I think you missed the point clearly stated by other CC - he is single target control. So you need you use him in places where you have these high HP slow single enemies (void rift dudes mainly, maybe high level campaign) and not ever with mobs of enemies. He need to have single enemy to focus on, no distractions. This make him usable in very limited way but might be critical there and he acts as if he would be unkillable defender against single enemy - stops him and damages over time. GR I is the worst place to try to use him ;)
Exactly; that was the point of all the content we showed. I was quite impressed but it was VERY Good gear to make it happen also. People seem confused by that haha. And apparently where to use him in that way as you point out

@BattleChi777 he used him in gr1 where it makes no sense. I showed real content too lmao. Not like I made a fake video... I showcased someone's real runs. Nothing deceiving or untrue about it.
@BattleChi777 I don't need to build him... that's the point of my viewer showcases, show what someone else has worked hard on. I will build him eventually... when I get pushing faction trials. But not sure why everything has to be "relatable". Isn't it fun to push things to the MAX too and see what heroes are capable of in top tier gear? Every other game does that... hell, go watch the MAD guys here do the same thing. I want to show more like that... not everything has to be "f2p friendly". And I am pretty tame when it comes to "clickbait". We are wrong about shamir; he has unique end game potential and deserves credit for that. Most people aren't doing NM void rift & Stage 12 Northern Faction. That's where we showed him. That's the level of gear and account you need to pull it off. Obviously

I agree with you that Shamir may not be a mid-game hero. I have both ATK and SPD on my Shamir build, and I really like him... but I don't use him everywhere. They just buffed Demon Soldier crowd-control resistance during the last patch, and that broke my GVG defense that had been undefeated since the second week of GVG. Shamir stun-locking demon soldier tanks was really effective... and it doesn't work anymore. At some point the patch cycle will swing around again, and until then, I will keep using him where he is useful.
This touches on something you had said in one of your videos; I don't remember if it was talking about Nauvras or Titus. You said that the joy of these games is the experimentation and playing around. Shamir is one of the ones that I have played around with a lot, and he still provides joy to me. I don't regret any of the resources I put into him, and I don't expect to repurpose gear off him.
I'm not offended if you don't like Shamir. I think it's good to know what each hero is capable of with full investment. After that, it's all about prioritizing what you want to develop on your account. That's what makes us unique, and it's okay for you to be different from me.

He's a situational hero. Useful when focusing one target. If he has to switch targets might well not use him.
Run him in void rift stages with the golems. He's a golem specialist.
I heard it through the grapevine, but Crach is low key amazing! Build with 25k attack and 1k speed and you're good to go!

OK Ash...lol , He is for slowing the damage your tanks are getting so the heals can keep up. The moobs need to be drowing so it's going to take a couple hits can stun lock them. Dose not work with groups of mobs. Hope this helps , keep up the good work 👏

Ash, I have been subscribed since almost day one. I really appreciate the mistakes you make and the videos talking about them. It’s kind of disheartening to watch some of the other channels where they have 15 A5 legos and they spend the whole video talking about stuff I won’t have for years. I also like your summon videos where you summon hundreds of times and get the same crappy hero’s I get during my summons. It gives me hope that I can actually be successful at this game.
You are not wrong, Ivy is. I saw that video where she made you believe she can stunlock mobs.
I guess you didn't watch my video with the other creator then... It's not like we made up how good shamir is in certain areas. He's single target though. literally no point to even put him in GR1

The same story, had to build him for fraction trial, I was impressed by his performance there and thought he can do something similar elsewhere, but nope - he can't 😕

I have seen a vid of him doing crazy stuff including immobilize and great single target damage against end game content but he does require insane gear I think like 700+ speed get his attack down to 1.1 speed, even 1.0 speed is possible. But that is out of reach of most players, likely eve out or reach of Ashes account. The insane speed increases his passive stacks and reduces the window his target can move so the power ramps up the higher speed, 500 speed is nowhere near enough. The Shamir on Ivy's showcase had 712 speed

Same here. Not having many Legends, and even other good Epics. Shamir is for now 1 of my 'best' Mages😂😅
But I still have a lot of the Heroes I hope to summon someday. And indeed my opinion will be different, if I got better Heroes to compare😂😁

Ash, i think for him to have decent damage he needs to be A5. That increases his power by quite a lot. I have him A5 and max skilled. I have a 1.2 attack interval and he can lockdown units to where he can kill and you dont need a tank in some areas you would need. Like the golems in chapter 9 of campaign. I also have a tidal ring on him which helps slows by quite a bit. He can kill units. Inwill say he is very gear dependant. You can stun lock people with more attack speed. But most players cant hit the levels of attack speed necessary to do that and most wont have him A5. I got 2 shamir early on. Then i got 5 out of about 7 leggos were shamir on 1 banner. So he is A5 +1 sold. He doesn't really do that much aoe. Only on his ult but he doesn't lock down huge groups. He shines where he can lockdown 1 to 2 big units that need magic damage to kill but high defense. He can kill them workout needing a tank where you might normally need one. That's my two cents.

@ASHWatcherofRealms I will say to the point of your video, with the current content out, there arent a lot of places he can uniquely shine so much better than other units that he would be worth investing in for most players. I think he needs to be A5 to be good, and as you said, Ai or Marri can do a similar or better job in some cases. He can do a better job in a few niche cases, but i do agree that most should avoid building him. But he needs A5 and max skill crystals to be viable, in my opinion, and most leggos, if you invest that much, should be dominating a lot of content in general and he dominates only in a few areas. I know his kit reads as aoe, but he is a single target mage. Build with attack speed, but if you had a bit more attack on him he would be doing quite well. 1.3 attack speed is the minimum break point. The break point after that is 1.1, so you could stack more attack and he will do well. I use him in hard and nightmare void rift on the golem stages, and he is a monster in faction trials. He doesnt do well until you have end game gear though. 100 percent truth on that one.
Yea, I saw someone commented on him that he destroy nightmare guild boss, I checked his account and he had Shamir awakening 5 with about 80K BP. So definitely and end end end game gero

I think they missed the mark on him very badly. But at the same time due to his very high attack for a mage, if he was AOE he would be pretty busted with his kit (which I would be 1000% onboard for)

Definitely, I'm pretty sure if they are able to experience the actual Good mages they might reevaluate that what they're using is crap.

Would like to see a collab with you and seamus he was on with ivy demoing some shamir uses. He is single target though so i think end game capaign or void rift. Not in aoe situations. Doesn't make him great but just a niche use champ. Watch all your content and great as always.

well i have him as my second lego and using him everywhere except guild boss on mary´s place. Control wise hes on same level i would say and does much much more dmg. i have them both only 5 star.

no one ever said he's a good GR1 or XP raid champ i think :)
go NM VR and try to tank the golems, u will very quick find out that u dont want to do that
better to use someone like Shamir that can solo them
While a tank, even if he can tank them, will need a healer, and still a dps
edit: before someone says anything, i have all the top mages
none of them is able to solo his own lane vs those VR golems
closest is Nocturne with Marri help, Shamir can do both roles

Well if you get him to shoot every 1.1 second instead of 1.2 the targets will move half as "fast" as they did now with 1.2. And if you get him to 1 second they will be standing still.
How much attack speed would that require?? Probably way over 800, somehow

i am going to have to disagree on this. I was unlucky enough to get double shamir from a 1+1.. Not having khamet/boreas/vierna. i built this dude A1. 490 atk speed. 16k attack and crit capped.. Chapter of campaign became a breeze with him. also in the void rift (the phase similar to camping 9). Opening up slots as i didnt have to lah a tank or melee on the side he covers. I agree he is not the greatest, but when you dont have the big boy mages and in specific areas, he is serviceable

I pulled Shamir twice early on and traded his dupe in because of all the hate the community gave him. I guess like the old saying goes, opinions are like @$$h0le$. Everyone has one, and they all stink but mine.

My first 3 legendries were 2 healers and this bust.
I only use Shamir in faction trial and can't clear it without him. But I combine him with Marri and Maul to really lock down many monsters. For this to work, Shamir has to have a decent amount of attack and crit rate. No crazy attack amount, but just enough to kill the enemies because Marri does no damage and Maul is also just used for control. Just going with speed and ignoring the other stats is pointless.
He is just a niche hero for me and that's it. Not using him anywhere else.

Shamir isn't aoe so gr1 not good. He's usable where you need to deal with single target waves. Not great but useable in some instances

120days in and just pulled him today, actually im glad, not because he is good i knew he is trash since my first days playing but you need this stupid character to 3star faction trial 12 because you are forced to use 3 mages and there are only 3 wtf
its a ST mage with aoe procs SINGLE TARGET xD
My shamir is quite good but doesn’t shine a light on the likes of greed and other aoe beasts that I don’t have yet
Also he does work for me in faction trials with the epic lord skill him olague and vortex can clear stage 9 wouldn’t be possible for me currently without him

I got suckered into building him by another CC as well. He just sucks. Don't listen to anyone saying he's good. He's not. If anyone out there wants to claim he's good, I want to see a video of him being good. Please leave me a link. I will eat my words if there's a build that makes him good that I don't understand. Until that time, he's garbage.
It was just an end game dude using him with great gear when any actual top tier mage would have done a better job.

This game is trash, the pull rate becomes ridiculous soon into the mid game
These tests don't really show much in reality since he's being used wrong in the video. He is for large slow enemies that are like 1-2 at a time not a swarm. He's needed to complete faction trials. Also the gear matters, he needs a soul bound arcana set just like most mages to get his full potential. He is a situational hero though so he's better left to be built when you have you have your core units for like gb and gear raids done.
One bit of advice that would help you is try to make the sets because stats over sets is more for early game than where you are. If you just build like 2 soul bound arcana and 2 infernal roar sets (with good/decent stats) that u can move around, it makes life alot easier as you build out the rest of ur acct.
