This is exactly the testing I was looking for! Straight to the point. I fell into trucking 3 years ago as I was working for a company in the transportation dept. where they began to integrate us driving OTR instead of using 3rd Party drivers so I've never done a trucking interview. 3 years later and I took severance with my company and took a healthy 4 months off of work. Now looking for trucking jobs and I feel quite intimidated having never done a trucking interview and not driven for 4 months. This video has helped me brush up on my knowledge and feel more comfortable getting back into it. If anyone has any advice on how the interviews generally go, please comment! I'm not worried about the driving aspect, more so just the questions they ask. Thanks CDLCollege for the awesome video!
This college has done a terrific job on the CDL Self-Test. It makes their students and other applicants all over the U.S. gather up more knowledge on the parts of the vehicle and trailer.
Thank you CDL College LLC I have not driven for over two years. With this it kind of video it refreshes my memory and allows me to not look stupid in front of my employer tomorrow. With notes and constant studying I will be back on the road in no time.
By far the best RUclips video on pretrip yet! I've been looking for a video like this for 6 months..Thank you, and thank you for the free download!
Hey, thanks a bunch, ’guns. This video is more of a test-yourself video. If you need a full-blown demonstration of a Class A pre-trip, enter 'CDL College Class A' in the RUclips search field. Stay safe out there.

Just Awesome! Thank you. I was nervous about my Pre-Trip inspection and in cab but this has helped beyond measures! I'm glad I can see the actual parts and call them out and what needs to be done without having to be on the yard! Thx again!
That's an excellent compliment, Kisha! Thank you for the time and for watching. Glad to help.
Thanks for all the videos. I went to CDL school 5 years ago, but due to circumstances I was unable to work as a driver at the time. 5 years later and I can now do so, I still have my Class A, but it's been so long I've forgotten most of it. Your videos are very informative and will help me not look like an idiot during training with my new company. Thanks again.
Good story, RBT. Thank you for sharing, watching, and learning.

Thank you so much you guys what I did is screen shot the photos on my phone and then print them out at walgreens and use them as flash cards.
Lovely name, miss. Very creative solution, also! Good for you. Thank you for watching and learning from our video.
Wonderful practice of pre trip inspection.

Best ever video I have seen up till today
Had to figure out a way for you guys to test yourselves while sitting on your couch. Glad to help you, Ghulam. Thank you for commenting.
I find this video to be more helpful then the others. Shows you each piece in order, with description. Sometimes less talking and more showing is better. Thanks guys👍
Thank you, alonzo! This video was an experiment. Glad you found it helpful and thank you for watching and commenting.
This really helped me out! I passed my California Class A test! There are some differences since I tested in CA. For example, I had to say that there cannot be more than 2" of play on the slack adjusters when brake force is applied.
Did not know that! We're pretty sure that all of the states are SUPPOSED to be on the same page as of July 2015. Not sure why Cali took a different road...
it is best thing for revising ,,,, 200% Perfect work ,,,,, EVEN i am going to give this info to my school
Thanks, Neil!
You are one the best instructor In The world
Thank you, Gurpreet! Glad to help.
thanks for reposting....
You're welcome, Reginald. Thank you for watching.
Please post a video about Hot Shot pickups and trailers
Love this video it is the best instruction for this pre-trip inspection. And I want to go to your school but now I see you are closed. Are you going to come back? Or what school is similar to yours that you can lead me to? Thank you
You are the best instructor in the world I got HR Australian license with the help of ur uploaded reversing parrell park and straight back everthing which includes a maneouvers was done . Thanks once again people. Now I want to be a good driver
Always watch your trailer when turning. New drivers forget to watch their trailer.
Thank you for viewing our video, Gurpreet.
CDL College, LLC by the way in which country u are
Colorado country, Planet Earth. (USA...)
This video is awesome, thank you for putting this together.
I'm just unsure of one item...
I would really like to know how someone can tell the PSI with a mallet. Is it an audible thing? Can you really tell if a tire is under by 10-15 psi?
great info looking forward to my test on monday
Очень советую!!! 5 stars!
5 out of 5. We can't ask for more. Thank you!
❤❤❤
Does anyone know where trainer Mike Ford is now? Is he working somewhere else as an instructor? Thanks in advance for any information. Frank
❤️
Why did you not do the tug test on both the tractor and trailer. You tugged on the yellow out (tractor); left the red in but did not reverse the red and yellow and test the trailer spring breaks. Am I wrong or did I miss something?
Testing the trailer brake is not part of the CDL Skills Test. Thank you for your question, Les.
p.s. different schools teach parts of the Skills Test different ways. Example: we still teach our students the air compressor test at the end of the Brake Check, but it's not required to pass the Skills Test.
How many people passed using this video? and did it get easy using this video and watching over and over agin? Is it easy in front of the tester.
I tried for a Class 1 (Canadian Version of a USA Class A) in mid 2000s. Wish I had finished it! -- I really would love to go back; especially after watching the shifting videos and this Pre Trip Inspection SELF TEST here. Spectacular tips and information. Anybody know if there are Canadian Companies that "train-on-the-job" like I have seen with Prime for example??
Thanks, Paul!
Most trucking companies utilize on-the-job training for new drivers.
In Canada too? But do I need to have Class 1 education and certification from a truck driver educational facility first? The last time I tried I had to get a $10,000 loan for a course (classroom/on-the-road) before a trucking company would even consider me. In fact I JUST paid that loan off and never took the course (another story).
I currently have a Class 2 license with air brake endorsement allowing me to drive anything but a motorcycle and tractor-trailer.
👍👍
Thanks, bongi!
Not required to mention the DOT bumper, just the tape, I was told?
Do what you were told. Thanks, miss.
why not do it anyway an b safe.. :)
can't read the words, to small and blurry, might be my pos phone though
Why do they say no more than 1/2" to 3/4" play in the alt belt, instead of just saying no more than 3/4"? Does it vary by manufacturer, or??
Tolerance. If the belt is too tight, it will break. Some play is OK (1/2"), but too much is not good (more than 3/4").
CDL College, LLC ok that makes sense. I'm glad I asked, that's been bugging me everytime I hear that. Lol Thanks for replying!
👌👍👏
