Holy smokes! I had no idea this was even possible as we have a dumb older Camry like this one. I was actually searching for the location where the actual beeper/speaker was and was planning on going on the brute force route by just disabling it by cutting the power wire to it. Its like a god damn video game cheat code (Up down up down left right do a backflip ten jumping jacks and then press a). Good times with my old 2007 Corolla. Now on my current car everything is coded and I use VCDS to change settings. I think Toyota does now as well with Toyota Techstream.

You don't say when to take the key back out of the ignition. I can't get out and lock the door to test it with key in ignition. I'm having trouble with this procedure not working. Please state when to take key out of ignition. Mine won't beep as it should to show it's working. Thanks.

I have a 2003 Corolla and it happened to be disabled just like that for long time 😎 today it got enabled again and I don't know how 🤔 one thing I noticed when it's enabled the vibration sensors are activated also, which means my alarm goes off everytime a garbage truck passes by or if someone playing loud music close to my car... I wanted to disable it that's how I ended up here. BUT this method didn't work for me

Hey I have a 08 corolla that’s driving me nuts trying to figure out whether it’s locked or unlocked because my keyfob DOESNT make a beep or chirp when I press it. Tired of playing the guessing game whether or not I’ve locked or unlocked the car. It’s the LE trim, if that helps.
So far my searches have turned up null for this particular car, oddly enough. It’s a super common car so I’m not sure why there isn’t anything on how to turn the beep on and off. Everything I’ve found so far is either for a different car (this video included) or for a different company completely! This is driving me up a wall, please lmk how to enable the beep on lock/unlock!

I have got a 2007 9th Gen Corolla that honks when I lock/unlock the car with the factory alarm. Your method didn't work, can you suggest another method? Also, where do you find this info ?

@@paulgator68 I moved my bed to another room because it was so bad so it’s all good now 🙂 I live in a multi unit building and the original room my bed was in is literal feet from where people park. I like to have fresh air when I sleep so I prefer to have the window open. The proximity to parked cars plus window cracked was brutal. I’d of asked the person to politely chill but I never knew who it was. Used to happen between 10:30 and 12:00 every single night. Can’t wait to move out of the city 🙃

Is there a way to disable the chirp or honk when unlocking, but keep the honk when locking?
The "unlock" chirp/honk is always just annoying. But the "lock" honk can be useful to find your car in a parking lot. (If it's late evening or early morning and you want to lock the car without disturbing the neighbors you can just use the lock button on the door, before closing the door.)
You can use the red panic button to find your car

Would this work on a Lexus ES 2005, just like this Camry but the remote and key is all in one. Do you have to take key out of ignition to press the remote twice?
I've always wondered why people would NOT want it to beep. Does it make you cooler or something haha. Stealthy, classy? I'm a form follows function kind of person and I'm glad mine beeps because it assures me that I locked it. I like the satisfying sound of imminent safety. Lol

imagine if someone has a dog or has a hard time sleeping and their neighbor(s) have a vehicle that beeps.
Because when your neighbor has some kind of fetish for beeping it at midnight. Going in and out of their car and can't seem to figure out that the car is locked when they hear the beep and need to hit it again for some unknown reason. Yeah, it's hell of annoying. That's why. You like to sound of imminent safety? Just lock your door like everyone used to before they leave the car, and turn off the annoying beep. Of course you don't care if it annoys your neighbors.

Jump up and down on one leg while singing any song of your church. Do that for 30 seconds and the chirp when setting the alarm will stop.

Howdy. I tried this on my 2007 Toyota Sienna. After the 10 second pause, I clicked the Lock button on my key fob and I got a continuous beep until I clicked on the Unlock button on the key fob. I still get the beep when I lock and unlock the doors with the key fob. Are there any other steps with a Sienna? Thanks!

@@fixinit I turned mine off in a different way. My toyota car (Scion tC) has the pushbutton start. But I noticed that the chirp sound comes from a small gray chirp box that is in the left front wheel well. Jack up the car, take the wheel off, remove the inner plastic wheel well, and disconnect the chirper. And if I ever want to turn it back on, I can just plug it back in.

My 2018 Camry hybrid LE stopped making that Lock unlock beeping sound. The key battery was little low but I changed it. Still there is no sound for locking and unlocking doors. Everything else works fine, the lights work while locking or unlocking doors as well. Need help. Thanks.

Could be several things. A bad fob, actuator, solenoid, fuse, switch, wiring. Hopefully someone here had this problem and can chime in with a solution.

Yup. It killed the battery. Charge the battery or jump it to get it started. Then just disconnect the negative battery cable when you are not using the car.

When Horn chirp is enabled, the vehicle horn will chirp on locking and unlocking the vehicle, to enable or disable the horn chirp:
1. Turn headlight switch "OFF"
2. Cycle the ignition switch from "LOCK" to "ON" three times (within 5 seconds) leaving it "ON"
3. The vehicle security indicator will illuminate continuously for 5 seconds
4. During the time the indicator is illuminated, operate the horn(for 1 second). The turn signals will flash once to confirm successful programming.
5. Turn ignition switch to "LOCK" and test system with the remote controls.

I just ended up removing my "Horn Fuse" that's underneath the hood in the fuse box & the problem got fixed just don't have a horn now 😂😂
