@@HCaulfield115 Well let's see how he steps up now that he has confidence. Every player has their best surface, but still manage to win on others. So much of it is mental so he keeps it togeather he may have a shot at the French or Wimbledon now the old gaud is passing.
Or he could be a Saffin and just does it once. I'd prefer we see see a consistent champion that's committed and goes on to greatness.

@@johniii8147 in this presser Daniil himself said he’s not as smooth on grass. On Clay I think his ball is too flat to have great success there. But currently I think he’s the best on hard courts. He’s the best mover I’ve ever seen on the tennis court at that height. It’s pretty incredible how quick he is at 6 6

@italkcrab We shall see. It will come down to his commitment to continue to improve or just be content with his victory. We've seen a lot of the latter. What set the big 3 apart was their relentless commitment to be the best. I don't necessarily see that of Danill yet. In his press conference he was more concerned about his party schedule and seemed rather uninterested in his remaining tournaments for the year. That's not how champions tend to react if they are really committed to being at the top of the sport.

Daniil's serve was diabolical, his shots were on point, and that dead fish was legendary. So happy for him! If there was any player who could've gotten Djokovic to lose, it was definitely him. Such an underappreciated player. It's unfortunate for Novak since we all know what he was trying to achieve, but who knows :) He's still strong and can aim for another calendar slam next year (he'll make 21 slams for sure though). Glad he was also able to feel some love from the crowd. Never heard them scream for him like that before. Must've meant a lot. Congrats to both for great tennis.

And that's why he can talk at pressers like he actually has something going on in his head. Cause he has experienced some alternatives. You know if his career ended suddenly he would find a dozen different things to do and succeed at. Whereas Tsitsipas, Zverev, Thiem.. if they had to stop playing tennis they would be staring out the window with a blank mind for years.
