Excellent mini series Stephen. You certainly captured what makes Donegal one of the finest counties in Ireland. I used to climb Muckish when I was in the scouts over 40 years ago. Definitely brings back fond memories. Thanks for sharing
Wow! That eagle wasn't gonna share air space with nobody. I was once eating a sandwich and was whooshed by a Red Kite, I felt so privileged, magnificent creatures birds of prey. Thanks for sharing this !
Loved this, climbed Muckish several years ago via the same route. We planned to summit camp on it, but I’d never been up it before. There wasn’t a lot of ground that wasn’t covered in rocks but we managed it. The next day we descended to Muckish Gap. It was a long journey to get back round to the start on those bog roads. Fun times and full of adventure.
Just watched all 3 of your videos from your donegal adventure! As a family we are normaly IN the outdoors, but today was just too wet, so your videos were the next best thing! Looked fantastic, brilliantly filmed/presented, and had our daughter in fits of laughter at your attempt at reversing and turning your van! 🤦♂️🤣....thanks for brightening up a very wet sunday afternoon 👍
Haha this made my day! I was a little disappointed with how some of those videos performed so really happy to know that people are still finding them. 🙂 I still have scratches on the van from that day!
Stephen (Frodo Baggins 😅😂) Great video. What an epic location! Love it!!! Your video editing, music and on camera presence is really good! I definitely need to explore Irelands mountains and coast lines.
So many familiar places in these Donegal videos and you did a terrific job of capturing just how beautiful that part of Ireland is! Though I have only ever looked at those mountains from down at the bottom so watching this definitely has me thinking I should remedy that.
Made me laugh that Stephen as it brought back similar memories. Last year my wife was dropping me there for a hike and we done the Google maps thing too, absolute nightmare! Even got the same looks from some locals😂 Great video btw, loved the variety of shots, colour grading and the speed ramping, pretty cool. ATB
@@StephenJReid my wife and I had spent the day there before doing Snowdon. I was blown away buy the scale of the place. I felt like a little kid again. Love you video btw, another cracker
Enjoyed watching this series of videos. Have you ever thought of doing the Seven Sisters run? It’s an amazing challenge. Maybe I’ll see you at the start line next year!
I’ve thought about it and didn’t get much further. 😂 the last year has made me really question whether I’m cut out for longer races like that. Was on off sick for 6months after Ring of Steall. I really struggle to commit to time to train properly without sacrificing a lot of other things.
Your channel is brilliant. Im subbed and from dublin. .i wana do all the things you are doing in ireland. Well dome keep up the great content of ireland... # wrap a starry plough around me
always a good Watch Keep up the good work _ ps I've ran up that Trail many of times filming and racing… best part of the Seven Sisters. You should have gone to the cross as it was so close to the summit…
03:15 If a road looks dodgy and you have a fair bit to go, It's worth using satelite or street view to get an idea of whats ahead. If there is no street view, likely your on a bog track (at least in parts like this) or a private road. You woulda gotten over the last bit.. just needed to maybe move a few rocks to even it out a bit on the left. Vs reversing back and trying to turn in bog.. Bit of track building goes a long way 😀 I bounce my way around these roads 6 days a week. Always stunning and when it's bright and sunny and the tide is right, beaches like you would be in the Med with the vibrancy of the water. And there are a tonne of spots like that all the way from Downings to Ardara, The Costa Del Donegal, Love it. Not as spectacular or enjoyable to be in but even when the weather closes in, there is a certain mysterious quality to a scene. Love the miners path but the "more boring side" offers much better views IMO (not that you got to see them at the summit). Muckish > Errigal, especialy on a busy day.
Ha! Had the same Google maps problem last year. Thankfully figured out it was taking me the wrong way a bit earlier than you. Great spot once you get to the right place! 😂
Who knows what they awakened in the deep. 🙂 I spent a couple of summers playing WoW. Wasn’t particularly good at it but I love the exploration side of it.
10:53- Y’got me in the nostalgia on this, y’clever devil ya. I knew there was a reason why your style of videography and story telling resonated with me and I think this is may be where some of that influence seeps in. That’ll do 🥲
Thanks for yet another great video! Loved the LOTR and WoW references! I did feel a lot like Sam climbing Mordor when I was on the Italian Alps! 😂
Haha thanks, might have to let the nerdy side out more often!

Bet a camp up there would be amazing. Although perhaps in better weather!

Thanks Barnabas 🙂 I’m still just scratching the surface of places to explore here
Brilliant stuff, love watching.❤❤
Thanks Alan!
Awesome video 👍
One of my fav hikes the Miners Path, just stunning
It's very different from most places I've hiked, its an odd mixture of the natural and unnatural

Thanks! Planning to get back again this year 🙂
Love the video as usual Stephen, you always capture amazing footage.
Thanks Nigel 🙂
Great film, really makes me want to visit from England!

With the edit and think it shows
Stunning watch. Enjoyed this one very much
Thank you! 🙂
You need to try Dinorwic Quarry in North Wales. That place is next level
Was in Llanberis over the summer and was looking up at the quarry thinking it would be an incredible place to explore

Muckish is definitely my favourite, even though I'm yet to get the view from the top. Love the shot of 4 Stephens climbing a mountain.
It’s useful having a spare Stephen or two 😁
Drove down the exact road for this. Ended up hiking an additional 5km to protect the axels
Excellent vid, enjoyed it alot...a bit of trivia, my dad actually hang glided of Muckish in 1976😊
brilliant wee explore. some of those paths looked scary
yeah its a bit hairy in place!
The Miners track is a fantastic hike, alright! Some great footage there, Stephen.
Can't believe I nearly skipped it thinking it would be boring!
@@StephenJReid anything but! Good call not to skip it.

Thanks! 🙂

Thanks Ajay 🙂
Feels like a new vibe. I like it
What way? You mean the style of the video?

Been experimenting for several years trying to find a develop a style. Feel like I’m slowly getting there. Glad you noticed!

I was majestic!

Hhmm, once this started I thought I might give it a miss, 🤔 turned out alright though. really enjoyed the atmosphere of it all. 👍🏻
what made you initially think of giving it a miss? Glad you enjoyed it in the end

next time 5 Stephens! 🤣
@0:12 Mountain overhang peering as a sport. No, just NO.
I wouldn’t call it a sport as such
Took me 11 months to discover this video and say its Mèlon not Meloc.
It would have opened if you said the right thing.... shame.
