Well you know a fandom is royally f_cked when literal p0rn is considered tame compared to whatever else is happening
"They'd rather hate on it than go love something else."
That's a mood.
I mean yeah, if you are emotionally invested in something you dont tend to just abandon that investment.
It's ok to leave something you are invested in even if it has been for a long time. I stopped playing any of the later Halo games after 4 came out. In this case I wouldn't even say the later halo games were even objectively bad. 4, 5 and 6 were objectively pretty good games in their own right. I just personally didn't like them and preferred the original bungie games. There is never going to be another Halo 3 and I accept that.
The Arbiter is gonna be in Hazbin Hotel and will probably make out with Angel Dust at some point, so at least we have that to look forward to.
@@GusOfTheDorks
Its so true though, we have a lot of indie shows on here im sure they could just pick something else instead of bitching. Theres murder drones, helluva boss (which takes place in the same universe), the amazing digital circus just released, metarunners (finished i think tho-) and definetly some more i havent named
"That's a mood, Gabriella"
It's like the Velma show. Rather than bring light to other shows that need it (like Scavengers Reign, Pantheon, etc.), people would just rather consume more and hate-watch. I guess that's the attitude that we need to start changing, but I guess it's impossible to argue with terminally online people nowadays.
I honestly never had high expectations of both Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, I just simply sit back, relax and wait for the episodes release and see what Vivziepop has to offer which so far has been more good than bad.
Me too
Same
Hear hear!
While I initially had higher expectations for both shows, I’ve since realized how hard it is to make this stuff and now take this approach.
The only expectation I have with the show(s) is that I'll have fun watching them, and well... Helluva Boss hasn't let me down so far! Yes, even the episodes that the fandom seem to think are bad. Despite the fact that Moxxie's teenage girl persona in Unhappy Campers made me cringe _so hard,_ but I'm pretty sure that was the reaction they were going for.
OH, one thing I've heard recently: you shouldn't feel bad for enjoying Hazbin or Helluva Boss because of the "fanbase". You can enjoy something without having to partake in the fandom or online space, just enjoy it! You're allowed to enjoy shows/movies/books/creators without being in the fandom.
This statement helped me feel better as someone who doesn't partake in online soaces that much, so someone may need to hear it. Just have fun :)
Definitely agree! Just because some people in a fandom are toxic shouldn't impede someone from enjoying artwork/media. It's pretty much the equivalent of religious freedom. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So true, I really don't like when ppl say the fandom "ruined" something for them, cause, like, really?? The only ppl I Can understand feeling this way would be the actual creators since it's actually Their audience and it can be overwhelming
This exactly.
i didnt even know the fandom was bad😭 i partake in the fandom a bit but just like for fanfics
The thing I'm also scared of is the industry wide problem that's only been getting worse and worse since the 2000s, Studio Meddling. Spindle Horse will want to do their thing, but the ones that are paying the bills may say "Yeah, that's good, but we want this. We know it's you're show, but we keep the lights on, so we want this to be this, and that character to behave differently, oh and that side story, scrap it for this, because WE feel it's better".
The Studio itself could do more harm than anyone, and with members of the fandom waiting to pounce, it will just me like adding petroleum to an already burning oil fire that started when a lithium battery made contact with it just as the battery ruptured and exploded
This!! You put it perfectly! My main concern isn't that it's not going to be the show I dreamed of from the pilot/Addicted but that the show Spindlehorse/ Vivziepop actually wanted to make is going to be buried under studio demands and meddling.
I love Hellva Boss. Its my comfort show and has brought me alot of good moments. If Hazbin Hotel is even half as good I'll be happy. Yes, Helluva Boss isn't perfect you can tell there's a lot of love and creativity that has been put into it and that's all I really want for Hazbin.
Viv did say that A24 did a good job with the show
A lot of movies and TV shows were ruined that way
@@MASTEROFEVIL Many more weren't.
That's been a problem in art since sponsorship was invented. Plenty of renowned artists had to bow to their sponsors, usually to buy the freedom to finish their pet projects.
As a person without twitter its fascinating to see this fandom jump between obsession, anger and hornyness
Same here man
It's one reason why I'm never getting Xitter: angry online debates. Well, that and the obvious thing, of course...
One of the biggest reasons why not everyone deserves a platform and how it shouldn't be normalized to post every damn thought or opinion.
I was a bit confused, I've known that people give Hazbin shit, but I never realized it was showbreaking levels of bad.
Then I realized this was all on twitter and suddenly it all made sense. It's amazing how much drama one can avoid by not having a twitter. 😂
I don't have Twitter mainly 'cause of privacy reasons. I don't trust it.
"Stop looking for the show you've built up in your head and try and love the show you're being given."
Wiser words were never spoken. Too many people these days are very "all or nothing" when it comes to what they like; it has to be completely perfect, *exactly* as they imagined it or it's worthless.
Just enjoy the show and if you really want to keep your headcanon, go write a friggin' fanfic as a release valve.
Does that mean i can write a story deprived of themes, symbolism and full of plot twist with no build up? I can give shitty conclusion to interesting plot line? OMG I DIDN'T KNOW😍😍😍
Not sayin Helluva or Hasbin is like this but it's what your comment sounds like.
@@pahradahdinanini Then you need to go back to grade school and learn basic reading comprehension.
"it has to be completely perfect, exactly as they imagined it or it's worthless." means there are people out there who look at the tiniest disagreement they have with the product and go on a rampage because it doesn't cater to literally every take they have.
Nowhere do I say any show, anywhere, should be free from all criticism. I'm saying that no show can perfectly cater to everyone's desires 100% of the time and the fans need to accept that sometimes a show is going to make choices that you may not agree with. That is no reason to start harassing the community or the creators.
Heck, I was a Zutara shipper back in the day and thought Kataang wasn't a very good ship; did I suddenly hate the show? Of course not, I accepted it and enjoyed the rest of the ride and still think it was one of the best animated shows of all time.
*That* is what I mean. Legit criticism is one thing, being mad because the creators didn't pander to your specific ship or interpretation of a character and then lashing out about it is childish at best, downright creepy at worst depending on how far you take it.
That might be because loving something or hating it is a very simple concept. Shades of gray and something else than extremes are more complicated. Why would you spend time on formulating something more complex when it isn't your livelihood on the line? It's very unfair, but such is life.
EXACTLY! Headcanons are those, headcanons, which you can put in fanfic as much as you want. Would it be nice to be canon? Yes, but if it's not canon, does that mean I should hate on the show? No, because that one thing might not be major enough to warrant a hatred for the entire series and probably has tons of good stuff that beats the con.
@@pahradahdinanini It is completely understandable to dislike and criticize a show but you should base said opinion and criticism on the actual show itself and not on how the show doesn't line up with some fantastical exceptations built up over several years after seeing the pilot.
I’m just happy to be in this odd generation of Indie animation and stories that wouldn’t be brought to life otherwise. So many people have ideas that could potentially be brought to the world. Nothing is perfect, lots of things can go to sh!t quickly, yet we have to appreciate what we do have.
Esp in recent years where the decline of DVDs basically made studios afraid to take risks; and Disney basically buying every IP to avoid bankruptcy
As a fan since the pilot for both shows were released, I am super excited for both shows to progress and show the story that Vivienne wants to display. I don’t want the fandom to ruin these shows. I love these shows. I’d hate to see them fall because some “creepzos” kept opening their mouths
Same! I just joined the fandom after finding out about the Hazbin Hotel pilot and now I don't really care how long it takes for Hazbin Hotel to come out (about a month and I'm so fxcking excited!!). I watched Helluva Boss and it was amazing, I wanna see more of the humor and artstyle that I grew to love despite what people say, I love the artstyle, the humor, the uniqueness of both the series.
I would honestly worship anyone who could show me a non-toxic fandom
True once a series/fandom gets very big, it's always getting visible wether it's shippers or people who make a waifu competition (One Piece💀)
There’s so few if any out there
the fandom that is blind to its own toxicity be like:
There's the fandom for Mr.Rogers. Nobody don't wanna mess with that guy without getting "kicked out of the neighborhood"
Hollow Knight fans are pretty chill, besides slowly descending into shitpost insanity as they wait for the sequel
Ive been a fan of Vivzipop's work for a decade at least and I have actively avoided the fandom. My fandom days died at the same time i left Tumblr. I regret how rabid I was in my Tumblr days, have swallowed the ptsd, grown and moved on. I just want to enjoy the things I like. Thank the creators for their hard work. And go home. Too old for drama. I look forward to every episode and while sometimes i wish certain things would happen I am a passenger on this train and if i dont like it i can always get off at the next station.
You're the most mature person I've seen in like a fat minute. Thank you genuinely cause yeah same here dude.
@@0dragonhearted068 you wanna hear my hazbin hotel ocs?
@@voxthetvdemon1030No
Honestly, there's nothing wrong with being part of a fandom, but you should always try to avoid the worst parts and enjoys anything good out of it. I'm in one based around a book series, centered around dragon characters. It has a fandom and there is shit in it, but also a lot of good thing in it too. I have a some headcanons here and there and I felt disappointed that it will only remain headcanons. The only difference between me and the extreme morons, is that I accepted it that it will never happen how I want, while others are too dumb to accept that it will never be like they want. You can make OCs which I have from the fandom i have mentioned, and interact with it with people who loves that kinda stuff too. But never become like those crazy mfs who think they should own everything. This is what I am. A decent person who likes making OCs, depending on the fandom it is about, I interact with some fandoms, I eat a lot of fanfictions if they are pretty fun to read and not terrible, and I give the middle finger to anyone who only brings negative to everything. Cuz seeing them loosing it over what they didn't get is Heeeella fun.
@@skaynne54 I wasnt talking to you
Hatedom is a good word to describe these types of people. Instead of avoiding the dumpster fire, they just wanna add gas to the fire and then complain about the fire. But I always wonder why does this happen? Why no just go find something you like? I chalk it up to the 'Complaining about the weather' phenomenon, it's somehow more relatable to bond with someone over something bad rather than something good.
It's a dog that eats his own tail. Fans just so happen to like something to the point to become toxic for it and people are going to talk bad about the show because of the toxic fans to the point their negative opinion becomes too frequent, so people are going to antagonize them and so on
I call it the Fandom Menace.
It's "Fans" who complain about the dumbest shit in media. Like a movie being too "woke" because of minority representation. If someone uses "woke" in their argument, they immediately invalidate themselves.
Also desperate clout/attention seeking chasers
I'll chalk it up to Twitter culture, because tweets favour opinions and it doesn't take much for people to find new reasons to try and cancel the show. Just 3 days after the reveal of the Hazbin Prime trailer, haters tried to cancel Vivziepop by implying she funded all her work through nepotism, and they ran with that story for a few days until it was revealed they were all believing a rumour.
All those tumblr pages who personnaly attack viv for no reason💀
“Antici-“ ad break “-pation” that was brilliant 😂
So as a Steven Universe enjoyer who never once engaged with or was even aware of any fandom discourse around it until after it had finished airing, I'm convinced that this is mainly an issue for the terminally online. Also, having rewatched Steven Universe in a binge after it had finished, the show actually feels really well-paced and consistent. So I feel like these kinds of problems are totally artificial ones that people create for themselves by obsessing over one piece of media and consuming fan content about it for years on end. Ironically, it seems like limiting your exposure to a thing to the thing itself, at least until after you've finished consuming it, seems to be the best way to preserve your enjoyment of a thing. Like, there are other things out there. Just don't obsess about one thing to the point that you burn yourself out and ruin it for yourself.
But yeah, I agree that indie animation fandom online seems uniquely vicious and hyperbolic, to a degree that far surpasses the normal amount you typically see in any fandom.
Eh, season 1 was pretty drawn out and slow. It was pretty much just slice of life at that point, so from a narrative point of view it was very slow paced. But other than that and the homeworld "arc" that everyone agrees was rushed (cartoon network's fault), it was very well paced, yeah.
I liked the show in the beginning loved it in the middle but it lost me near the end.
Towards the end it should’ve had a greater sense of urgency but it instead dumped it in favor of the marriage between Ruby and Sapphire which was alright, but it felt greatly out of place. They could’ve had it at the end but chose not to, that and the fact the shows ending felt really like they were speed running that shit. Every second of the show felt like it was preplanned until the end.
Agree on the limiting your exposure of a piece of media to preserve your enjoyment of it, and the whole " don't make something your whole personality " is an issue that seems to be very widespread these days.
@@rokva5771People are having chronic identity crisis nowadays especially after the lockdowns. That's not just in fandoms either.
Can we just like a show for what it is without judgement? I like HB and HH a lot, but it's Spindle Horse's creation, not mine.
Instructions unclear, now all my expectaitions and all my failures in life have been projected on this one hellish fun show
I’m glad you pointed out that Brandon hardly gets any hate and Viv gets all of it, even though Helluva Boss is a collaborative effort between the two. Not saying hating Brandon deserves hate, it just really just shows the bias people have when it comes to the creation of entertainment. If a woman wants to make a show, book, song or whatever, she has to be a perfect person with a perfect product. Which is impossible and not a standard that men are held to. It doesn’t even matter if she does everything the exact same way a man would, the woman will always be more harshly criticized.
What really gets me is when they pull up "receipts" on Viv for problematic things she's done in the past, and yet NOBODY pulls up receipts on Brandon. Despite the fact that he's been on RUclips since the very beginning, and is bound to have some off-color things he's said or done because of it.
I mean, people might just not know there’s two creators. People just know it as the other Vivziepop show rather than the Viv and Brandon show. Like, he is a pretty obscure og creator, I think most people just know he is Blitzø’s VA.
Brandon STILL says some of the most Twitter bait "offensive things" on RUclips and yet people go after vivzie for nothing? Brandon of course doesn't deserve hate but he is trying to be offensive in his humor! Fandoms are so strange... I hope vivzie never gives up despite the weirdos and straight up scary people.
@@ToastyNoneofyourbusiness Its always shocked me that nobody has tried to drag Brandon for some of the shit in his older videos. A lot of that was pretty bad even for the time. Not saying that he deserves it, but people attack Vivzie for way less but completely lose that energy for her male co-creator. Hell when the Blitz almost said the r-word in one episode, Vivzie got dragged even though Brandon has said it a lot in his older videos.
I'm not a hater but if I was I would've given most of my hatred to her instead I give her my adoration because it's her RUclips channel and I didn't know it was a collaborative effort In direction I just thought did blitzo's voice.
I honestly don't give a crap how long the videos take to story board, animate, voice record etc.
I'm just genuinely happy to be even be able watch and enjoy such a masterpiece of everyones amazing talents brought together into their creations.
It only feels like its been a few years since I watched hazbin hotel anyways.
I've been to busy with trying to you know, life my life and cope with waking up every dam day, sometimes wishing I'd didn't wake up that particular morning on so many occasions that I have lost count frankly.
But hella of a boss has been fantastic so far, and sure I'll be a bit upset it ends, because everything has to end at some point, I still wouldn't ever think to send hate their way for a show or project ending, because thats just life and how it be and they don’t deserve any of the past, current negativity they are receiving, ever!
God, after the drop from The Amazing Digital Circus and the drama that's already happening from that circus, it wouldn't be surprising if more stuff were to go down.
Yeah and digital circus didn't have problematic stuff or anything of that kind and yet people speed ruined toxicity there
Regardless of how good or bad something is, toxicity in the Internet will come anyways
What are they possibly complaining about?
@@WhiteScorpio2 they did the "I hate this thing despite many media having it but its worse here"
People complained about jax being a jerk character and people attacked each other in the comments, the jerk character type exist long ago like with bugs bunny, Tom and jerry, cartman etc. But now with TADC is specifically an issue somehow
Same with helluva boss with swearing that people hold it specifically againts despite many media doing the same thing, that type of stupid nitpick
@@Haphu15 Wow literally the most iconic character type out there 😂 not everybody has to like it but that genre of character is clearly well loved, there's really no issue
@@seraphim108exactly, is the same stupid nitpick they pick to hate on something every time

They never agreed on What they hate, anything is fair game to send death threats over, final episode will release this week and I can't only imagine the state of twitter when it happends
NGL, I thought you were gonna talk more about how they replaced all the VAs. That felt really shitty. That's been my only complaint.
I’ve been a fan of viv’s work since zoophobia and was part of the hazbin fandom since before the pilot’s released and ho boy I ain’t touching the current fandom with a 5 foot pole
Hazbin is honestly carrying the hopes of an entirely new era of independently produced animation on its shoulders, and I think it's worth supporting and I'm ready to give it multiple chances and the benefit of the doubt, because I want other animators and storytellers of the internet to have the courage to keep creating and putting their work out there. We need to take at least some power away from the big companies who care more about money and profit, rather than creativity and new innovation
The show is great. It's the fans that ruin it for the creators. Because what animator or writer wants to put themselves through dealing with the horrifically toxic fans who infest everything and claim to know better than the creator. Fans will kill indie animation. Not bad shows.
@@mycroft16I hope that Digital Circus won’t go through the same fate but the pilot just came out, and that fate is probably going to happen💀
@@ZippyZeeHeh Oh it will 100% happen. It already is. Fans are latching on to characters and creating all sorts of head canons and they'll get impatient and start demanding things etc. And while it seems likely that Glitch will release a full 1st season, there is no official word yet.
@@mycroft16 The show is *_not_* great, though.
@@BestWayKilla That is your opinion. Others disagree. Neither is right or wrong.
Out of curiosity, why do you find it not great?
It's already happening. People have their own headcanon for what Lucifer sounds like and his whole personality. They are not happy with the voice actor who has a sweet voice.
And don't forget Vox lmao. The man has spoken like 5 words in a trailer and the fandom has lit their torches 😂
cant wait to listen to his surprisingly calming voice talk about straight up facts 🙏🙏

"They'd rather on [Spindlehorse] than go love something else."
That's so true! Main character syndrome is so wild. Some people think that media should bend to their will, not realizing that Spindlehorse doesn't have to cater to anyone but themselves. They're glad we watch their show, but they don't owe us *anything.*
Great you're talking about this. A while ago I saw someone say they want their money back they spent on merch if the show isn't good, so yeah I'm worried too. I'm definitely going in open-minded, no expectations. They worked hard on this show and deserve a fair chance from the viewers
Oooh, you brought up a good point. Do you think fandoms that old develop a sense of entitlement? The "I spent years fixating on this show and supporting it, they OWE me" thing is an angle that makes a lot of sense. Indie fans can end up being as negative and meddling as the studios that love to take a good show into the ground, albeit not quite as powerful.
@@Scarfgirl Could definitely see that be the case. People spent so much time and money, that they feel entitled to the final product, forgetting that they don't own anything. Supporting a project means supporting a creator's vision, not pushing your own ideas onto them. It's sad to see indeed, how meddling these so-called fans can be.
I have my issues with the shows, but I fucking love them so much. Honestly, my only worry about Hazbin is that Cherri might not be in it with how there is no content of her.
Don't worry, Cherri will be in the show! She had an official redesign announcement on Hazbin Hotel's official socials. I just don't think she will be treated as a main character, hence as to why she doesn't appear in any sneak peeks.
@@missghost8579 honestly, I don't mind that. She always seemed like a side character to me. I'd love to see her as a recurring character but yeah, I doubt she was ever meant to be one of the main characters since she's not part of the Hazbin staff or guests

@Spino-hx2mr Yes you do, elaborate, enlighten us, back up your claims.
I love hazbin and helluva, but I 100% agree with the people that criticize the main character designs. They blend in more than they should. They should be diverse like the back ground characters 😅
Except for Fizz because he's best boy and can do no wrong 🥺🥺
When it came to the replacement of VAs, I thought that was more likely an A24 issue. Because Viv had to work alongside A24 and any of their wishes. So, if the producer decides they want to "trade up", they're gonna "trade up".
I'm personally quite looking forward to it. I enjoyed the weirdly cut trailer, and I realize it's pretty weirdly cut. Likely due to only wanting to show a fraction of the song, get the barebones of character interaction, and show off at least one bit of 'shock value' to pique interest. (yeah, the hellhound and succubus scene.).
I don't care much for any marketing issues. I also find it weird that people complain when adult shows 'swear too much'. Yes, it's an industry issue, that many writers don't seem to know how to write adult humor without swearing and sex. But honestly, for a series that takes place in hell, it feels like it's pretty fitting in HH and HB. Inhibitions probably wouldn't be high in a Hell like this.
If anything, I still have an issue with the societal treatment of sexuality and sexualized content.
It's often abhorred more than brutal violence. Splatter brains? that's fine. Kinky romances, especially kinky queer romances? Oh no, that 'goes too far'.
I've seen this play out in some content reactions, like say Fizz and Ozzie kissing in Helluva Boss, that 'that' is where some reactors get uncomfortable.
Going back to the toxic fandom problem. Yeah, it's really weird how that kind of stuff just festers, and people get so attached to head-canons etc. or nitpick every flaw.
Suffice it to say, I'm going to go ahead and enjoy Hazbin for whatever it is, as an animation enthusiast.
Sorry but kinky queer stuff is for the minority. Majority of us are straight. That's why it doesn't sell well.
I think part of the reason sex is worse than violence is because of the agreement we as a society have reached on sex. "Two consenting adults in their bedroom" is the standard, which means taking it out of the bedroom is taboo. Meanwhile violence and gore is less delegated to a specific private vs public dynamic.
Also, wasn't A24's whole appeal that they give creators complete control?
@@shifty_dragon3679 Nope. They own Hazbin Hotel. Viv barely have much say.
@@shifty_dragon3679 They gives creators a lot of control but I don't think any company gives a creator 100% control.

I am fairly new to Helluva Boss so I had the luxury of binge watching all of seasons 1 and 2 up to where we are now, and I loved every second of it. I am anxiously awaiting the next episode like most of you lovely people in this comment section. That also being said I am not on Twitter very often so I don't see any of that drama, and only ever see it when it gets pulled over here to RUclips.

Um no the show great vizziepop is just a horrible person who entitled and can’t accept criticism like a true artist 🧑🎨
@purpirek that is fair. There are also people claiming to be fans that have gone after people on Twitter for things out of thier control (i.e the voice actors). Sadly that does reflect on the fanbase even if most of the fans are lovely people.

I am terrified of what the Fandom can do when Viv breathes but if ADDICT is completely retconed all heaven will break loose.
Most people only found Hazbin and then Helluva because of Silva so like...
The bar is so high that any show horse would break it's legs
Honestly, given how popular the video was (it's got more views that the actual HH pilot), and the comments regarding how Valentino will be in the show from his VA, I highly doubt they'll throw all that away.
Putting the mid roll ad at the Tim Curry moment is both so evil and clever I'm miffed.
I got some respect for ole Viv for accomplishing what she has so far. Hope this all goes smooth for that little gal
This is part of the reason with i love Camp Camp a lot more than other adult cartoons. It isn't afraid to be crass or out there but there's a certain amount of restraint they have. It never goes too far. That, and it makes time to actually have some genuine heart. Season 1 is like season 1 of Steven Universe in a sense that theirs bits of story that becomes more and more apparent as the series progresses, its story, characters and hidden lore so so interesting and it’s filled with mystery, epic story arks and emotional moments that I’d seriously call it one of the best animated shows ever made, too bad it’s criminally underrated, not many people are all that aware of it, despite is having a fandom that adores it.
YES! I love Camp Camp, and I agree with you. Its so good at balancing crass ridiculous humor, with more emotional elements.
Wait this comment just made me realize that they took almost every single Camp Camp episode off of RUclips??
@@elokin300really? Seasons 1-3 are there, season 4 is on the website, and a little final comback episode released a bunch a go on yt
Guess what, everyone? Of course a series is going to be different from it's Pilot or any other show on any particular channel/network. The Helluva Pilot set up a premise of lower class citizens of hell going on a killing spree while passing it off as a business that changed rapidly to focus on those characters' f*cked up, messy, sometimes wholesome relationships.
Thank you! The fans or people disliking the show never believe me, when I say that.
Really irritating.
But it made the mistake of forgetting its own premise. It's too focused on relationships and not enough demon assassins.
Yes, that's exactly what it is, a premise. And it isn't focusing on that premise. I love serious storylines, but everything happens so fast when we don't even know anything about some of the _main_ characters.
@@mannysmith5397 Forgetting what exactly? They are still assassins but it's just not important to the storyline. It's about Blitz, the Helluva Boss.
He pretty much is the main source, why this story is happening in the first place.
@@rise.-mikeyBut they don't do very much assassination any more. Character drama is great and all, but the show was initially billed as a comedy. Community is a show which did a great job at balancing character drama with comedy. Helluva boss leans too hard into drama each episode and not enough into being fun to watch. It feels more like a soap opera than a sitcom.
I will say, I know this isn't entirely related BUT, as a deaf viewer who was sat bopping to HB songs not really knowing what any of them said for the longest time, I noticed that by the time more and more came out about the HH show, captioning got put on HB videos (I could be wrong on timing). I don't entirely get the Vivienne hate as I haven't looked all too much into it but I really appreciate the team for taking the time to put captioning on their RUclips show. Not a lot of RUclipsrs do that and it made me happy to see not only that HB took the time and effort to put proper captioning on their show (and not that HORRIFICALLY BAD auto generated captioning) but that many indie projects like it did so as well. Idk, not very related but I will indeed mention I'm deaf and the overall lack of *good* captioning on RUclips (and many other sites COUGH HULU APP VERSION COUGH) whenever I can.
any time someone mentions bad captions I think of this one that showed up while my grandma was watching MacGyver once that said "continues speaking German" when no one was ever speaking German in the first place
Hey, big Hazbin fan here. I was really dedicated to the series even before the pilot dropped. And I've watched the pilot something like 20+ times. I've got to be honest, Hazbin does have some criticism to be made of it's pilot and promotional content like Addict. Especially with Addict. The pilot is obviously a dated piece of work with the animation and writing direction of HB that Viv has taken, though viewers should be critical of the slap-job writing and pacing of the cast. Especially with characters like Alastor taking up most of the screen time and contributing nothing to world-building or a plot. Another thing that is really awfully handled is Angel being sexually expoited in both the varying tones of his character in Addict and the pilot. Though the promotional comics definitely helped with setting the tone correctly with Angel and Valentino's abusive relationship much better than Addict did.
Though, in spite of all of this I'm excited for this show to finally get a release after 4 years(?)! The Voice acting cast looks amazing, Happy Day In Hell is miles above Inside Of Every Demon Is A Rainbow in explaining the basic plot of Charlie's hotel plan and the slight character design changes really make the cast feel much more natural than before.
Viv is walking so that future indie animators can run. Like her or not, she has pulled off a feat that is nothing short of incredible. A victory for creators everywhere. To discount her accomplishment is unfair and ignorant.
No matter how Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss end up, they have made history in the world of animation.
Projects are so much more than the final product, but people will never acknowledge that. The true tragedy of the creative entertainment business.
I wish Hazbin Hotel the best of luck, whatever happens, I appreciate what it and its creators have done for the industry I love.
I never really see a problem with swearing in adult shows as a problem (Family Guy has way worse stuff in it than the swearing), but people who act like any show having swearing means it's killing the art form are really weird to me. Like, people swear when they're not in a professional environment or have kids. It's not a big deal. And sometimes it just fits that some characters would swear a lot. Like, all the Helluva Boss characters swear, but I think Blitzo does it the most and it fits him to do that so often. There are people that swear a lot, it's not that deep.
And they're people that doesn't swear at all or really rarely (and not even because we were raised not to, just that swears are "this feeling is at the extreme of the extreme")
And yeah sometimes it's people you think will swear a lot. It just depends what meaning is behind a word.
@@cookie856 ...wat?
@@rabnerd28 that sometimes characters swearing (even in adult shows) doesn't make sense because not everyone swear, or do it as much, so using swear word is not a gage of maturity for a show ^^"
@rach3092 I doubt the critics of Viv aren't lbgt themselves. They already accused the show as yaoi fanfiction and attacked her for Sallie Mae having a sexy pin. Plus Seth already had criticism in past.
As I get older, I find myself having a more laissez faire experience with hype. I get excited about something when it's announced, and sort of just let it sit on the back burner. Not counting down the days until it's literally 2-3 days away. Won't be upset by delays, won't be upset if it doesn't meet some impossible expectation... So, I'm very much excited that Hazbin is coming in January. But it's just on the back burner. I'll be there when it drops.
Helluva Boss is all over the place for me. It has some of the best moments, and it is also often a little much for me. But overall I'm very positive about the show. It's a flawed work, like most of my favorite pieces of media.
My only concern for Hazbin is how much meddling the studio is gonna affect the final product. I have faith in Vivzie and her crew. They'll make something good if allowed to do it. But we'll find out in a few months~
Hazbin is far from the first independent internet short that became a full-funded animated series.
Not downplaying the success of Hazbin. To be fair most people probably don’t remember the series that started as indie-shorts
Don't hug me I'm scared, or something else? Not really into shows, so I don't know too many, haha
I am a BIG fan of the shows, and honestly, I really like all of it! Its so new, it feels like finaly finding something that is so true to things I like to watch in series. I love the designs, humor, the animations, art, and you can say the writing is not the best, but I adore it. Every episode of Helluva Boss is fantastic, to me it doesn't feel like a fan-fiction. But what if it did? Who cares!? Let people just enjoy the things they like.. I secretly like the flaws, its weird to say it but it makes it more reachable, standing closer to this fantastic big project.
I didn't knew the fandom was this messed up to be fair.. Hearing this almost made me cry. I have such a big heart for these shows, especially Helluva Boss. I hate to hear that Vivziepop and all the people who worked on this got so much hate. It really breaks my heart. I hope people start listening to this. Let people make the things they make, let people love the things they love.. It doesn't effect you, why would you spend so many time on hating, when you can just go love something else and leave the lives of others alone :DDD
I will love these shows forever, some random person who has an opinion will not change that!
Why does everything has to be the perfect masterpiece? I just love this show, because its so creative and fun, experimental. The fact that they made fansongs into cannon songs proves for me how fantastic this is! :DD
I am going to say it right now, no matter what, when I watch it, I will love it and we should be happy that it is coming out at all. so many indie projects just get left to collect dust because MONEY (and lack there of) it is amazing that the show was able to make it this far and we should all be supportive.
I just hope they make a clear storyline, thats how low my expectations are
Sigh… I’m just trying to enjoy watching this without people nitpicking every small goddamn detail that didn’t agree with their head cannons.
I enjoy watching this show as a casual viewer, enjoying the episodes when they come out & re-watching it when I wanna.
A+ commercial placement at the 4:49 "anticipation" joke lol
The sad truth is, some people will just look for excuses to hate on a show no matter what. Nothing Vivzie does will ever please them and that's something we just have to live with. I'm pretty much expecting tons of videos how much of a "failure" Hazbn Hotel's first episode is. It's sadly inevitable. But you know what? I'm still going to support the show. I'll still probably have my own critiques. But I'm not going to hate on Hazbin just because my headcanon didn't happen. I'll still support Vivze and her team and hope they continue to what they love.
And also, I wouldn't say you're part of the problem. You give fair critiques while not attacking Vivzie and her team. I look forward to seeing what you have in store when Hazbin officially comes out next year. :)

After he hated on a Warrior cats map about the leader mentally breaking down about her kittens dying made by a bunch of preteens and teenagers for being ''too edgy'' I already hated him, but also SERIOUSLY WHA?!
Angel dust has a SURPRISING amount of development already, with his own music video before the show has even fully come out

I hate when people or critic’s miss the entire point, not pay attention or even forage something to make a criticism.
And it got even worse now with people criticizing full shows or movies based on 15s teaser trailers or clips
I also am afraid and REALLY wish people would stop pulling hatred out of their ass
The fact that both Helluva Boss and Hazbin even exist is incredible and should be appreciated even if they are not flawless
What I think the Fandom needs to remember, Shows evolve from their pilots, a LOT of shit would be VERY different if it were the same as its pilot, I LOVE Modern Helluva Boss more than I love the first two episodes, SO MUCH. And frankly, the only gripes I have with Hazbin are the Redesign of Alistair's Suit (it looks weird to me that he has like... a vest over his coat? It's odd) and the voice changes concern me. Beyond that, legitimately DO NOT CARE, I know Vivzie and her crew are BOUND to give us something great no matter what it is.
😂 i feel the problem is gen z and alphas lack of patience. They didn't grow up having to wait to til next week for the episode and then wait til the next season. I think we should normalize the fact you can't get what you want when you want it again. Good animation takes time and funds😅
My worry is the pilot brought people in but the changes will push people away
Bad as the Fandom may be, it can't be any worse than the MHA Fandom
7:24 regardless of whether Hazbin Hotel isn't the only show that has this problem, it is still a legitimate argument to have. This type of argument overly relies on the assumption the people in question doesn't feel the same about those other shows, rather than anything concrete

I'm sure I've thought some scene looked off because of some minor animation cjoice, but I didn't know people actually have an issue with animation, it's one of the main reasons I watched. It's stunning and the chaos in just the movement of characters alone is amazing.
I got an advert right in the middle of the Rocky Horror Picture Show Anticipation clip.
tbh hindsight, Hazbin just having great songs sharable on tiktok kinda saved it. I mean some people still tore the show to shreds but like... it reached a knew audience, and it's enjoyable.
The new audience being people like me, current teenagers when the pilot came out we were oh still in middle school. So we aren't affected by years of headcanons and a very long wait. A lot of us got introduced to it by tiktok or helluva boss.
I'm NOT Worried I'm excited for the first season of Hazbin Hotel finally getting to premiere on Prime Video in January of 2024
I even looked it up on Amazon. It's not showing up when I had the site look for it.
Is it wrong to have a headcanon? No but it’s bad if you get all toxic about it not being in the show. Like come on guys we’ve waited long enough. Don’t ruin it now for everyone else
He he, have avoided rewatching the pilot and associated Hazbin materials since it was comfirmed for network television to weaken any headcanon. I still remember my mistake re-reading LotR before the first movie came out...
I think we should have a high standard. For the show, so it can be great. To beat mainstream media. Or is that not the point anymore? Do we just wait for other ones. To create competition with mainstream media. So we as consumers get better products. Or do we just stay, stuck. Just trying to appreciate stuff. But it's hard every where. So we should just suck it up or something.
Honestly I can see why you would be worried. I’m sure it’ll be great and that should be enough to shut them up. Ik the fans were really upset with changers in va but they are gonna have to get use to it and understand it was a pilot nothing was set in stone.
Can we just like a show for what it is without judgement? I like HB and HH a lot, but it's Spindle Horse's creation, not mine.
Hater's gonna hate, and I don't give a fuck. I'm still going to watch it as I enjoy it.
pro tip: ignore the haters. thats it please stop talking about them like pretty please its why they still have a voice
I have a friend who doesn't like the new voice of Angel and he's already dunking on it and it makes me so mad because yes, his voice is different than the song and piolet. that is usually what happens when pilots turn to series. i'm just excited that it's coming out finally. I can't wait to see what happens with the series so i'm really looking forward to it.
Show your friend the songs of Blake Roman. He sounds like Angel Dust but he can sing. He is exactly how I pictured his singing voice.
Ngl i just gave up on all expectations on helluva boss at this point
I watched it up to season 2 episode 7 and i gotta say it's a bit of a mess with it's storyline and the main cast development
but regardless I'm still watching it for it's art style and hopes of finding out more on the world building
I consider helluva boss to be a show where you just don't think and ease into it's randomness
Overall i don't hate the show but I'm not fond of it either
Regardless i keep my thoughts to myself i dont go around harassing the creator/team or posting mean comments on their socials/videos
You can hate something as long as you don't spread it just mind yourself and those around you

There is one thing I want from this show. Just one.

We get the ship, I'm hopeful I'll sail through everything else ^^
Too bad nobody cares about it.
Its cannon so it will be in the show so don't worry
I mean it's canon, and I don't think they will change this part so you don't have to worry
@CipherRage-tp5ql but people in that intance were acting very homophobic with their reasoning as to why their shouldn't be a couple, the toxic minority can never talk about something without badhing one another
Also don’t forget!!! This is gunna be tonally different than Helluva boss. It was stated by Viv herself.
I'm scared myself, especially with the helluva boss show being tawn apart by other people, i just want to enjoy something without people shitting on it every time i even mentioning i like it
"A lot of people criticize Viv and not Brandon Rogers for reasons"
Hmmm, maybe it's because *Vivian* is the creator of the show and *Vivian* is the one who interacts with the fans all the time and freaks out on Twitter. Oh and *Vivian* is also one of the main writers, not to mention people who genuinely love Helluva Boss don't like the way *Vivian* is handling the show. To imply that it's because they just hate women is beyond ignorant and presumptuous. Viv puts herself at the forefront, therefore she gets the brunt of the criticism. That's basic logic and anyone being honest would admit that.
Viv also commented about trading up her talent for VA’s by saying this is something that happens legitimately all the time in LA. Remember- this is a young studio and the only way they can learn and grow is by fucking up. So yeah we can say ‘dude that was fucked,’ but when it becomes a hate campaign I can see why their story changes / trying to make them look like less of an asshole. It happens to a lot of people who fucj up and then suddenly have a social media campaign against them. Their own view of the situation can become skewed as they try and save themselves from getting socially barbecued.
Their only other option in the current media climate is to apologize and if Viv apologized for everything thrown her way we’d all be calling her one of Those RUclipsrs. there is no way for her to get out of the situation.
But the studio itself does seem to learn and grow.
Yes they had problems with undervaluing their art talent back in the day-- and now they have an hr department to manage upset and help everyone come to an agreement. That’s real time growth we can witness. You can’t say that for every company.
Yeah I have been for example on Cruncyroll (My first misstake XD) And look at the comments for great shows like Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia. Perfectly enjoyable and fun shows with something new while filling the criteria for being a shonen show. Yet people in the comments complains like. "Wow nothing happened in this episode, oh this makes no sense, anime today sucks compare to old ones."
And other silly things there will always be people complaining about one aspect of something while praising another show who also have flaws but ignore them becuse to them it´s the greatest. I just appreciate how someone did create any of this shows at all. Anime hearing about the ahtors for this two manga series and hearing they are my age and how happy they are to see thier work in animation, having scenes that moved them to tears. That´s amazing. Hazbin have a great fanbase that support the uniqe take on hell, thinking about all the songs that was made, heck even I made one (not great but still). Now ofcourse I also think overpraising it is dangerous too. Just becuse someone dose´t like the swearing or that it takes place in hell that is thier taste and choice and you gotta respect that, if you got atleast one person to share it with that is all the people you need.
Now especially with last episode with the fan boy that will be ammo for Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel defenders to share as gifs and comparission for anyone criticing this shows. And again that can go to far, just relax and for the love of god don´t shot the guy if you watch Season 2 episode 7 Blitz did´t shoot the guy becuse he was an annoying fan boy, becuse he threatend Fizzerolli with a knife. Let it never get that far. You are all hopefully 18+ and with that adults who can talk things through and agree to disagree.
As for me I don´t know if Hazbin will be available in my country, I will be enjoying it and see what it is, hopefully it´s still Vivs vision for the show, I am sure she had some deals and quidelines she has to follow but we will see. I for one have enjoyed her work over things Viv even likes, Family Guy and Rick and Morty, two shows popular people take jokes from them but I don´t find them funny, Vivs shows I find funny so take that for what you will.
Honestly, I'm so sick of people claiming that genuine people with genuine critiques of the show are haters.
The people who redesign characters and make critiques of the show aren't haters. A lot of them are genuine people who want the show to be better and live up to what they thought was its former glory.
The reason the show gets so many people saying that it can't take criticism. It's because the people who actually critique it are shoved into the same box as the rampant haters.
The fandom will harass people with different opinions and genuinely valid and correct criticisms and hate on them for wanting the show to be its best. People want it to be its best because they genuinely love it.
I disagree with a lot of criticism because a lot of it is unfounded but most of it comes from a place of love and is completely correct.
Omfg I got an ad when it went to the Rocky Horror "Antici...."
Harbin hotel is kinda like Dark souls or souls games alike, you get pissed and hate it but you keep coming back to it
5:17 One thing I have to point out here:
Ask any fan of One Piece what the worst arc of the series is, and nine times out of ten, they will say it is whatever the current arc is at the time. That's how it is with manga, each issue is released on weekly basis, and arcs of this particular manga tend to be long. The Summit War Saga is almost unanimously agreed to be the best arc of the series, and it took two years to complete. And it was about half as long as other well-known arcs.
Still, is One Piece unpopular? HELL NO. When an arc IS complete and you can read it all in one setting, the fans forget how anxious they were about the wait and then go on to criticizing the next one. Happens all the time.
I'm more than willing to give Hazbin a chance, at least.
Twitter sucks. Enough said.
Fr the say naw why Twitter is bad and then they become the toxic shitbag of moderators
I'll be honest, the one doubt I have about the show so far (that is, the teaser and the full version of "Happy Day In Hell") is the voice of Keith Davids as Husk. I absolutely love his work, but the voice in the song sounds off.
I may have a gripe against the show for dropping the voice actors that where a pretty big part of keeping the show in peoples minds through songs/podcasts/panels/what-have-yous, and because of the years and years of merchandising on nothing more than a pilot, but that doesn't immediately make it a bad show.
as a person who just wants to see pretty pixels move around on a screen, this will perfectly meet my expectations
I got into helluva by watching hasbin pilot when i was 13

I think one of the huge benefits of being a casual enjoyer of many different properties is that I don’t get too invested, I don’t care too much about head cannons and theories and I just enjoy what I’m consuming, or I don’t.
Looking forward to it!
I never really saw a problem with the swearing in Helluva boss because most of the time it comes off as natural. I've seen adult shows that try to do the same thing and it sounds forced or like they're putting it in the wrong place just to have it there. But not here.
I respectfully disagree.
Yeah maybe I’ve seen too many adult shows but the swearing I just never pay much mind to it.
@@redpanda6497Why?
@rach3092 No, I've never said I expect them to talk like angels. What I really mean is that it fits certain character's personality, like Blitzo's, but there are times when it's out of character for some of them or it just simply feels really forced. Spring broken, Harvest moon festival and the new Fizzarolli episode comes to my mind. They weren't funny, they didn't appear in serious, stressful situations and it felt like they swore for the sake of swearing. Two adult series that I think used swearing right is Arcane and Bojack horseman.
The explosion at the end is very symbolic
I am obsessed with Rocky Horror Picture Show and when I saw Dr. Frank n Furter I almost had a heart attack
everytime he show that clip where the wolf is giving backshots in the window i forget what hes talking about
I think most of Vivzie's haters jumped on directly from hating on Steven Universe after it ended. These are the same people who bitched about the twist in A Single Pale Rose and everything onward regarding the Homeworld side of Steven's family. And they aren't even hiding it. They're like fleas that jump from one live fan community to the next and suck out all the media literacy and civil discourse. We need to stop treating them like they matter as human beings at all.

Honestly the whole headcannon shit is rough because it creates expectations that realistically we’re never EVER gonna be fulfilled. And the people think that “headcannons” ARE cannon so when it’s never talked about or ever shown to actually be cannon, hate rolls more in
The the pilot for almost every Nick and cartoon network show that we love is completely different than what the show ended up being
1) I feel like there;s a lot of people, especially on Twitter that revolve their whole lives around Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss. Like it's not that serious.
2) Once Hazbin Hotel comes out Viv can't go fighting critics who will hate the show. Web critics are basically no bodies (in all due respect) while the mainstream critics will be tougher and harsher. I hope I'm wrong, but something tells me Hazbin Hotel won't go beyond two seasons.
I love Helluva Boss so much and *literally* not a single show has ever done everything perfectly (cough except for ATLA cough) and nothing ever will be perfect.
Helluva Boss is one of the many things that speak to me, and everyone has that show or book or video game that lives in their brain rent free and helps them understand themselves and the world around them. We all have our comfort fandom or comfort media that makes life suck just a tad less.
When you shit on a piece of media, you’re not just taking jabs at a creator, but you make the people who enjoy it feel like idiots for liking it. Enjoying something that other people think is ‘bad’ IS NOT A CRIME, and people need to stop treating it like it is a crime.
There is this INSANE level of entitlement that fans feel like they have over something that isn’t theirs and it’s really weird, and it’s going to keep people from wanting to share their creations and ideas.
If you somehow read through all of this, thank you.
I have literally no idea what to expect but I’m excited!
So what i get from this is that there is no major problem with either show, its just the fanbase because its in the spotlight.
