- For those of us who are lucky enough to have wild trout fisheries, it is important that we do our part to protect them. Fishing to stressed spawning trout or crushing their buried eggs are ways you can negatively impact a fishery. In this video, we teach you how to identify spawning trout and the spawning beds (redds) that they construct so you can give them the space they deserve.

This should be played at every trout club and T.U. across the country. Awesome awesome work!
Thanks and feel free to share!
This was a good video. You didn't try to shame anyone or be overly obnoxious about the subject. It was just educational, and very easy to follow.
I find most of us don’t react well to shame but hopefully with some education we make better choices. Thanks for watching and feel free to share!
As a newer enthusiast, though I know about spawning, I did not know much about what to look for and was looking for a helpful video. This video was really well done, and answered all my questions. Thank you for the education!
Glad you enjoyed it. Please share!
Devin, this was extremely informative, thanks so much for posting it!
Thanks for watching
The clearest video on the subject I've seen. And you don't brow beat us either, thank you!
I hope it helped.
Thank you for the information! I plan on fishing henrys fork all year long and keeping the population healthy is my top priority! I'll pass this on in my videos💯
Great video Devin! I hope this gets shared a LOT!
Thanks. Please feel free to share it yourself!
This is a great bit of education, thank you for sharing it.

Content is great. Your tone and ethos is even better. Good job!
This is great! Thank you for this video.
I live my native PA waters so much. I share them with my family so for me I just give them a break.
Thanks! Feel free to share it with anyone you think it would benefit.
This is an excellent video. Thank you for your good work.

This was extremely well done’
Thanks. I hope you found it useful.
Excellent video. Very helpful without being overly preachy. Well done!
Always love your technical explanations, thanks Devin!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the education. When I started, I unknowing walked through some redds. I felt horrible once I found out more. This would be a great video to put on every states department of fish and wild life website. Obviously, they would want it to be without a business promotion but you could use your video and voice over without doing that.
Maybe even some of the garbage dumpers would learn😁
Great video! Trying to get more active fishing different times of year and have been trying to learn as much as I can to avoid these areas and not pressure fish and this was an awesome source
Glad it helped. Have fun out there this fall.
Thanks for teaching us!
This is so awesome!!! Thank you 🙂

Great content as always!
Thanks Lee!
Thank you for the information
On the swift river in Massachusetts, we’re currently experiencing an epidemic of anglers wading through redds. It sounds odd but it’s actually given me hope because the community has gone *mental* over it. Half the guys you see on the bank talk about it and one went so far as to post signs with pictures. So as bad as its been, the reaction and awareness have skyrocketed in response.
Thankfully anglers usually care about the fisheries they rely on. Some just don't know how to care for them because of ignorance. Hopefully some education will help on the Swift and elsewhere. My goal was to assist a bit with this video so feel free to share it with anyone in your neck of the woods who would find it useful.

Have you ever gone over how you have your net rigged up? I’ve noticed that side position in your videos and was curious to how it’s set up.
Yes sir. It's in this video. ruclips.net/video/gBM0Nu6sd6o/видео.html
Loads of people purposely hit the brown redds at Georgetown lake here in Colorado. Watched people purposely foul hooking & running around carrying the fish out of the water for minutes at a time for pics. Also almost got in a fight telling guys to quit wading right on the redds. So disgusted watching the hordes ruin the whole spawn deal. These aren't fishermen, they are just people with fishing rods.
Sadly that behavior isn't limited to Georgetown. Hopefully this video helped educate a few people and change their behavior, even if it's just a few.
How’s that new hardy euro rod?
Send us an email at info@tacticalflyfisher.com and I’ll get you a response.
Wanna do steelhead next
The information is the same for steelhead. Their spawning time is usually February through May and the height of it will depend on the local run timing and climate.
