Not to mention she didn't react all that well when Carol was around Jun.

However, Jun is for whatever reason just really struggling internally to accept Tomo in a romantic, sex appealing way. So he doesn't like it when Misaki was about to tell Tomo that Jun does in-fact see her as a proper girl, hes just being a little boy about it, needs to 'Man up' so to speak.
He does, but thisis still early in the manga. Episode 1and 2 are basically just the first volume. Episode 3 and 4 are basically the second volume. By the time Episode 6 is out its only volume 4. I believe there are 4 more volumes to go after that.

Man, I didn't know so many people don't like Jun. He's one of my favorite RomCom male leads.
He's both hilarious and understandable.
He's like Butters from South Park. There's no reason for the show itself to hate him, but it does. That's why we love him.

Well, I think one of the reason is that he is only affectionate towards Tomo while quick to show hostility towards others.
The funny thing is that in these stories the tomboy girl always ends up with the shota due to the stereotype of "opposites attract..." but the thing is that .... tomo has never seen Misaki as a man.. and she loves jun who is very similar to tomo, that's why they get along too but at the same time they have their conflicts as they are very stubborn when they want to do things their way
Jun and Tomo are opposites too, Jun used to be a cowardly gamer boy who spent a lot of time inside, is because Tomo befriended him that he became so athletic. He is smart while Tomo is kind of on the dumber side. They are both innocent and competitive tho.

Jun at the start of the final episode: a true bro that has travelled a long path just to reach his goal, he deserves to get it.

Because he kind of sucks just looking at the general premise of this show. He doesn't want to let Tomo know that he knows she's a girl (how could he not know) because he's afraid/conflicted, but he automatically feels in competition when he finds out the blonde dude is a dude. And then gets violent as a way to establish dominance/ownership over Tomo.
The show looks fun, but honestly him, and the entire premise that Tomo needs to "girl it up" for Jun, make me not want to watch, myself. That, and commenters arguing guy/girl dynamics when people are just people.

Or did you just forget the part where Jun and Tomo finally went out on date despite the fact that Tomo never "girl it up," which is fyi, the ending of the anime? Or the fact that the idea of "girling it up" was all in Tomo's head and the show never really supported that idea and shows Tomo being a badass with Jun even respecting the hell out of her for it?

honestly the hardest part about this anime is Jun. Due is so fking akward and violent for no reason. I always hated those tropes where the main lead or side lead is fking violent for no reason whatsoever.
I've read kengan ashura a manga about fighting to the death in a tournament and those characters have more restain than Jun does and a couple of those characters are assassins and psychpaths. Seeing this guy punch people without a valid reason really annoys me.

Read the manga. His character shows more development, and you get a glimpse of his thinking. It starts to show in around volume 3 or 4.

Also, his development is pretty bad already if the response he gives to Gundo is physically abusing her with flicks and pushing her in rain. On top of that, he has no respect for any girls, nor does he acknowledge the only girl that likes him, treats her as a man-buddy, making her confused.
This guy deserves to be on his own. He himself desires and his actions show he is not worth the time and effort. The only reason even Tomo sticks around him is because he was a childhood friend. That's all he has going for him. Literally, any other guy could take her away, any day. But knowing Jun, he would just default to intimidation and fighting the other guy to scare him away. That's disgusting.
