i love these 1a auto videos and i love Sue! i could watch her give repair instructions all day long! ya'll are helping me save a lot of money! and i'm learning new skills and learning about my car it's great!
This is also the same for a 2014 model fiesta. Just did it yesterday and was the exact same. You do not need to remove the wipers and all that stuff. You can do it by removing the brake fluid reservoir. Much easier
Both front struts in my 13 Fiesta were leaking and on the way out. Rear passenger shock was blown. A mix of terrible roads, 110+ summer temps, sub 30f winters, and 100k miles. This video along with the rear shock video helped me replace all 4 struts/shocks in under 3.5 hours with hand tools and an impact drill. Suspension feels like when I bought the car new, and more importantly safe to drive again. Thanks for the bolt sizes and torque specs as well, that was a god send.
Some of this video was looking pretty familiar, I had some major deja-vu going on. Then I noticed how shiny the brake rotor got at 1:50, and it all made sense! Obviously it makes sense to record videos on multiple subjects, when you’re in the same area of the car. Use the common clips between them, and only take stuff apart once. I appreciate all the videos on the Fiesta repairs! I haven’t done a whole lot yet on my 2015 Fiesta SFE, but these have helped me feel good about what I need to do, given the lack of a Hayes or Chiltons manual :(
LOVE YOU!!! A left-side video!!! Hate autodoc and all the others out there on RUclips who only shows a right-hand side video that didn't have the same configuration?! (Anyway, it didn't show the vital part about the 5 mm Allen head). Almost called a tow truck before I found this video and could continue with my repair myself. TANKS 1A AIUTO! You're a true lifesaver! 👍
It is not necessary. It takes a little bit but you can reach that rear bolt without taking the wipers and stuff off. I just popped the brake fluid reservoir off and used an open end wrench. No problem at all
I couldn't help but notice the spring on the new strut were a lot less beefier than the one on the manufactures strut. Wouldn't it be better to just replace the strut in the old springs? Other than that, it was a good step by step video!

It's funny you say that because im in the proccess of having to replace these ones under warranty exhange due to I put my car on jack stands early this week to do work. By the time I got ready to jack up the last side to remove the jack I noticed when i was coming back down that my jack stand was stuck underneath the car instead of just free underneath it ready for me to put up. Uh oh,.. My car was near the ground!! I could have cried. It looks like the springs couldnt take the car with the weight uneven as i removed the stands. I suspect that the springs are not as strong as Motorcraft now. however there customer service is wonderful and got me new struts in the mail today just days later so that is worth it if they fix the deffect. However they didnt send the shock absorbers with the replacement and I fear they are going to be shot from the struts blowing out like this under the cars pressure and when im done I will still have an issue with the back side with the shock absorbers. I will find out here soon when im done! I know they will replace them if they are found to also be affected too tho so im not worried! Im happy tho!

Would help if you listed the required tools. I think there were 18mm, 15mm sockets and breaker bar used. Not sure about the rest.
She made it look easy. I'm gonna get my wife to do the struts on my car while I watch.

Why remove that shroud and the wipers? Couldn’t you get to the top of the strut bolts by moving the brake master cylinder?
Don't even need to do that... Use a ratchet spanner
It's how the job is charged out in a workshop. Mo time mo money?
Yes you are right, why she romove that shroud and the wipers? It does not make sense

Impacts the way to go😊
Best instructional vidio I have ever seen
Very thorough & informative…keep up with more diy instructions for 2011 fiesta S! You’re helping me save thou$ands!
Do you need to do I do a wheel alignment after replacing these
Torque:
Top: 29
Bottom: 59
So much work just to get to the top nuts of the strut.
Is it the same procedure for the hatchback?
In the UK it’s far easier there is nothing in the way.
