I thought Lan zhan taught Wei to play this song so he can calm himself down from the evil inside. That’s why he knows how to play it. He just didn’t know Lan Zhan only taught Wei how to play this and no one else should know how to play this song.
Then Again I didnt read the book and don’t know mandarin. So subtitle translations may have confused my understanding of this series lol.
@@Vendalu Naw, It was a love confession. They were both stuck in a cave together and both were injured. Lan Wangji played it on request (I think he had been working on it since a previous cave adventure.) Between his spotty memory and the high fever he was running at the time, plus the time skip, it's actually pretty amazing that Wei Wuxian remembered this at all.
Weiying knew the melody, but didn't know it's significance. He thought it was just one of the Lan clan Calming meditation songs. That's why he usually played it to Wen Ning during his episodes to calm him down. And thus, poor Lan Zhan's love confession somehow became a lullaby for a grown-ass violent zombie
@@Vendalu Lan clan is very music heavy... It's not that anyone else can't play the song, it's a love confession for a specific person, so no one does. That's why when Weiying played it on a leaf harmonica at Mo's house in ep1, Sizhui recognized it... Because he has heard it played by his adoptive father in the privacy of their home.
😅 well, in the novel says there that wie ying is a master of the 6 arts.. in real life he is. What an irony. 😊

as much as i love the this series but the ending was not what i expected to be, it’s heartbreaking for me since i am an avid reader of its light novel and the ending is far from the ending of the series, lan wangji and wei ying was supposed to be together and live in the cloud recessess but in the series they separate, whyyyy? I cant fathom to think about it my heart still aches

I haven't watched this yet. So is Wen Ning Wei Wuxian before he died? So did he call his own soul back when he played that flute? I thought that Wei Wuxian is the body that Wen Ning's soul is inhabiting now? Or am I totally wrong?
Wen Ning is someone who helped Wei Wuxian out years ago. He was an innocent, kind boy who got caught up in his clan's wrong doings. Everybody hated Wen Ning's clan and the people from it, so Wen Ning was killed indiscriminately after being protected by Wei Wuxian for a while. His body was brought back to fight using the diabolical arts and eventually, even his consciousness was brought back so he's not really dead or alive here. But Wei Wuxian was able to use Wen Ning to help him fight back then before he himself died. And now he can use Wen Ning again since he's been summoned into a new body.

Tbh I thought their special effects would be worse. It's still bad, but then again I was raised on American movies (No i'm not American and biased) where special effect like these would be 1980's. Their stories are phenomenal though, MTXT novels are the best things I have ever experienced. Anyway, it's much better than I expected considering their budget would be nothing compared to Hollywood.
Yeah this series budget was dirt poor even compared to regular Chinese costume dramas, that already had bad special effects to begin with.
