I disagree with Bahiyyih. I actually think she had good solo moments in the performance. Unfortunately, I agree that xiaoting had less presence in terms of clear solo moments. Almost all beauty shots. She definitely got the end of the stick.
I actually understand now, why she always got the least lyrics of all member, you can hear that when she sing, 1:57 her tone isnt that nice and energy didnt match the other, its kinda weak if i wanna say.. But her other part, 2:09 when she just talk, not singing.. its the best, really suit her voice. I think she suit a rap/talk lyric more than vocal lyric.

People are saying that mnet edited & smoothed their live vocals (Chaehyn had a small voice crack) so it is possible hers became weaker after the edit. Either way, if it was truly weak even without the edit, then I think she just needs to practice on projecting her voice more to be louder & she will sound amazing. Despite typically having short lines. I think they gave her more parts in this performance specifically because its a dance heavy performance which requires vocal stability. She is known to be stable so they gave her that part. She also nailed her facial expressions in her parts too so she definitely deserved the screen time.

Dayeon being pressured to be vocal, but you have to admit that dayeon is more stable than chae. And for me the one who ate with her vowel was Mashiro she is extremely stable. Some of the girls didn’t get the chance to fully show their potential, when they clearly fitted the song better. Chaehyun and Dayeon had the chance many times and they SLAYED. But this time the song wasn’t the best match and that’s okay and normal! I also acknowledge that they most likely had no choice when it came to line distribution.

It's very clear that mnet/ wake one is trying to push Dayeon as a lead vocalist but I honestly prefer her more as a rapper. Don't get me wrong she has a strong voice but there are other members who I think would've suited the vocal parts more. And tbh Kep1er has quite good vocalists, all members have very talented its just that the company is not using their talent properly. Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Youngeun and Hikaru have soft yet powerful vocals. I was actually really surprised by how sweet XT and HK's voice are, cause most of the time they either get rap singing type parts or so less lines that they can't fully showcase their skills, they honestly deserve more lines and appreciation. Dayeon and Mashiro have strong and bit deeper vocal tone than the other members (but it's not as deep as J from Stayc or Dami from Dreamcatcher.) Yujin and Yeseo have that type of voice which is perfect for cute/bubbly type of songs. Bahiyyih has the most distinct and unique voice in Kep1er. Which is why it is sometimes hard to blend with those sweet vocals which most of the members have. And tbh her voice is really beautiful it's just the lines and their songs don't do justice to her voice. We need her solo or a duo cover with Hikaru asap.
As a Hiyyihlight, I am honestly content with the lines she got! Let’s be honest, her vocal tone did not fit the song, but she got a center part. Whereas Wadada was trashy, this one was a good step up. Xiaoting had small lines as well but the camera constantly went to her so I didn’t feel like she wasn’t there. Overall, it was good! I didn't know this band, at all, until today this video was in my recommendeds because I've been listening to SNSD too much lately :D I love these girls' version of this iconic song! I'm not familiar with any of the members like I said but the girl named Yeseo's line delivery on 00:56-01:03 was so smooth and beautiful. Hikaru's rap was also spot on. I think this is a gem! Idk why dayeon has so many vocal lines, she’s not even in the top 5 vocalists in the group.. no hate to her but I feel like the producer kinda did her dirty by giving her so many lines out of her range.. Edit: I never said she can’t sing 😭 Her first line in the prechorus was good but pretty much everything after was messy. Also stability and high notes is not everything when it comes to singing. But her stability is very impressive. Youngeun, Mashrio, yujin and yeseo are more capable singers than her so it’s a little odd that she usually gets more lines than them. I’m not hating on Dayeon, she’s easily one of the best performers in this generation. And she has tons of potential to improve.
As much as I like Chaehyun's singing voice, her high notes had been unstable from the onslaught~ It's getting irritating hearing her shaky high notes that either sounds uncomfortable, being too pitchy, or not hitting it entirely. to be honest, it irritates me that chaehyun and dayeon get so many lines. i understand why, and it appeals to the audience, but it take away from the group's overall distribution. chaehyun could have probably strained less in her 'my heart' high note if she had to sing less, and dayeon had so many heavy dance parts that it was definitely uncomfortable to sing that much. her first long/high note was edited, and if you pay close attention, you hear the point where her voice cracks.

And ya'll know that its not because of ability/ talent / skill or anything this is a business strategy. 2 girls who gets the most lines, screen time, center and solo activities are already a part of Wakeone. Among them One of them is not center material at all and the other is the worst vocalist in kep1er but still they get all the parts cause at the end of the day Kep1er is a temporary group and all the members will go to different ways and this won't profit the company at all, the only thing which will give them profit is if the idols from their company gets popular which is why this is the state of Kep1er.

Idk why dayeon has so many vocal lines, she’s not even in the top 5 vocalists in the group.. no hate to her but I feel like the producer kinda did her dirty by giving her so many lines out of her range..
Edit: I never said she can’t sing 😭 Her first line in the prechorus was good but pretty much everything after was messy. Also stability and high notes is not everything when it comes to singing. But her stability is very impressive. Youngeun, Mashrio, yujin and yeseo are more capable singers than her so it’s a little odd that she usually gets more lines than them. I’m not hating on Dayeon, she’s easily one of the best performers in this generation. And she has tons of potential to improve.

to be honest, it irritates me that chaehyun and dayeon get so many lines. i understand why, and it appeals to the audience, but it take away from the group's overall distribution. chaehyun could have probably strained less in her 'my heart' high note if she had to sing less, and dayeon had so many heavy dance parts that it was definitely uncomfortable to sing that much. her first long/high note was edited, and if you pay close attention, you hear the point where her voice cracks.

Taeyeon was a fully fledged idol when she sang that song. Chaehyun is not, she’s only been an idol for little bit over 100 days. No one in Kepler could sing the way she does

You literally said Dayeon’s voice cracked and that them having a lot of lines takes away from the overall groups distribution. She didn’t crack, and like I said Chaehyun was the only person who could do the lines she had. Those lines were gonna be hers the minute they chose this song. The line distribution can’t be fair when there’s a wide skill gap in vocals. It’s that simple. If them getting more lines “irritates” you then tell some of the other members of the group to get more vocal lessons.
