  • Don’t let the unassuming song title fool you. This HAS to be the most dramatic and heart breaking song ever written. Shirley shows so much emotion while singing this She puts everything she has into this song, with the most dramatic ending of any performance I’ve ever seen. I’ve watched her sing this a hundred times, and still get chills. “Excuse Me” was written in 1966 by Donald J. Addrisi and Richard P. Addrisi. To add even more drama to the song, I boosted the bass. The video was also resized to the correct aspect ratio. (Width) The song was also recorded by Kikki Dee. Who?

I'm not sure how many Shirley Bassey (Dame Shirley Bassey) fans know that she stopped singing this song many years ago. During a radio interview with her, I asked why this song had been ushered out the back door. The answer was simple. I've listened to that interview while it was being copied to CD. In her words " Oh no! It was too painful to live out night after night. I mean, it's such an emotionally charged song. Those lyrics, well it begun to hurt more and more each time. I really feel and live my other songs, sad and joyous. "Excuse me" too draining ". She never sang this song again after late1973.
You're right Scott. Kiki Dee. Who? Her only song of note was with Elton John - "Don't Go Breaking My Heart"
