I enjoy being the “Wasteland Babysitter,” lol. Certainly, from an in-universe perspective, it would be pretty ridiculous for SS to be building all these settlements on his or her own, but it doesn’t stop it from being fun, Imo. That being said, Sim Settlements makes it more fun.

Mods I have installed are Workshop Framework, SS: RoC, SS: 3-in-1, SS2 All chapter pack, HUD framework, F4SE, Compact City Plans Beta For Sanctuary I used Sturges as leader.
Having a problem with the mods. When I start the game it says that there is a conflict between SS esm. and SS2. The NMM(vortex) shows the esm is disabled though. I tried to do the set for auto tear down of the city in order to rebuild it but the game crashed. So I set the settlement to build on its own with an assigned by me. Do all the mods have esm in them? Or is it only a specific mod. These mods are the ones you have for SS from Nexus.
Excited to start using Sim Settlements...quick question, can you still use your companion while they're in leader mode, or are they not able to leave until the settlement reaches level 3?
Hi I'm having an issue with the mod, when i select choose city plan, the available options section is empty, could please let me know what i could have done wrong
One thing that I like to do is turn Croup Manor in a ghouls only settlement. So automatic installing and running Recruitment Beacons can become an inconvenience for thematic settlements. We usually get 2 settlers straight away when its turn on for the first time, and hope a SS script won't turn it back on, once a while. Or reinstall it.
How do I remover sim settlements from one place only, say Sanctuary? I installed and did not like it there, can it be removed? Keeping my other settlements intact of course... 😬
I just started FO4 after setting it aside for more than a year and I didn't like what I came back to. I use Sim Settlements but most times I do the city planning and building myself. I have streets and rows of houses all in neat order. My factories are zoned to be away from residential. All necessities are in abundance for a max population thriving community. But this last time, I came back to Sanctuary at level 31 from somewhere out in the Wasteland and I didn't like what I saw. Sanctuary was a junk palace but I couldn't find a place to sleep or even someone to sell my valuables to. I think I was using the options of letting Sim Settlements run itself. I started a new character and maybe I will be a proper dictator this time around. But before I go too far with this new character I am going to watch several of your videos to maybe fix my level 31 player's world.
Yeah, the sanctuary plan is pretty .... useless. Its a spagetti mess of paths made to look a certain way, but nothing practical to it. There are simple plans you can find to use instead, or dont use a plan at all and just make your own and let the plots upgrade on the side without a city plan pre-set. They tend to overload and destabilize your game anyway with so many scripts running at the same time.
Can i still build my own stuff when sim settelment is active. For examble one of the canons? Or will that break the automatic building of the settelment?
guess i will be searching and viewing more video's tonight on Sim Settlements to find the answers and get it working. But it IS a very valuable add-on to the game, thanks for that. Pity they did not lift or increase the memory on xbox as now sometimes the game slows (had to uninstall the winter overhaul sadly)
You suggest using either: Attackers - Get off my Build Zone www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25762 or More Attackers - Get off my build zone www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/27465 for your play-through. "Moves attack markers beyond the boundaries of settlements." - wim95 (Mod Author) They are both by the same Author which is why I'm recommending both at the same time. The only difference is "More Attackers" adds additional markers as well as moving the default ones, which I find more immersive because who only attacks from three select directions.
Used sim settlements in sanctuary and it began building some of the settlement. Never got lifted into the air no matter how I set up the cinematic in options. Also do we have to make plots still after using a city plan ?. Or is it automatically done by the settlers there. The quest marker does not do anything either. Don't know if It supposed to be like that or what ?. Seems there is a lot general information about how to use the mod that is not mentioned even though there is so many video guides. Also none of the settlers scrapped any of the pre placed stuff, they just build directly in it like it was not there.
Hi making this comment for help every time in my settlement I put city planner on and choose a Mayor The settlement exterior will develop, but the plots will not develop. I’ve tried every bug fix and nothing happens.
The flying in the sky is disabled by default on Xbox as it is frequently too system intensive. Per Sanctuary, it doesn't scrap everything in our design, many of the items are used as the city upgrades.
I love sim settlements but I like to run EVERY settlement I come in contact with. Now, as you know there's a lot more settlements than companions. I would love to be able to turn any random settler to a fcomanion and then have them run it.
If you have Automatron, just make basic, cheap robots to lead the settlement in place of valuable companions. I haven't tested it, but I think it might work.
The leader requirement is optional now, if you turn it off, you can run all of the settlements without using companions. If you want to use the leader feature, after your city reaches level 3, they no longer need a leader so you can release them from their duties and start another city plan with them.
I use another mod, Sim Settlements Mayors. Gives you another 33 people that can be leaders. It's a good stop gap if you don't want to turn off the feature entirely.
Hello, I'm not sure about one thing. If I choose a city plan it also contains a plan of all future plots or my settlers just put them randomly? Or is it dedicated from the beginning where they will place shops, beds, etc.?
I have the 3-in-1 I was just wondering if it was normal to not be able to interact with items found in settlements once they are built (stimpacks, guns, food, etc.) or if my was bugged
I plan on using SS in my new game, I noticed though that there is a SS2 as well. I have all of the DLC's and I was wondering which should I download 1 or 2? Does SS2 compliment 1 or supersede 1? HD space isn't an issue, I just don't want to use redundant mods that take up MO2 slots, and I'm uneasy about combining or repackaging mods.
I first tried the 3 and 1 then just the base Sim Settlements with Rise of the Commonwealth but with either add on, my keyboard would not work at all. It works fine with the vanilla game or just the base Sim Settlements but it's like it gets switched off with either add on?
Hello, i replaying Fallout 4 and i found this amazing mod, my question is, i already built my settlement and i want improve it with this mod, so do i need to scrap all my old building and moving out all the settler to do that?
So I built my own thing in Hangman's Alley and imported it onto a new save using transfer settlements, when I came back after finishing countless quests I came back and the blueprint built over my import so its was unusable and I can't scrap any of the objects included in it and nuking it doesn't work with transfer settlements and I have no idea how to get rid of it. Does anyone know how to get rid of it so I can build myself after the blueprints already on it
Might be a bit of a stupid question, but I suppose we got to power the recruitment beacon that's built by a city plan? I just put a plan on sanctuary and starlight drive-in and realized both beacons aren't powered, so there's no harm done powering them ourselves right?
City Plan built items are self-powered, though the switch might be in the off position on the beacon. Check it in WS mode for the power icon. You can wire things in the CP if you like, but if they get replaced at a higher level you can end up with wires stuck in the air.
Love this mod. I have a question. Once a city has been made and virtually maxed out, can uou take the mayor to use on another location? Will the first one still run OK?
So if I start a city plan, in those spots where you said a ploy could be placed, are the settlers just going to magically place a plot down there themselves? Or will I need to do that?
I have no idea what's wrong with my game, I can get the holotape, build the desk, everything works, but when I hover over the blueprint on the desk, and click city planner , the blueprint nothing happens, it does not pull up any choices anybody have any idea
One question about city leader Maccready as leader in Oberland station do work like charm mean city grow nice on other side Codsworth as leader in Warwick homestead thing do not work nothing so Codsworth is crap or I have some in game issues.
Can you set the game to just automatically start building settlements right from the beginning of a new save? Like without even going to each settlement and initializing it?
aha found the solution yesterday : apparantly i had to load a holotape first. Still trying to figure out how to place the 2077 sensors i found. Guess i have to find a map now ?
i love this mod, but i used your set up for sancutary hills. and there is never enough homes for the current amount of settlers. i have old paul and the base characters from concord, and there is always 1 home needed.
Hi! I'm new to fallout, and these mods were the first I downloaded, I'm working on sanctuary, but knowing where to place the buildings is kinda overwhelming. Can I choose what type of house they build? Any tips please
Uh, I'm using starlight drive in because it's a completely open large area apart for the big drive in projector building and the screen, I would recommend that for building fairly large cities/builds
I'm guessing it'll be easier on the Xbox if you use that randomize option you talked about in your conquest video. that option where only certain settlements will upgrade to certain levels?

Having a problem with the mods. When I start the game it says that there is a conflict between SS esm. and SS2. The NMM(vortex) shows the esm is disabled though. I tried to do the set for auto tear down of the city in order to rebuild it but the game crashed. So I set the settlement to build on its own with an assigned by me. Do all the mods have esm in them? Or is it only a specific mod. These mods are the ones you have for SS from Nexus.
hey man what is the music of the cinematic when we launch the city plan ?? I like that music
I selected my city leader, but no menu asking permission to scrap everything popped up. I don't know what to do... Any suggestions?
If you have a not really good pc you need to wait 15 second or something
Excited to start using Sim Settlements...quick question, can you still use your companion while they're in leader mode, or are they not able to leave until the settlement reaches level 3?
Thanks for the reply, @uituit baker !
Could the XBox 1X handle the tier 3 plans? I’m a console peasant who is curious about the limits of my system.
The OG Box cannot handle Level 3 Cities.
Hi, please help 🙏 why when I chose a city plan it's says: There are currently no city Plans available for this are I am in Hangman's Alley
Is there any way to keep my already built buildings when I use this????
This was very informative, now to try and get that illusive holo so I can start - thanks for sharing
How do I get the hud that shows the upgrade % and whatnot? I turned it on in the options but it just won't show up
My settlers don't build any electrical equipment or defense. Is this normal?
I have a leader and everything is fully automated.
guess i will be searching and viewing more video's tonight on Sim Settlements to find the answers and get it working. But it IS a very valuable add-on to the game, thanks for that. Pity they did not lift or increase the memory on xbox as now sometimes the game slows (had to uninstall the winter overhaul sadly)
Xbox is running at it's limit.
Does this work the same way in sim settlements 2?
You suggest using either:
Attackers - Get off my Build Zone
www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25762
or
More Attackers - Get off my build zone
www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/27465
for your play-through. "Moves attack markers beyond the boundaries of settlements." - wim95 (Mod Author)
They are both by the same Author which is why I'm recommending both at the same time.
I’ve tried every bug fix and nothing happens.
im on xbox and i didnt go flying into the sky and it didnt scrap everything in sanctuary
Omg in every video you already have the city planning desk out
Hello, I'm not sure about one thing.
So... I have the 3 in 1 downloaded but when I go to red rocket or somewhere else I cannot set up city because it says I don't have plans
Do the settlers also change their weapons throughout time. I always hated switching every settlers weapons to a stronger one
I first tried the 3 and 1 then just the base Sim Settlements with Rise of the Commonwealth but with either add on, my keyboard would not work at all. It works fine with the vanilla game or just the base Sim Settlements but it's like it gets switched off with either add on?
what is the soundtrack from the end of the video ? iam looking for it everywhere but i cant find it
Hello, i replaying Fallout 4 and i found this amazing mod, my question is, i already built my settlement and i want improve it with this mod, so do i need to scrap all my old building and moving out all the settler to do that?
just replying cuz i wanna know too
The mod auto-scrap all thing but i dont know if settler remains
Why when I came back to vault 88 was there lots of quest icons that I can’t do anything with?
So if I start a city plan, in those spots where you said a ploy could be placed, are the settlers just going to magically place a plot down there themselves? Or will I need to do that?
I cant find the mod settlements manager menu and it isnt under crafting
I have no idea what's wrong with my game, I can get the holotape, build the desk, everything works, but when I hover over the blueprint on the desk, and click city planner , the blueprint nothing happens, it does not pull up any choices anybody have any idea
Question: I am building a settlement myself, i have assign a leader but not a city plan, how do i get my settlement to level up with out a city plan?
When I press e for city plans, nothing happens, can you help me?
One question about city leader Maccready as leader in Oberland station do work like charm mean city grow nice on other side Codsworth as leader in Warwick homestead thing do not work nothing so Codsworth is crap or I have some in game issues.
Can you set the game to just automatically start building settlements right from the beginning of a new save? Like without even going to each settlement and initializing it?
Whenever I use rise of the commonwealth my save corrupts.....its broken!!! Please fix
aha found the solution yesterday : apparantly i had to load a holotape first. Still trying to figure out how to place the 2077 sensors i found. Guess i have to find a map now ?
I have everything downloaded, why wont the game give me a city plan. Like i have everything and it says i dont have one
i love this mod, but i used your set up for sancutary hills. and there is never enough homes for the current amount of settlers. i have old paul and the base characters from concord, and there is always 1 home needed.
@uituit baker planning to get fallout for Xbox so been mod shopping since unlike PS4 the mods don't suck and this looks very impressive. You got me worried about crashing the game though ^^
Once the foundations get built, are the settlers pre-programmed as to what they're gonna build or is it a randomize type of thing?
By default it randomizes the plot buildings. If you want to use the designer's building choices, you can turn on the Designer's Choice option
Hey Kinggath thanks for the amazing video I have a question I downloaded 3.46 3 in 1 for sim settlement 1. Since my game version is at .721 or so I don’t intend to upgrade it what sim settlement 1 mods or addons will work for 3.46 sim settlement 1. Also I can’t assign settler to black jack how do I fix that thank you
Hey so I’m playing on Xbox one and can’t find the rotc mod what should I do
Do I still need perks like "Local Leader" for them to build locked items like shops?
im using the hud but some of it is cut off and i can figure out for the life of on how to fix it any ideas ?
wait, so this won't work on Spectacle Island?
Here was was saving it as my biggest experiment to finally start using this system :(
Edit-got teh city plan contest packs, that should set me up
