I absolutely Love and Adore Nana and SAS🥰They have the best time together. Foraging and eating what they find in their backyards! The sugarcane reminds me of growing up in Hawaii. We use to go to the sugarcane fields and chop down a few of them and eat them in the spot as well! The wax apples you ate, we have those in Hawaii but we call them Mountain Apples. I just love how you are so openly open with your family and their surroundings. I wish my family would be as open and welcoming but they are so guarded! Anyways, Love love love this vlog!! It's crazy how much the east has influenced the Caribbean due to the slave trade. Jamaica has so many Asian influences from the curry to the fruits brought over. The names have been changed due to cultural influence but we love sugar cane and eating it exactly the way you are right now. Your videos are helping me so much with the loss of my mom. Thank you. When my sister and I went to Mexico my sister did not know she wasn’t supposed to eat the fiber part of the sugar cane and for a while she was eating it. We still don’t know how she even managed to swallow it 😂
