- My first basketball game day of the season and as a wife! Join me from the alarm clock to the final buzzer!
It's weird being on the other side (after being a professional athlete for 10 years myself!) and now being the supporter, but I'm enjoying the journey and the new adventures it's bringing! I brought you along the whole day, what did you think?!

The guy on the building is Tsuyoshi Shinjoh, former NPB and MLB player, and current manager of the Nippon Ham Fighters. He has an ego a mile wide, but is also a showman. The big Yoyogi arena (Yoyogi 1) is often where the Japanese volleyball team (men and women) play their tournaments. Yoyogi sub arena (Yoyogi 2) is the small one to the west and seats like 3,000. Outside of baseball, Japanese arena food vending leaves a lot to be desired. In 2018, the Nagoya venue only had one food vendor in the arena. It was easier to bring our own food in and snacks.
Yoyogi was a swimming/diving venue in 1964, so when I saw the first grand champions cup in 1993, you could still see the diving platforms at one end of the arena. I think that they took them out in the rebuild for 2020 games.
Very interesting. So great that you play regularly in that historical arena.

Pretty cool video. So is basketball a popular sport in Japan or still in infancy and growing?
