This is why I love the furry fandom, there is so much creativity.
Creativity is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it's very smart and inventive, but on the other hand, it can breed into something nightmarish and disturbing.

I actually have two Synth characters, and both are themed after Horizon Zero Dawn machines. ^^ Kalani is based on Stormbirds, and Raiden is based on the Broadheads, Striders, with a bit of Chargers.
I need a life. I cannot read the name 'Raiden' without instantly thinking about metal gear rising 😭
How fascinating. I think I sorta like these more than protogen. Though they are both pretty neat critters! I honestly may create one.

I'm adding Synths to my game universe with some unique lore.
i have known broadly about Synths for years (since i follow the creator artist) but only last year decided to dwelve deep and make my own (design still incomplete tho), which actually buddied up with my previous cat fursona in the backstory i thought of, quite the "sensible vs goblin" relationship eheh
I've always loved the concept of synthetic species (Geth were fascinating) and robots and AI and such, so it was only a matter of time till I made my own Synth or Protogen :v

(Protogens are half organic, and they had to rebel for freedom - Protogen lore is more dystopic, Synth lore is peaceful solarpunk)

i think synths are really cool! though i dont think i would make an oc of one since i dont really enjoy their designs. i love the lore and how customizable they are, i just prefer fluffy things lol
And not please do not think about Synths from Fallout 4 by Bethesda. Because some people reconize only those Synths from that game. But I know there are lizard looking Synths.

So I've been watching you're videos for a while ( while unsubscribed) for the heck of it, I continued drawing fursona's and other things for a while Until I reached a Video You made a year ago called "Buying your child a fursuit" I kept watching untill the end and by the time the day was over and me, my brother (who knew that I was a furry), and My mom (she did not know that I was a furry) So not long when we were going downstairs to have dinner when I said : "Um... Mom I have a confession to make..." and she was like : "well then what is it?" Then I proceed to tell her I'm a furry expecting the worst because I haven't actually met any furries in real life and that my friends were non-furries. But to my surprise she supported me!! She was Also interested in buying a fursuit or make one with me when I would be around either Mid 14 to 16. And that I would be maybe going to a furry con for the first time in the next 3 months!! I'm currently 13 soon to be 14 and this happened just yesterday. So thank you for Amazing videos that helped me see that Others can accept Me. Sincerely,Nabil Harb

Honestly the synth community left a bad taste in my mouth after my experiences with their telegram group. It's full of very strict mods who'll delete your messages if what you say is even a smidge off topic. You can't even have a normal conversation about your day cause it has to be related specially to synths and only synths. Like wtf. I get it's a synth group chat but c'mon.
you mean the main group, right? yeah the mods are strict, but that's no fault to the mass of the community

I have been hunting protogens and harvesting the corps to make a new one, now I see others another species... I must get my hands on this tech and weaponize it and give it the snake preditor-like mind.

In a way, yes. Synths are fully AI robots, while protogens are half-robot half-animal.
Think of it this way:
Synths are free reptilian-like robots that have no fluff {but CAN have fluff if they wanted to}
A protogen is a mammal-like animal that becomes a cyborg. They had to fight for freedom, and they have lots of fluff.

Robots are machines. Calling them a "species" is kinda dumb.
I see your point, but they’re set into the category of ‘species’ because they have feelings and senses of emotions. The extensive documentary made by Vader-san {the synth’s creator} say that synths do not see themselves as ‘computers’ or ‘machines’ but as Sure, they may be AI intelligence, but they identify as a species. But preferably, you can call them a ‘race’ as that is not specific on the terminology ‘race’ being organic/natural.
This isn’t just for you, but for others who also confused.
Sharp wit though, I never really thought of that.; that since they’re robots, ‘species’ is an off-put concept.
