I just bought this exact same Eurovan on Vancouver Island today. Same year, with the manual transmission. Your video was super helpful with getting me acquainted with the ins and outs of this quirky little campervan. Thanks!
Cool! Glad it helped and hope you enjoy the van! You might also find this other video I made useful when it comes to the sink: ruclips.net/video/rGRxcYfvs3g/видео.html
@@gregc6661 The condition was exactly as it is now in the video. It had about 270,000km when I bought it. I'd prefer not to share the price paid, but the value has appreciated significantly in the time I've had it (6 years).
very cool. These were quite rare in Westfalia trim as most of the ones I've seen online seem to be the longer Winnebago versions. I'm in Canada and have seen a few of the Westy versions on the streets but very rare compared to the Vanagon versions.
I'm in Canada. You're correct. This isn't the US version, which was made by Winnebago in the US and looks slightly different. The version sold in Canada was made in Germany.
Everything is so complicated, plenty to go wrong with age. You can see why these things were so expensive. My conversion is better and cheaper by $tens of thousands. VWs are not reliable, so these must a nightmare.
@@BoiseTDI Nothing is 100% and certainly not all VWs. This whole VW reliability has been a myth for years. The last good petrol was in the T3, watercooled and the last diesel T4 1.9 NA/TD but that was really slow. The 2.4 was both unreliable and slow, this is the reason VW lost it's dominance, commercial owners want reliability, they work on cost.
I was on the struggle bus until this! Now I'm on the surfing bus! Thank you

Would you mind sharing the price you paid and condition etc?

Definitely rarer than the Winnebago versions, as this model was only made for Canada and not the US.
Thanks
Have you seen the autosleeper tops they have in europe?
Where are you located that this model is available? This is not a USA Westy.

VWs are 100% reliable if you maintain them properly.
