter before the palace time and those paintings she received from him.
Yes, some of these flashbacks should have been brought out in conversation. Yi Fan's final conversation with Zijin should have been more. Also, selfish me, I wanted a romantic night scene between Zijin and Zhangji. They kept getting interrupted! And I couldn't figure when exactly was the marriage consummated since there was no chance from the marriage night, the next night during the bath, the night after that when he gave her the necklace, then he rushed off out of the capital, and then his father died on his mother's birthday (!) and so that period after that he would be busy mourning and also preparing to be emperor. When was the proper wedding night? LOL.
The lesson I learn from this movie is that we should respect food more than anything else and treat it as treasure. Another thing is PATIENCE that if we dreamed something we will work hard for it and wait until it will bestowed on us! Thank you for sharing this wonderful story.

“begin with a meal and end with a meal" I cried when Ziping made the last meal for Zijin as a way of saying goodbye. Ziping chooses to see the world and walk the path for Zijin, the reason is that as a noble consort, they will never be able to go out of the palace in this lifetime. What a friendship there... I wish when they got old, Ziping would return to the palace and share everything she has achieved and experienced with Zijin. I never thought Yuan Qi would betray Zhanji in the previous eps, he was such a cute character and seemed harmless at all. It's such a pity that Yuan Qi got punished by dismembering the body but he totally deserves it. Zhanji already saw the signs of Yuan Qi's betrayal but still gave him the chance, they were talking about how they grew up together, how they went to the war together, and how Yuan Qi got shot by arrows just to protect Zhanji; All these conversations were the purpose of Zhanji trying to remind him and giving him one last chance to stop. If only at that time Yuan Qi would feel sorry and remorse then he can stop Zhanji from drinking the tea, he did hesitate for a bit while watching Zhanji, but the desire still overcome the two decades of companionship... sigh I can totally feel Zhanji's pain when his teardrop and had to send the decree to use the cruelest punishment on this once was royal, protective servant or can be called a friend to him.
Yuan Qi is the example of what happens when someone becomes too comfortable. As the Eunuch of the future Emperor, he was practically invincible. Zhanji even showed how far he would go to protect him multiple times, when normal servants would have been banished from the palace. But Zhanji caught on early that there was more to Yuan Qi, which is why he kept him so close (keep your friends close and your enemies closer).
Lingchi is more than dismembering the body. It means death by a thousand cuts. He would be cut with a knife a thousand times till he dies from blood loss, shock hyperthermia and exposure
I loved Zijin and Ziping's friendship. I'm going to miss them. The best part of their relationship was how loyal they were to each other. They were willing to fight tooth and nail for each other....with so much plotting, scheming and betrayal going on in the palace it was refreshing to see such a dynamic duo. I really wanted Yuehua to be a part of their little club but she was on a whole new level. How many chances did they give Yuan qi? Empress Dowager and Zijin tried when they cleverly revealed to him that they knew about the corruption going on within the purchasing department...Zhanji tried when he questioned his loyalty. Empress Hu stepped in to defend him. He gave him one more chance...and he blew it...he chose to follow the prince of Han rather than confess his crimes. My heart broke for Zhanji...he was really hoping that Yuan qi valued their friendship.. but he chose greed. His punishment was well deserved....it was harsher than everyone else because of his position.

When Ziping told the Empress Dowager that Zijin had always treated Ziping with respect, despite their backgrounds...that was some deep shit. Yuehua could have totally been a part of their group, and they never ostracized her...at least until Yuehua stole the painting. She was the one that avoided hanging out with them and joining in, and then she let her jealousy get in the way when she got clothes for Zijin. That's all on Yuehua, not Zijin or Ziping.
Manager Fang and Chen Wu's side story is so cute and I love both characters so much they were smart and useful and good friends, I really enjoy them having their own scenes together 🥺

I don't think season 2 is a good idea because Zhu Zhanji died young just 10 years in his reign and left Empress Sun and her young son at the mercy of his mother Dowager Empress Zhang. If there's going to be a season 2 I don't think that it will be as light and lovey dovey as it is now. I think the production did a great job of ending the drama at this point because Empress Sun's reign is messy and so is her son the future emperor.
This Chinese drama series has made me sleepless for almost a week. Xukai and Wu Jinyan are great actors and all the cast here, they have a great story line and wonderful researchers that tried to make the history part close to reality. I did cry when Ziping left and plans to fulfill her best friend's dream, I feel like this is a sequel of their love story from the Yanzi palace. It is wonderfully done, with very good casting. It deserves another season. Congratulations! This is wonderfully made.
When promoted to be the next matron, Ziping finally realized that she has all the opportunity and ability to achieve whatever dream she wants to accomplish. And the world outside the palace offers her the bigger dream. As for the empress, she never wanted to enter the palace in the first place. Her passion has been in the world of medicine. In a way, she was also inspired by Zijin's mission to alter the cruel ancestral rules. She realized when you have an important mission in ur life, ur life suddenly has purpose and meaning. You Yifan and Su Yuehua shared similarity that both were initially driven by feeling of revenge. Sadly, this vengeful feeling has overshadowed their actual talents and abilities. The difference is You Yifan chose suicide as he cannot deal with the guilty feeling while Yuehua chose to redeem herself by starting over as not to let her mother's sacrifice to go in vain.
I agree...but I think that Yifan chose suicide because he couldn't live with the fact that he lost against Zhanji...he thought he was overrated by their grandfather. He assumed that he was only successful because he was favored. He looked down on him....but Zhanji proved him wrong...Yifan didn't see it coming...Zhanji took out four birds with one very large stone...he took down his second and third uncles, Yuan qi and Yifan....they didn't stand a chance against him. I also think he couldn't face Zijin especially after she chose to die with Zhanji rather than live without him.
I really wanted her to grab Zhanji and kiss him passionately at the end and surprise him with pregnancy news…her finally letting her guard down with him and showing how much she loves him and the two having happy news, that would have been the ending for these two I wanted to see, we deserve that
Kudos to the scriptwriter - no cheesy lines, no flashbacks/fillers every episode, no screaming, no exaggerated acting, instant retribution/punishment, the courtship phase was really exciting. Only thing kept me hanging was, WHY THERE WAS NO BABY!!!! 😤 But overall this is a masterpiece. 🥰🥰🥰.

The son became the next emperor though his achievements were not that great bec he was captured by the Mongols which was a big embarassment to the empire. 🙄 Even the empress (1st wife) had 2 daughters with the emperor.

There will always be 'not enough' drama for them. I need more drama between Wu Jin Yan and Xu Kai. Can be historical or modern but I hope they are the main leads and have a romantic genre. Their chemistry is just beautiful and real that it's hard to just not feel it when they're acting. Forever supporting them and wish them the best in the future. The only thing, they didn’t add enough romance between the two leads and didn’t add at least a child or two. Maybe at end, could’ve done years later or months later with their kid, or kids. That would’ve been a more perfect ending for two awesome tv couples.

I think that was put in intentionally to reference Yanxi Palace (I read somewhere that there are a couple of references that the actors did, but that's the most obvious one).
This Kai fellow is extremely lucky in roles . He gets scripts that bring out his true talent and he does justice to them too … has the face of a baby but acts as a real man . Salute xu Kai .keep up the good work .
What a great story ending. You can feel the continuity of the story yet no loose ends remain. Realistic and nostalgic. Primary and secondary characters are portrayed properly that you can never truly hate even the villains. I prefer slow paced and subtle portrayal of imperial stories. What I love the most is the “different” approach that this drama shows, the characters did not succumbed to destiny but fought their will to shape their ending. It was them who chose what they will become.
Royal Feast was a high quality drama. Lots of twists and turns and suspense. The main character Wu Jinyan and Xu Kai were exceptional in their roles. The others were also experienced and professional actors who also made the show come alive. Excellent cast. Thank you for the English sub. that helped to understand this epic story.
Ziping left to fulfill her dreams. The empress left to be happy... Sad that officer you had to die but he did deserve it.... matron meng sacrificed herself to keep her child alive, the love of a mother .This was a beautiful drama...
The best seen of the drama is when empress Hu left the palace in that snowy weather. Coldness or loneliness won't bother her anymore. I felt her freedom and peace in her mind. After all she flew for her dreams. 💙

Oh myyyy, this drama got me so involved in China history and cuisine.❣️ I could even write my power couple names well Zijin and Zhu Zhanjji. Royal feast crew i say kudos👏👏👏☑️💯. I really went into the history and loved both the Emperor and his Noble Consort that turned Empress. What an impressive history well depicted and fantastically acted out. Love you Xu Kai and Wu Jinyan.❣️👍☑️💯❣️☑️ Oh i forgot to add, i had to go watch Yanxi Palace first when i saw the thumbnail for the drama and some fans comments. I finished the whole episodes in a day. It was worth it,bcos i came back to RF to see my power couple finally get together.
This actor who played You Yifan is excellent. I've watched him in Song of Youth where he played an innocent kind-hearted sweet Young Master. Then here, he played a villain where by just his mere presence and facial expression, you'll hate him. Gosh. He's so different. Could someone give this actor a best acting award? He act so well.
I agree that he is excellent actor. I just have a different opinion of You Yifan. I don't hate him, I like him the best after Zhu Zhanji. He schemed to take down his father and his adopted father, and then die, because he knew that Zhanji will be great Emperor, so he took all threats with him... It was so sad for me, he deserved more. 😥
@@alexistasartir2175 totally agree with your insight abt Officer Yuo. He only wanted to avenge for his mom and himself. All other character in the show was redeemed by love of some sort except him. In the end he chose to die, to repay his fathers. Great acting, Mr. Wang Ye Zhe deserves more recognition.
The one true element of this series for me was the strong friendships that was created, developed, and nourished throughout its duration. Yes, I too am a fan of Wei YingLou and Fu Heng coupling from Yanxi Palace, and they definitely redeemed their relationship here, but the friendships that was established in this series was a definitely a testament on its own. Zijin and Ziping, the growth of their friendship, and how Ziping pretty much "grew up" and became this mature, level-headed woman thanks to Zijin's teachings and guidance. Her leaving the palace to travel the world was a beautiful sentiment to what their relationship was truly about; your dreams became mine, you can no longer fulfill those ambitions, I will do it for you, not because I owe you, but because you showed me and guided me to become the strong person I am today, and now I want to show you that all you've done for me will not be for knot... I truly loved their sisterhood. Even Zhanji and Yuan Qi. They grew up together. His heart broken state knowing that he wouldn't stop him from drinking the poisoned tea; and then having to make the painstaking decision to execute his childhood, if not best, friend. The series started off well for me, especially with all the cooking, but the last half just became bland for me because it no longer was about the cooking, but became a political drama. I knew it was gonna happen but didn't think it would take away so much of the whole cooking aspect. Needless to say, the friendships and Zijin and Zhanji coupling kept me going. Xu Kai fits the historical/costume dramas well.
This is probably the best drama I’ve seen this year so far. It was full of friendship, backstabbing, plotting, love, revenge and redemption. 10/10 19/03/2023

It'd be interesting to see how that would work based on the historical material. By this time (which should be about 1428), Zijin would have already had a one-year old son and the emperor only has about seven more years of life left.

Outstanding production from start to finish. It’s a Royal Feast in every aspect!!!! Every episode is engaging. Well scripted and the acting by all the cast members were sublime to watch! Thank you to for those who worked hard to translate this great series! I learned much about Chinese History , cuisine and culture. Some characters truly lost their way overwhelmed by vengeance, misunderstandings and greed - the most surprising was Emperor’s closest Eunuch, it was heartbreaking. The main leads were a delight to watch although felt their relationship became less of a focus as the series went on. I think Ziping’s character despite her initial hardships and with gentle guidance of her best friend /Noble Consort Sun had achieved the greatest amount of success. There’s a cleverly written reference in this last episode that will delight the Yanxi Palace fans. This series has become one of my top favourites. Thank you for the uploads.
I agree. Ziping's transformation was one of the best. I loved watching her journey. It broke my heart when she walked away from the palace. She was Zijin's best friend...and with all the backstabbing and betrayal going on in the palace Zijin needs her friend.
This is my third time watching this drama......not only do I love it from beginning to end but compared to what they are bringing out now.....I honestly prefer these types of dramas....

Costume and acting are superb. Chemistry of the main lead cp is good, but not enough. If there were more screen time of the CP and less scenes of food descriptions, it would be much better. In short, we do need S2.

Ziping left after becoming a metron wow, so emotional for zijin, they had a bond. Love their friendship turned sisterhood without envie and jealousy. This episode was emotional tho. nice drama.
Royal Feast is the best Chinese drama I have ever watched. Xu Kai and Wu Jin Yan are amazing couple. All actors and actresses were so great! They made Royal Feast an awesome movie. Finally finished watching this drama... To cut a curtail, this drama was amazing. I'm a fan of xu kai from 2020. I love him. I watched his drama THE STORY OF YANXI PALACE just before it. They both were the main lead there as well. I just loved this drama to fuckin' much

Outstanding job by the production team, so much attention to detail in every aspect either it's food, clothes, decoration, ambience, relationships, colors, etiquettes, etc. etc. .... what a visual spectrum of emotions .. just amazing. The story line is touching but what’s the essence of Ziping Working thru the movie and finally turned to Matron and then Moved out of the Palace?? Why’s Su Yuheua pardoned and not killed?? She’s One of the villains in this movie. She was part of the Grandfathers Killer, she was also part of Zhu Zhan Jo’s father murderers. How could they not beheaded her? To me, the Palace would be Boring without Ziping and others. The Empress is so Cool but I wish she stayed ❤. All thanks to the Directors, the Writer and the Producers. I felt devastated in the scene where Zijin said I feel like I owe you in the past life referring to Fuheng saving Yingluo in their past life. He died to find the cure for her illness and Yingluo owe him. The ending there was painful, but at least they got to be together now in their next life and paid her debt to Fuheng promising him to love him forever and be with him throughout her whole life. 😭😭😭

I didn't like that they wrote Ziping's ending like that. She has wanted to be Matron. Let her enjoy it for a while! I wanted her to have that one final scene with Yueh Hwa as THE CRIMINAL and her the Matron, a true role reversal. The way it's done now, I felt unsatisfied.

Also, selfish me, I wanted a romantic night scene between Zijin and Zhangji. They kept getting interrupted! And I couldn't figure when exactly was the marriage consummated since there was no chance from the marriage night, the next night during the bath, the night after that when he gave her the necklace, then he rushed off out of the capital, and then his father died on his mother's birthday (!) and so that period after that he would be busy mourning and also preparing to be emperor. When was the proper wedding night? LOL.

“begin with a meal and end with a meal" I cried when Ziping made the last meal for Zijin as a way of saying goodbye. Ziping chooses to see the world and walk the path for Zijin, the reason is that as a noble consort, they will never be able to go out of the palace in this lifetime. What a friendship there... I wish when they got old, Ziping would return to the palace and share everything she has achieved and experienced with Zijin.
I never thought Yuan Qi would betray Zhanji in the previous eps, he was such a cute character and seemed harmless at all. It's such a pity that Yuan Qi got punished by dismembering the body but he totally deserves it. Zhanji already saw the signs of Yuan Qi's betrayal but still gave him the chance, they were talking about how they grew up together, how they went to the war together, and how Yuan Qi got shot by arrows just to protect Zhanji; All these conversations were the purpose of Zhanji trying to remind him and giving him one last chance to stop. If only at that time Yuan Qi would feel sorry and remorse then he can stop Zhanji from drinking the tea, he did hesitate for a bit while watching Zhanji, but the desire still overcome the two decades of companionship... sigh I can totally feel Zhanji's pain when his teardrop and had to send the decree to use the cruelest punishment on this once was royal, protective servant or can be called a friend to him.
Yuan Qi is the example of what happens when someone becomes too comfortable. As the Eunuch of the future Emperor, he was practically invincible. Zhanji even showed how far he would go to protect him multiple times, when normal servants would have been banished from the palace. But Zhanji caught on early that there was more to Yuan Qi, which is why he kept him so close (keep your friends close and your enemies closer).
Lingchi is more than dismembering the body. It means death by a thousand cuts. He would be cut with a knife a thousand times till he dies from blood loss, shock hyperthermia and exposure

I loved Zijin and Ziping's friendship. I'm going to miss them. The best part of their relationship was how loyal they were to each other. They were willing to fight tooth and nail for each other....with so much plotting, scheming and betrayal going on in the palace it was refreshing to see such a dynamic duo. I really wanted Yuehua to be a part of their little club but she was on a whole new level.
How many chances did they give Yuan qi? Empress Dowager and Zijin tried when they cleverly revealed to him that they knew about the corruption going on within the purchasing department...Zhanji tried when he questioned his loyalty. Empress Hu stepped in to defend him. He gave him one more chance...and he blew it...he chose to follow the prince of Han rather than confess his crimes. My heart broke for Zhanji...he was really hoping that Yuan qi valued their friendship.. but he chose greed. His punishment was well deserved....it was harsher than everyone else because of his position.
@@shontelagrone8713 Zijin and Ziping were absolutely adorable, especially because they had so much love and respect for each other. When Ziping told the Empress Dowager that Zijin had always treated Ziping with respect, despite their backgrounds...that was some deep shit.
Yuehua could have totally been a part of their group, and they never ostracized her...at least until Yuehua stole the painting. She was the one that avoided hanging out with them and joining in, and then she let her jealousy get in the way when she got clothes for Zijin. That's all on Yuehua, not Zijin or Ziping.
Manager Fang and Chen Wu's side story is so cute and I love both characters so much they were smart and useful and good friends, I really enjoy them having their own scenes together 🥺

I don't think season 2 is a good idea because Zhu Zhanji died young just 10 years in his reign and left Empress Sun and her young son at the mercy of his mother Dowager Empress Zhang. If there's going to be a season 2 I don't think that it will be as light and lovey dovey as it is now. I think the production did a great job of ending the drama at this point because Empress Sun's reign is messy and so is her son the future emperor.

This Chinese drama series has made me sleepless for almost a week. Xukai and Wu Jinyan are great actors and all the cast here, they have a great story line and wonderful researchers that tried to make the history part close to reality. I did cry when Ziping left and plans to fulfill her best friend's dream, I feel like this is a sequel of their love story from the Yanzi palace. It is wonderfully done, with very good casting. It deserves another season. Congratulations! This is wonderfully made.

When promoted to be the next matron, Ziping finally realized that she has all the opportunity and ability to achieve whatever dream she wants to accomplish. And the world outside the palace offers her the bigger dream.
As for the empress, she never wanted to enter the palace in the first place. Her passion has been in the world of medicine. In a way, she was also inspired by Zijin's mission to alter the cruel ancestral rules. She realized when you have an important mission in ur life, ur life suddenly has purpose and meaning.
You Yifan and Su Yuehua shared similarity that both were initially driven by feeling of revenge. Sadly, this vengeful feeling has overshadowed their actual talents and abilities. The difference is You Yifan chose suicide as he cannot deal with the guilty feeling while Yuehua chose to redeem herself by starting over as not to let her mother's sacrifice to go in vain.

I agree...but I think that Yifan chose suicide because he couldn't live with the fact that he lost against Zhanji...he thought he was overrated by their grandfather. He assumed that he was only successful because he was favored. He looked down on him....but Zhanji proved him wrong...Yifan didn't see it coming...Zhanji took out four birds with one very large stone...he took down his second and third uncles, Yuan qi and Yifan....they didn't stand a chance against him. I also think he couldn't face Zijin especially after she chose to die with Zhanji rather than live without him.

Kudos to the scriptwriter - no cheesy lines, no flashbacks/fillers every episode, no screaming, no exaggerated acting, instant retribution/punishment, the courtship phase was really exciting. Only thing kept me hanging was, WHY THERE WAS NO BABY!!!! 😤 But overall this is a masterpiece. 🥰🥰🥰.

The son became the next emperor though his achievements were not that great bec he was captured by the Mongols which was a big embarassment to the empire. 🙄 Even the empress (1st wife) had 2 daughters with the emperor.
In another drama from the Ming Dynasty, the Empress left the palace and got on board a ship to see the world. That's how she abdicated the throne.

There will always be 'not enough' drama for them. I need more drama between Wu Jin Yan and Xu Kai. Can be historical or modern but I hope they are the main leads and have a romantic genre. Their chemistry is just beautiful and real that it's hard to just not feel it when they're acting. Forever supporting them and wish them the best in the future. The only thing, they didn’t add enough romance between the two leads and didn’t add at least a child or two. Maybe at end, could’ve done years later or months later with their kid, or kids. That would’ve been a more perfect ending for two awesome tv couples.

I think that was put in intentionally to reference Yanxi Palace (I read somewhere that there are a couple of references that the actors did, but that's the most obvious one).

What a great story ending. You can feel the continuity of the story yet no loose ends remain. Realistic and nostalgic. Primary and secondary characters are portrayed properly that you can never truly hate even the villains. I prefer slow paced and subtle portrayal of imperial stories. What I love the most is the “different” approach that this drama shows, the characters did not succumbed to destiny but fought their will to shape their ending. It was them who chose what they will become.

我覺得那些畫，有些是朱瞻基畫的、有些則是游一帆畫的；以前曾經有一幕，當子衿在看畫時，類似說了一句「看起來有點不一樣」、還有另一幕，當朱瞻基突然進入子衿的房間時，正在看畫的子衿卻匆忙地收了起來，朱瞻基還問子衿在看什麼，結果她卻沒回在看畫，這些理由就是讓我覺得，其實有幾張畫是游一帆畫的，而朱瞻基也清楚，所以最後才說了一句「就好好收著吧」，而子衿則是有種被信任的心悅感表露無遺。
還是有看點的。朝代史記無窮盡。編劇編的好。導演導的好。演員也演的棒。還有現場的工作人員。大家都很用心的在經贏一個好劇。溫暖了！期待還有續集噢！謝謝。謝謝視頻。

延禧攻略許凱和吳謹言的意難平，雖在尚食圓了夢，但還是不過隱總覺得少了什麼，最可惜此劇刪了十集，後面結尾有些倉促，期待許凱和吳謹言的新戲

完全不俗套的剧 服化道做的都特别好 对每个人物的刻画也都特别鲜明鲜活 给了配角们很多的视角 好像真的第一次看剧让我觉得配角们的故事这么完整这么清晰，最后对每个剧里的“坏人”更多的是感慨，他们童年的不美好才造成了现在…
结局说实话我没想到原来游一帆竟然是两边都不帮 而是和朱瞻基一样的思想 剧情一开始就铺垫了太祖皇帝突然让他当身边的锦衣卫 太祖原来早就知道了
全局哭得最惨 一是紫萍和子衿吃面分别 二就是结局的紫萍没有当尚食 而是选择去民间完成子衿未完成的事情 这也是我没想到的 真的哭的不行…
还有陈芜为方典膳撑伞那一幕真的说不出的感动…
总之真的很良心的 我是真的觉得这个结局太好太好了 很多出乎意料却又合情合理

I really went into the history and loved both the Emperor and his Noble Consort that turned Empress. What an impressive history well depicted and fantastically acted out.

Oh i forgot to add, i had to go watch Yanxi Palace first when i saw the thumbnail for the drama and some fans comments. I finished the whole episodes in a day. It was worth it,bcos i came back to RF to see my power couple finally get together.

This actor who played You Yifan is excellent. I've watched him in Song of Youth where he played an innocent kind-hearted sweet Young Master. Then here, he played a villain where by just his mere presence and facial expression, you'll hate him. Gosh. He's so different. Could someone give this actor a best acting award? He act so well.
I agree that he is excellent actor. I just have a different opinion of You Yifan. I don't hate him, I like him the best after Zhu Zhanji. He schemed to take down his father and his adopted father, and then die, because he knew that Zhanji will be great Emperor, so he took all threats with him... It was so sad for me, he deserved more. 😥
@@alexistasartir2175 totally agree with your insight abt Officer Yuo. He only wanted to avenge for his mom and himself. All other character in the show was redeemed by love of some sort except him. In the end he chose to die, to repay his fathers. Great acting, Mr. Wang Ye Zhe deserves more recognition.

The one true element of this series for me was the strong friendships that was created, developed, and nourished throughout its duration.
Yes, I too am a fan of Wei YingLou and Fu Heng coupling from Yanxi Palace, and they definitely redeemed their relationship here, but the friendships that was established in this series was a definitely a testament on its own.
Zijin and Ziping, the growth of their friendship, and how Ziping pretty much "grew up" and became this mature, level-headed woman thanks to Zijin's teachings and guidance. Her leaving the palace to travel the world was a beautiful sentiment to what their relationship was truly about; your dreams became mine, you can no longer fulfill those ambitions, I will do it for you, not because I owe you, but because you showed me and guided me to become the strong person I am today, and now I want to show you that all you've done for me will not be for knot... I truly loved their sisterhood.
Even Zhanji and Yuan Qi. They grew up together. His heart broken state knowing that he wouldn't stop him from drinking the poisoned tea; and then having to make the painstaking decision to execute his childhood, if not best, friend.
The series started off well for me, especially with all the cooking, but the last half just became bland for me because it no longer was about the cooking, but became a political drama. I knew it was gonna happen but didn't think it would take away so much of the whole cooking aspect. Needless to say, the friendships and Zijin and Zhanji coupling kept me going.
Xu Kai fits the historical/costume dramas well.
This is probably the best drama I’ve seen this year so far. It was full of friendship, backstabbing, plotting, love, revenge and redemption. 10/10

i would love to see a season 2, return of Ziping after she became world's best chef. Yuehua turning herself around and completing her mom's book of herbs, continue in her mom's legacy since her mom gave up everything for her. And a baby born to Emperor and Yao. how cute would that of been. !
It'd be interesting to see how that would work based on the historical material. By this time (which should be about 1428), Zijin would have already had a one-year old son and the emperor only has about seven more years of life left.

Outstanding production from start to finish. It’s a Royal Feast in every aspect!!!! Every episode is engaging. Well scripted and the acting by all the cast members were sublime to watch! Thank you to for those who worked hard to translate this great series! I learned much about Chinese History , cuisine and culture. Some characters truly lost their way overwhelmed by vengeance, misunderstandings and greed - the most surprising was Emperor’s closest Eunuch, it was heartbreaking. The main leads were a delight to watch although felt their relationship became less of a focus as the series went on. I think Ziping’s character despite her initial hardships and with gentle guidance of her best friend /Noble Consort Sun had achieved the greatest amount of success. There’s a cleverly written reference in this last episode that will delight the Yanxi Palace fans. This series has become one of my top favourites. Thank you for the uploads.
I agree. Ziping's transformation was one of the best. I loved watching her journey. It broke my heart when she walked away from the palace. She was Zijin's best friend...and with all the backstabbing and betrayal going on in the palace Zijin needs her friend.
This is my third time watching this drama......not only do I love it from beginning to end but compared to what they are bringing out now.....I honestly prefer these types of dramas....
I need season 2 for this please 🥺 with a lots of romance for the couple huhuhu and having kids like in the real history 🥺🥺

@@fefeylin4485 那些畫…好像不是游大人畫的，是瞻基畫的，瞻基偷偷在遠處看子衿好幾次，他都跟旁邊人說走走或看夜景，其實都是去遠遠可以觀察或看子衿的地方，回來把她畫下來收著，子衿最後看的那一張，是瞻基憑想像畫出來的子衿未入宮前的少女模樣，為子衿補上他先前未知的那段空白…子衿心裡的確是知道游一帆喜歡她，也隱約懷疑過他倆曾見過，但游一帆沒有透露沒有承認，也沒有對任何人說那女孩就是子衿，因此子衿從來都不知道當年她救的受傷少年就是游一帆，而游一帆做的都是反操作…如偷畫弄傷她的手離間感情，都是希望能救她離開困住她的人事物，即使是用傷害的方式，這也是他曾對月華提起的他默默許在心底對那女孩的願望，子衿也是世上唯一讓他想繼續活下來的理由，他最後見子衿時原本很想坦承一切，但不知情且覺他非善類的子衿沒有給機會，她的態度決絕與成全子衿想要的，也是他最後自己選擇放棄生命的原因…

@@fiychen8208 我覺得那些畫，有些是朱瞻基畫的、有些則是游一帆畫的；以前曾經有一幕，當子衿在看畫時，類似說了一句「看起來有點不一樣」、還有另一幕，當朱瞻基突然進入子衿的房間時，正在看畫的子衿卻匆忙地收了起來，朱瞻基還問子衿在看什麼，結果她卻沒回在看畫，這些理由就是讓我覺得，其實有幾張畫是游一帆畫的，而朱瞻基也清楚，所以最後才說了一句「就收起來吧」，而子衿則是有種被信任的心悅感表露無遺。
詮釋的太好了！
好可惜完結了，期待有新劇上演，裡面還有許凱與謹言為男女主角，戲裡所有的人物都刻畫得很道位，可惜沒有續集，不過這樣完結篇圓了傅恆與瓔珞這世相逢到老。

Costume and acting are superb. Chemistry of the main lead cp is good, but not enough. If there were more screen time of the CP and less scenes of food descriptions, it would be much better. In short, we do need S2.

Ziping left after becoming a metron wow, so emotional for zijin, they had a bond. Love their friendship turned sisterhood without envie and jealousy. This episode was emotional tho. nice drama.
Royal Feast is the best Chinese drama I have ever watched. Xu Kai and Wu Jin Yan are amazing couple. All actors and actresses were so great! They made Royal Feast an awesome movie. What's next for Wu Jin Yan and Xu Kai? Hope there's one soon! Thank you for the English translation. We are very much indebted to China Huanyu Ent. for these series of a great movie.

To cut a curtail, this drama was amazing. I'm a fan of xu kai from 2020. I love him. I watched his drama THE STORY OF YANXI PALACE just before it. They both were the main lead there as well.

Waouh ! J'ai adoré ! Retrouver Yingluo avec son caractère incisif, rebelle et toujours aussi malicieux ! Fuheng et elle, match parfait ! L'impératrice douairière et le médecin Sheng, voilà 4 personnages que j'ai aimés dans "Yanxi Palace" et que je revois avec beaucoup de plaisir ! Et comme j'aime la cuisine, c'est un vrai régal d'avoir tous ces gros plans très bien filmés avec les ralentis. Je crois que je ne sortirais plus de table si je vivais dans un endroit pareil ! Félicitations à tous les acteurs et au metteur en scène, qui font de "Shangshi Royal Feast" une réussite et un régal pour les yeux. Bravo et merci de l'Ile de la Réunion !

Outstanding job by the production team, so much attention to detail in every aspect either it's food, clothes, decoration, ambience, relationships, colors, etiquettes, etc. etc. .... what a visual spectrum of emotions .. just amazing. All actors have done such a great job. It can be clearly seen how much hard work they have put in...Thank you for bringing this drama to your channel ... we need more dramas like this

Why’s Su Yuheua pardoned and not killed?? She’s One of the villains in this movie. She was part of the Grandfathers Killer, she was also part of Zhu Zhan Jo’s father murderers. How could they not beheaded her?
To me, the Palace would be Boring without Ziping and others.
