I used to play this game as a kid, and I also had the game guide. Listening to this music while reading the guide was a pretty common experience, but honestly this music used to creep me out. I don’t know why, but something about the game being so dreary and the pause menu being… kinda the same, just an abrupt menu that immediately pops up with this music, just creeped me out a lot as a kid. And I mean this in the best of ways, as this game is probably one of the things that developed my love for darker and more somber/creepy media
I also used to be creeped out by the Pause Menu music. Mostly the music box part of the song. Epic Mickey was my first introduction to the darker side of Disney. I wonder if the Rebrushed game would be even creepier now that it’s in HD 60 fps. What makes this game so horrifying is the environments & the Beetleworx robots.
Although I never got to finish the game, This brings back so many memories, hopefully in the remake, I'll finish this game properly. Update: I have already pre-ordered this game, am coming back mickey.
Mostly because I got stuck in certain complicated puzzles/quests that my young self couldn't figure out, hopefully I'll be able to understand theses puzzles/quests better when the remake comes out.
I remember playing when I was younger. When things got intense, I got on the pause menu just to listen to the song, analyse my health and take a breather. It was mostly for the song though.
