This one of the most unique games I’ve ever played, environment changing every time you die, to the exploration and mysterious story, it reminds me of Prometheus and i love it
I am enjoying the crap out of this game. It’s one of those games that you just keep saying “ok this is definitely my last run” 😳👀 oh look I’m late for life
I think that the Spitmaw is way underrated. With slug on it, it destroys enemies. The only 2 guns I really use are the Spitmaw and the Electropylon Driver (the driver is SUPER OP when you have it leveled up.
Just got to biome 4 and I must say I don’t care if I get a level 100 gun once I see an electropylon driver I’m picking it up lol ... that gun goes brazy
Stack protection and health, protection stops you losing big chunks of health when hit, buy the leech artifact from the shop (it heals you as you do damage). Use hollow seeker with portal beam on it or the electric pile-driver. Thank me later 👍
Hi. Do you have to collect the yellow crystals that come out of enemies when you kill them? They disappear after a few seconds. I'm not sure if it's obalites or ethers.
basically the game forces you to where you stopped in a way.. for example yes you loose everything when you die but if you beat biome 1 boss and open the portal to crimson waste.. when you start again the game forces you to go to crimson waste... I remember there was a run where the first room I entered was literally the portal... so it’s just your choice if you still wanna stock up on consumables or just run straight there... rn I got to biome 6 so everytime j die I start back up at biome 4 but getting to biome 6 again takes like 10 minutes if I just run there since I kind of understand the mechanics of the shifting levels... basically the more you play and die the better your understanding of enemies and where to go... really fun game and I hope I didn’t bore you with all this talk lol

@@Ultra_Ken you keep some permanent items that help you get better equipment by unlocking secret areas earlier on. So the further you get into the game, each time you start a run you will get stronger earlier. You can also unlock weapon perks which stay unlocked if you die - the further you get through the game, the more perks your weapons will have. So its sometimes worth just doing a run and leveling up different weapon perks so next time you'll have them all ready to go. OP perks include the hollow seeker beam portal and turret portal, and the thermogenic launcher fully auto + replicating hits. The carbine with leech rounds is good for boss fights, but becomes pretty useless in later biomes as the damage output is nothing compared to thermogenic and hollowseeker.

Just in case this helps anyone else, because I didn’t find out until the last half of the game: -You can dash through red lasers and not take damage, but purple ones will hurt you. -If you find an item that’s locked behind a gate, there’s usually a button close by that looks like a glowing pyramid and if you shoot it, the gate will open. -You will eventually get the ability to submerge in water and those red pools without taking damage towards the end. Just keep playing.
Another tip in regards to the button you have to shoot for locked areas that I haven't seen ANYONE mention. If you're looking for the button, you can go into aiming mode and listen for the pulsing that the button emits. Should help keep you in the proper area at least if you're having trouble finding it.
If anyone is new to this game, I believe turning on “always sprinting” will massively help. I disagree about the weapons. Although I have my favorites, every weapon in this game is very powerful once you learn to use it. Since you will not always find the weapon you may prefer, you should learn to use them all, and if you're carrying a weapon that isn't currently working toward an upgrade, I would swap it for one that is (unless you're about to go into a boss battle and you know which weapon you want to use it). By actively working toward those upgrades, each weapon will become very powerful and you will become proficient at all of them. I would also advise players not to play cautiously. Play AGGRESSIVELY! Take those enemies down quickly. This really is a best-defense-is-a-good-offense situation. And finally, this may be personal preference, but after many hours of playing the game, I've come to the point where I prefer to worry less about obollites and upgrades and focus more on moving quickly through the biomes and staying in combat. Basically, focus on improving your skills as a player! Doing so is a more effective strategy than simply trying to stack the odds in your favor by picking up all the upgrades. I just hope I beat him soon, get better weapons and mostly, be able to progress more into the game.
I have to, with respect, disagree with the weapon selection. Save rooms for upgrading a weapon you might not like, even if to get the 2nd Alt fire... The Spitmaw for instance, with slug shot etc... plays completely different than a level 3-5 Spitmaw w/ "widemaw"... and it's a stagger beast! The Carbine gives you the protection... But Mag size can be an issue etc... Every time you Active reload, you can shave off Alt Fire cooldown with certain items... But if you have an Artifact that gives you +X proficiency or protection while Alt Fire is charging... well there beings the entry into the insane meta this game provides... and might actually prefer a large mag... as Active reload isn't as important on a build for that run...
I read that in the game you get 3 spaces to carry items, do you have any idea where to get them? That is, you start with a space where you put for example a medicine cabinet and the other spaces where they are? And I read that they are not lost if you lose, is that so?
I got really lucky on my 4th attempt in biome 1, which is when I finally beat the 1st boss. I got 2 artefacts, one of which increases your max integrity when you gain or fix a malfunction. The other fixes your integrity when you gain or fix malfunctions. So while I was playing, I picked up all the malignant items throughout the 1st biome, and did their little challenges. By the time I reached the boss, I already had twice as much health thanks to the artefacts, and some silphium resins. I reached max health near the end of the 2nd biome. So yeah some artefacts are really damn strong.
I think there is one spot at the beginning on you first life where the enemy will most likely kill you unless you are just god tier. Think of Dark Souls/Demon Souls "first" bosses.
They’re both good, Xbox had the edge with significantly better software and hardware support (it takes Sony over a year to give us expandable ssd storage, VRR etc that Xbox had from day one??) and Gamepass, plus no Sony tax of £70 a game, but they are both good consoles.
not a very good idea with how bad controller hardware is. I've lost 3 Dualshock 4s to L3/R3 not working, not going to make the same mistake with these even more expensive controllers
I just don’t understand why you can’t make a tip video without showing boss fights and biomes past the first and second level. Most people that would watch this type of video are doing so because they haven’t progressed much. Really should be careful not to spoil things. Just some constructive criticism. The video had good tips - especially didn’t realize that about the squid things in the first biome helping you reach inaccessible things.
Just finished the game after ten hours of playtime in my 6th run (with about 180 out of 250% hp and unused 2 revival items). Got to admit that I watched a guide for each boss before encountering them, so if I had chosen the learning by doing method it might have been twice the time/tries, but generally speaking: the game really isn't that hard when you know enemy patterns, farm a lot to increase your health and use that fucking pylondriver as soon as it becomes obtainable, because it's destroys everything.

Maybe you should have mentioned that if you do fight the bosses again, they give you 5 Ether and a free artifact, hence they are quite valuable.

It's harder than dark souls man good luck I'm a experience shooter and have beat bloodborne and demon souls, dark souls over n over again
I've been playing for 6 hours and im still on the first part 🙃,alot of fun tho
illuminati conspiracy
I was Iffy about Returnal now I'm fully hooked to the game.
Amazing game.. 10/10 for unique mechanics...
Carbine can be so OP since its the only one who can life steal
🥵
This game is so good. It's a crime if no dlc is provided.
I wish I had found this video earlier. Thanks!👍
I hope they make Returnal 2, it’s the main reason I bought PlayStation 5 over Xbox Series X 😅
They’re both good, Xbox had the edge with significantly better software and hardware support (it takes Sony over a year to give us expandable ssd storage, VRR etc that Xbox had from day one??) and Gamepass, plus no Sony tax of £70 a game, but they are both good consoles.
Believe me I know where that first boss is at 😡
One time I was so unlucky I discovered a glitch where you fall in the void till your dead and a glitch where you literally have to restart cycle
I got the one where the portal door doesn't open. I got stuck in a bonus room and had to use 3 lives to get out and use the Reanimator.
Turn your brightness down - it looks washed out af.
Very helpful! Thank you for sharing this with us.
I guess you just got a beat this game in one clip huh
I'm so pissed i paid for the deluxe version of this and didn't get the extra things smh
Go to your ship and check your inventory by your computer
I have three suits don't know about you
Is there anything in the ship?
You have to find the deluxe edition gun randomly in the game and the suit is inside the storage at the ship you start at 👍🏽
@@stevekerr1330 thank you
Just finished the game. God it was good.
My GOTY it’s so addicting!!
Can someone tell me how to access the bridges??
You need to beat 2nd boss.
@@mjk6071 2nd boss? How the hell do I get past the 1st???
@@agentnumbr6ix Stay calm, avoid bullets and keep the distance to the boss.
Very good and useful tips 👍👍
Good video.
I've never felt so lame like I do when playing this game.
Aww. Its been a month, have you gotten further or stopped altogether?
Is the hollow seeker in the game or I can’t get it at all without deluxe I bought the standard
You can get it for free from just playing the game, I think the 2nd biome has it
@@NovaSniper12 oh ok so I’m guessing that the deluxe just lets u get it earlier
So if i get once suit artefact like emergency repairs it doesnt dismiss after death?
They do dissappear, it's weapon proficiency and other weapon stuff that stays
@@ThomasJamesFarthing yes i figured out after i died lol, but once i bought it, it will start appearing randomly in locations?
Yes once you unlock an artifact you can then find it in random locations and it may come up in the shop
Eternal + Return = Returnal
🤯
Biggest tip I can give is map the dash button to R3!
That’s actually pretty smart . And turn sprint to always
not a very good idea with how bad controller hardware is. I've lost 3 Dualshock 4s to L3/R3 not working, not going to make the same mistake with these even more expensive controllers
When you die, you don’t keep the same weapon? I’ve changed weapons and it always gives me the same when if I die.
No spoiler warning. You should add that. Don’t show the boss....🤦♂️
Sounds fun…..not
Dude can’t see at max brightness
