    Excellent video! I saw for the first time a video of a Stereolithography printer in action 5 minutes ago, and I was stupefied and thought "it will probably take me a while to figure out how this alien-like manufacturing process is working". This video ousted any ambiguity in less than 2 minutes.

    I don’t think it’s quite fast or large-scale enough to take off as much as FDM yet, but the unmatchable quality that it brings will definitely make it the future of 3D printing, especially where detail is essential.

    Are there SLA resins that can withstand submersion in ethanol?

  • @jouss955

    in order to make the flower, the pilars to hold it, would one have to make the pilars in the model right? or it automatically designs a series or holding structures?

    • @HKinks
      @HKinks 7 лет назад +3

      Yes, there is software that generates these structures for you. Just might need configuration on your part.

    The hammer test wasn’t revealing of the critical function of a carabiner - it’s tensile strength

    • @MrD10de
      @MrD10de 5 лет назад +13

      But the point of the hammer was to test the resin, not the carabiner. If you're ever relying a home-made carabiner to support the weight of a human on a climb, you're probably about to have a very bad day.

    Thanks for the video. Is Filament Printing same as FDM?

      Yes. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is another name for Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF).

    This printer is an absolute disaster for commercial use. We've been using it in our business for 1 year now and have trouble with it every 2 or 3 weeks: tanks not recognized, cartrdiges not recognized, non adherance to the build platform. We also had to have the optical system recalibrateDon't get me wrong: when it prints it does a fantastic job, but this machine has some serious reliability issues... We're going to look for another (proffesional) brand.

    And yet, no great rush to point out how the printer that works 500% better costs 500% more. You get what you pay for.

    • @DJGuppy321
      @DJGuppy321 9 лет назад

      +Volguus I don't know what you're talking about. A *nice* filament printer of build quality similar to this one (will still have lower resolution) will cost you about 2000-2500 usd. This costs 3500 about 50-75% more expensive.

    • @Volguus
      @Volguus 9 лет назад

      +DJGuppy321 I could specify that I am a technical guy so kits don't scare me, thus I got a Velleman K8400 Vertex for 700 Euro. It performs just as good (sometimes better) as Ultimaker and Zortrax and the 2000-3000 Euro FFF printers you're thinking of. So for me the Form1+/Form2 is indeed 500% more and I would certainly expect for that increase (or even the "small" 50-75% increase you quote) that quality is much better!

    yeah definitely makes sense to test a carabiner by hitting it with a hammer, not testing it for intended use.
