Both of the tutorials you have on the Akai S900/S950 where incredibly helpful, specially with the project settings, took me ages to find an answer on how to make samples “One Shot” and don’t overlap, but you explained it really easily and clear, thanks a lot for your amazing work.
Thanks for the generous feedback 🙏🏻 ..there's a deep dive on the S900, on the parent channel, if you need more insight, here 👍🏼 ruclips.net/video/wFdDES_mby4/видео.html
SUPER helpful. Thanks for walking through this. I use my s950 with my mpc 3000 in a similar way. Confusing at first, but these tips are great for new cats incorporating this incredible sampler into their workflow. Thanks for this!
Thanks for the fantastic video tutorial-it was clear, concise, and super helpful! Would it be safe to assume that the process for connecting the Rossum SP-1200 reissue to a Akai S-950 would be the same?
Maaan! I need to pay for a couple of hours of sessions with you @ToneLab! I have several devices that I need to relearn and others that I need further understanding on! I own the TR-909, Akai S950, Akai MPC 60 II, MPC X, MPC Key 61 and I'm patiently waiting for my E-A-SKI SP1200SE!!!! 😉😎💯
I showed the SP1200 rear MIDI output going into the S900 MIDI input. Everything else is purely down to the 'Audio Outputs'. What you, or anyone else, can fit in their Mixer or Audio Interface doesn't really change the MIDI configuration demonstrated here. If you need more detail on both the SP1200 and S900/S950 for 'audio' then try the full tutorials over on the parent channel @tonelab 👍🏼
Well.. the MPC4000 kits contain WAV format sounds.. and they're 44.1k/16bit. So, they'll load in to the majority of DAWs and Virtual Samplers out there.. including the Inphonik SP1200 👍🏼
Question: I have noticed also when you triggered the sample that the sine tone gets played as well. I have this issue and would like to know how to get it to not play the sine tone when i trigger it? Thanks for your videos!
Thanks.. but, the simplest explanation, which I also mention in the clip.. is.. you simply have to avoid using Pads with Sounds on them or vice versa, don't use keygroups that cross over into 'notes' your SP1200 'sends' out👍🏼
Not from the SP1200, no. However, If you're wanting to control the 'Tuning' of the SP's Sounds from an external keyboard.. you can. If you want to know how to do that watch the MIDI Pitch Keys 'index marker' in this in this clip 👍🏼 ruclips.net/video/fJllMiVqL3U/видео.html

i would kill for a setup like this
Whoever came up with the idea, and I’m guessing it was Marley Marl or Paul C, was a genius

Thanks very much 🙏🏻 ..in answer to your question.. "It's exactly the same for the Rossum" 🫡

brilliant, would love to see an mpc60 or mpc200xl setup like this :)
Thank you! ..yep, I'll be doing a few more set-ups with various combo's 👍🏻
It would be cool if we could use the tonelab products with the iphonik sp1200 VST.

Did you remove the rubber feet of the SP1200 to sit it flush on top of the S900?
Nup, maybe just the camera angle playing tricks 👍🏼
I removed the feet on mine to sit on top cleanly
very nice

@@tonelabqt Let me try this later at home.
so there is no way for the Faders to send midi value?
