I feel conflicted now that more time has passed between the original allegations. Melanie's music, image, and persona deeply resonate with me and have for almost a 10 years now (which is crazy to say, I just got into her fandom very young) When the allegations first came out in 2017 I was in middle school. I loved Melanie and had incorporated aspects of her brand into my identity. I didnt believe Timothy at all, but less because of inconsistencies with the allegation but because I wanted to be "allowed" to listen to her again. Now I'm old enough to be heading towards college, and my opinions have shifted. SA is a complicated crime, victims often push down details and give perpetrators the benefit of the doubt in an effort to maintain their relationships and friendships. Even the lyrics in this song could be interpreted as tropes often used against women who were sexually assaulted. Paraphasing of course, "I'm the real victim here," "She came out with it for the money/the fame." These are used routinely against victims of rape. I'm not saying anyone who loves Melanie is a bad person, because I love her brand too. But theres some cognative dissonance here that you have to be aware of. Whether you believe the allegations or not, at least allow the victim to exist of social media without being mentioned to harassed too often. Consider, if she was telling the truth, how stressful it would be to be another SA victim watching this play out in real time. The dismissive remarks, people defending your abuser. Its terrifying. But that's just one photo, it doesn't disprove anything really. And it can be hard to recount abuse or assault, especially with the time thats passed. As far as I'm concerned, she wouldn't really be coming back with these allegations if the Crybaby and earthling fandom would leave Timothy the f alone. Timothy even said that she was trying to move on after everything had happened, but the fandom just will not stop. The allegations are outside of the statue of limitations, meaning it is no longer considered a crime. Also often times police wont listen to people about SA cases, especially major celebs. Melanie's music, image, and persona deeply resonate with me and have for almost a 10 years now (which is crazy to say, I just got into her fandom very young)
When the allegations first came out in 2017 I was in middle school. I loved Melanie and had incorporated aspects of her brand into my identity. I didnt believe Timothy at all, but less because of inconsistencies with the allegation but because I wanted to be "allowed" to listen to her again.
Now I'm old enough to be heading towards college, and my opinions have shifted. SA is a complicated crime, victims often push down details and give perpetrators the benefit of the doubt in an effort to maintain their relationships and friendships. Even the lyrics in this song could be interpreted as tropes often used against women who were sexually assaulted.
Paraphasing of course, "I'm the real victim here," "She came out with it for the money/the fame." These are used routinely against victims of rape.
I'm not saying anyone who loves Melanie is a bad person, because I love her brand too. But theres some cognative dissonance here that you have to be aware of.
Whether you believe the allegations or not, at least allow the victim to exist of social media without being mentioned to harassed too often. Consider, if she was telling the truth, how stressful it would be to be another SA victim watching this play out in real time. The dismissive remarks, people defending your abuser. Its terrifying.
Again, I've considered myself a crybaby since I was 9. I found Melanie's music through a goddamn Ever After High Dressup Game. I still remember, the song was Mad Hatter. I was like "Damn this is kinda good" and it spiraled from there.

But that's just one photo, it doesn't disprove anything really. And it can be hard to recount abuse or assault, especially with the time thats passed. As far as I'm concerned, she wouldn't really be coming back with these allegations if the Crybaby and earthling fandom would leave Timothy the f alone. Timothy even said that she was trying to move on after everything had happened, but the fandom just will not stop. They relentlessly attack her, and I'm not gonna lie, but even if these things aren't true, they're being just absolutely horrendous. Im a fan of Melanie's music but I am not taking her side. Nor will i take Timothy's side, until the truth comes out with ACTUAL concrete evidence. "she dressed up as melanie!!" many victims stay friends with their abusers after it happens. some even stay dating or are forced to live with them. timothy explained that she was still friends with melanie at the time and was on tour with her when the pictures were taken.

we don't know for sure but me personally i believe timothy. why would tim be so dedicated to a lie when it's ruining her whole life? + melanie admitted that there were some things going on between the both of them... and she said "she didn't say no to what we chose to do together" which to me sounds like timothy didn't give a proper "yes" either... tim also claimed in her video that she did infact say no multiple times. i think it's kinda frustrating that mel won't take any accountability and make a proper statement...

if mel is proved to be a r%p1st, you can still listen to her music as long as you aren't directly supporting her. hold her accountable, don't listen to her music directly on stuff like spotify, listen to soundcloud or yt videos that aren't copyrighted (for example slowed / sped up songs), don't buy any merch unless its from a reseller, if you're watching k-12 then skip all ads cause mel makes money from those. also unfollow her on all social medias and just don't watch or support her content

keep in mind that Melanie's real hair in May was bluish purple and black, her hair going from late May-June was blonde and black.
we know this is her real hair because Timothy backs this up saying "I've never known Melanie to wear extensions, when you see her with long hair it's a wig." all of her short hair in that time proves it was blue in May and blonde in July.
I'm gonna take this a step further and tell you that her iCloud was not glitched; the images show May 6, which is the exact and only day Melanie wore that outfit with that hair color (we know this via her instagram posts). if it was on June 25th like she said, Mel's hair would've been blonde, wig or not.
and no this isn't a mental block thing, as someone who has been through mental block from experiences, it's very hard to believe her when the dates are right in her face
