This was hard work but they pulled it off! Geoff said they all had sore voices after this one 😄. This is truly epic - and even Miracle of Sound commented on their video (go have a look at the pinned comment!). 🌹🕊
J left VP in 2021 and has since joined with them a number of times when on leave from his navy duties. He is always a welcome sight when he can manage to get back with them. I think the first time was for Friends On The Other Side. No one else could have taken that part. :)
Geoff hits his lowest note to date in this one, several times. It's a B0! You can hear the first one underneath J. None singing "Me" in the beginning. Actually, you feel it more than you hear it! 💙
You will discover that J. Is featured in many videos and minis since he has joined the Navy. I think last summer he was stationed in Washington DC so only a shot flight to Orlando. Before be was stationed in Seattle Washington and came home on his leaves to do videos.
Not necessarily for reacting, but I will suggest that you might (and everyone else watching this) want to check out 'Miracle of Sound's' youTube channels. He's the original composer of this song. He really liked what VP did with it. Gave it "10 out of 10 Raised Alehorns" for creativity. You can find his channel easily by clicking on his comment on VoicePlay's page for this song. He writes/composes a variety of song styles, often inspired by video games, movies or tv. All very good. Sometimes with the songs done in a variety of styles even. For instance, if I recall correctly, he has 3 versions of this song on his channel. All slightly different.
This is the prequel to their "My Mother Told Me" video. They did that when J None was still a member. The only differences... Cesar instead of Jose Rosario Jr. Cesar is wearing Jose's and Geoff's top. Geoff is wearing his fur as his top. J None is now with the Navy Sea Chanters in Washington DC. This was filmed at Vü Studios Orlando instead of Pattycake Productions. When they were filming this the AC had broken down. So their makeup artist Rick Underwood had to wipe the sweat and touch-up their makeup between takes. But like the Vikings they were they forged on. Layne arranged this. Eli did the lighting. Vü Studios has full wall LED screens. Eli designed these. Jose is also in their videos "Hoist The Colours" and "Drunken Sailor". Along with many of their shorts/minis. J None also did a lot of shorts/minis with them. The first one he did after he left for the Navy was "World's Smallest Violin" which also paved the way to their shorts going from Pattycake Productions to the Oviedo Mall where Pattycake is located. Voiceplay and Geoff both have tons of amazing shorts/minis that very few react to. I wish you all would react to them. Just a little heads up.... Voiceplay with not be releasing a new video in May. But Geoff Castellucci will be. His Patreon will get it Monday or Tuesday.. Voiceplay was extremely busy this month with spring break and other activities they didn't have time to do a video.
I still want to know how Layne beatboxed that creaking door sound. I recommend you listen to VoicePlay’s Hoist the Colors. And to Geoff’s Ghost Riders in the Sky. Also, check out their Shorts/Minis, to see their silly side. Those are filmed in the mall attached to the recording studio owned by Layne and former group member, Tony.
Geoff had to wreck his voice for this one. The air conditioner in the studio where they filmed this was broke down that day. Just goes to show you that they will go through any length to please us.
I like that J is staring out across the water at the beginning. He was recruited but the US Navy and he’s come back (at least for this). The rap was added and some hints to his being in the military (ops, etc). Other commenters with Scandinavian roots have pointed out that the rap is not much of a reach as flyting became a part of Nordic cultures by the 19th century. It was described as an extremely spirited contest of verbal assaults. Eli did the amazing backgrounds using Unreal Engine which is used in filmmaking to provide digital backgrounds. The only real pieces in that set are the tables and benches. Even the door that J walks through was pure CGI. Layne was responsible for the creaking door sound. It was filmed at a studio with immense (Full wall!) LED screens. The music in the outro is the karaoke track. The percussion and background vocals and it could be a piece on its own because it’s also gorgeous.
Thanks for your reaction! I was one of the people that suggested it and I knew you would love it. Always a treat when J. None comes back as a featured guest and his latest promotion and assignment have him closer to Florida now so he is able to do more videos and minis with Voice Play. For more of J. None's rapping, I recommend "Superstition" as it also features Omar Cardona, (the guest you saw in "Dragonborn Comes") a frequently featured Voice Play guest that is a long time best friend and roommate of Cesar that we love as part of the Voice Play family like J. None. I think you would also enjoy J. None in Voice Play's cover of "In The Air Tonight".
And one of my all-time fave J None VoicePlay songs? "Friends on the Other Side" from Disney. J slays the part of Dr. Facille and Geoff and Layne's rhythm section towards the end is absolute fire!
Saw this the first time i watched this, now have to share it whenever people discover it: each character Definitely fits as a magic the gathering color, like straight out of the iceage sets, here are five new legendaries.
Try these; J None's first trip back after boot camp - Friends on the Other Side (Princess and the Frog), In The Air Tonight (Phil Collins), Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame), The Lion Sleeps Tonight (The Lion King), Warriors (Imagine Dragons) - all VoicePlay with J None.
Their cover of Enemy by Imagine Dragons from the Arcane Legends show is excellent. Its a collab with Alexa (an american born K-pop performer). Ya gotta.
Hmmm...if you're looking for something really new to react to, I would advise a couple artists. Peter Hollens, for one. Especially his parodies, like his "Epic Handwashing Parody" or "Quarantine Song." But everything he does is good. Also for something completely different and fun and cool, I'd suggest The Hillywood Show. They do (mostly) musical parodies of everything from Doctor Who to LOTR (Sean Astin himself tweeted how much he liked it!) to Harry Potter to S%icide Squad to Supernatural and more. And they're fantastic! You'd never guess they were fan funded. And even if you don't react to them, you might want to check them out just for fun! They're sure to have a show or movie you like in there! If you do, please let me now what you think! 💙💙💙💙
My son and I are both LOTR fans and that parody is amazing. Matching it with that music was absolutely inspired. Around Halloween, when I’m usually re-watching all of Geoff and VoicePlay’s videos, I’ve always make sure to re-watch out Peter’s crazy Halloween one where he plays eight different peculiar people. It’s one of my favorites of his. And I keep finding new things.

This is my favorite VoicePlay song. Thanks for doing this reaction.
It is truly epic! I think the guys need to be in a Viking movie! Kathy could be a Valkyrie!💙
It's epic. Consider the video "My Mother Told Me" their first effort at a Viking song that goes back to somewhere between the 9th and 13th century.
These guys always give more than 100% 😅

First comment! I think. This is my very favorite VP song! I listen to it on repeat for hours every other night!💙
