Though I have no plans to actually play SMM2, now that Nintendo has fully killed SMM1, I've decided that I'm willing to port some of my levels over to the lesser game by special request.
This level needed layout adjustments to account for not being able to place anything in the 6x3 starting region in SMM2.
In SMM1, this tech was obscure and difficult to figure out, but not terribly hard to execute once you knew what to do and how to do it. As usual, SMM2 is an entirely different beast.
I'm reasonably certain this tech is frame perfect, in that you have pick up the POW for precisely 1 or 2 frames (depending on whether you want the blaster to move.)
That's not quite as insane as it sounds, since there's no particular window in which you must do these things; take as much time as you need to get ready. It's just that when you do finally decide to twiddle the buttons that need twiddling, do so perfectly.
    • In what's becoming a common refrain, I recommend remapping (and a good controller) so that you can use real buttons rather than the stick or the dpad.
    • To slide the bill blaster forward, pick up the POW for only a single frame.
•• I prefer to hold Down the entire time and plink Up → Y → Release All, but you could also hold nothing and plink Y → Down + Release Y.
    • To recenter the POW under the bill blaster without the blaster moving, pick up the POW for exactly two frames.
•• I prefer to hold Down the entire time and plink Up → Y → Dummy → Release All, but you could also hold nothing and plink Y → Down → Dummy + Release Y. (Dummy is a button that does nothing, like a disabled button, or another instance of Down. Adding another button to the sequence should help time Y to two frames exactly.)
    • Perfect one frame links are way easier if you set up your buttons to allow you to move your hand in a rolling "piano" style motion.
    • It takes a lot of practice to reliably perform one frame links, but if Daigo can do it, so can you!

If I didn't jump quickly enough after exploding the POW I would have. I should have slid the POW once more to the left before finishing off the podoboo.
