Wakesurfing behind 05 Malibu XTI 23 direct drive

This is just to experiment if direct drive can be used for wakesurfing. This is a little bigger 24 foot 2005 Malibu XTI, so the only killer IMO was the swim platform, since it cuts off the nicer side of the wake, that why newer boats have more narrower platforms.. I did use custom wake shaper, with added like 2 inches to the heights.. lol.. maybe :) good luck!

Wake looks pretty good for an XTi - are you using any sort of wake shaper or fat sacks?

I made my own wake shaper, but not much difference. I think my swimming platform killing the wake big time. Also as far as fat sacs.. I put 2 450s under the rear seats, one 850 inside the engine storage box to the right, and like 400 on the floor...Oh, almost forgot, I have 800 pounder inside the floor storage.

Rusty S Do you drop the wake wedge? Is your Bu the diamond hull or wake hull?

Did drop the wedge, and it helps a little. It's the 23 feet xti, so not sure what type of hull that is

Rusty do you weight down the front of the boat besides the 800 in the locker? Trying to figure out what to do for my XTI

I did put 800 lb in the floor storage that is next to the driver, nothing in the bow...although should of tried that
