It's basically been about one and a half years since we broke ground on our house and in our last episode we called for final inspection and needless to say, we didn't pass. But we did get a short list of things to fix and now we're on the road to fix those things and get our certificate of occupancy!!! Even though we have a lot of work left to do on the house, the initial build is going to hopefully be cleared today!!! Yay!!!

Oh my heart when grandma held Leo and the way she looked at Trent when he was holding Leo. Love, love, love grandma and grandpa. Yay, the final inspection is over and it's official. What a great time it's been watching these videos. I looked forward to Mondays and Fridays and can't wait to see what's next!

I noticed an uptick in the quality of the videos, but not that it really matters. I suppose the only thing they have left to do, for this part of the operation, is to actually post the numbers of their address on said stone, or whatever. Not to say they will share that with us, other than as an obtuse point, but that's the bow of ribbon on this present, as I see it. They have done so well.
To be honest with you, I see Allie's father's smile on Leo, and as well,Trent's determination in his eyes, adorrned at such a young age, as not only convinced to live, but determined as well, which not all do. Just look at his eyes, as he sees to explore.

I cried a little when Trents Grandma held Leo. As I get older, I’m 60, everytime I hold a newborn baby I wonder how many times more I will get that special moment. Well done on your house build and here’s to a good 2022
Oh my gosh, the way that your grandma held Leo and looked at him made my eyes leak!! and the way she looked up at Trent when he was holding Leo (around the 19:38 mark) melted my heart. Your grandpa held him with such care and love too.

Leo riding in the truck is great. The more he's exposed to bumping around, and household noises, the better he will sleep through. it's a rough life to have to tip toe and shhhh everybody.

My stupid SIL watched tv with no volume on. From then on it was a total mess. Did she learn with #1? No! Same thing with #2. She wrote the book on what not to do. #2 still breast feeds at 51 ( metaphorically speaking of course).
For sure, they get used to household noise very quickly!!!! It makes life much easier.
Growing up, when the baby was asleep, the vacuum came out. Then on the days/nights when the baby could not sleep, they would bring the vacuum out and turn it on. Not only did we have a clean house but the baby learned how to sleep through most noises (plus the vacuum helped to cover the cries of the baby)…not to worry all of you, my parents knew the different cries and only did this to help settle the fussy baby and not when the baby was ill or in pain such as an upset tummy.
Yep 👍 I never modified the noise, they adapt so well, my daughter 43 years ago 😉 slept through anything 😂 made life easier ☺️

Am I the only cry baby who cried watching Trent’s grandparents with Leo. It was such a sweet moment. I’ve said this before but Thank you for sharing your life with us. It’s made me smile/cry / laugh on many occasions. I’m newer to your channel but I’ll be here for as long as you’ll have me.

The door onto the deck feels like it needs a portico/overhang or something along those lines. Would also provide a little protection from snow sliding off the roof right as you step out of the door.
Would u ever consider it? Is there such a thing as electric wiring for outside steps to melt the Snow? Those steps still look steep for babies, mama/daddies, an older folks? U have such high tech other stuff. Or are you going to just build a roof over entire porch? Sitting out on porch with the new metal firepit are great.
Trent and Allie congrats! Take Brandon out for a big dinner! He was there everyday for you! OR a wonderful Christmas Bonus!!!

Congratulations! So happy that ya'll have your certificate of occupancy. The tree is beautiful. So awesome seeing trent's grandparents meet Leo. Awesome that Leo slept longer. Allie, I learned the hard way to leave sleeping babies alone. He will definitely let you know when he's hungry,just relax and let him guide the feeding times now. It will definitely go a long way with your rest and keep you from getting overwhelmed. Babies can sense your frustration also and will sleep the best with a rested mother. Maybe burp a little bit longer to see if that helps with the spit ups. I read somewhere that Russia or somewhere has the least cases of colic because they are particular about making sure they get 3 burps before stopping. Just a little tidbit of info that I wish I had known before my son got colic. 3 months of a colicky baby is 3 months of nonstop crying and no sleep only 5 minute cat naps at best. Don't be shy about any help or breaks that you can get, you and Leo will need it every so often. You are a wonderful mother and we all need some advice with the first one. So please understand that I am only giving you some pointers and definitely not trying to tell you how to raise your sweet baby. God bless and Merry Christmas!

It was so wonderful going through that whole journey with you - The laughs and the tears have been amazing! I remember when you first told us - you bought the land and were so proud. Seeing them in masks was the worst part of the video but I agree, Trent is definitely the most wonderful expression of a wonderful upbringing and little Leo I feel is going to be brought up in a similar environment of love and kindness ❤️

@@shac9131 yes, and coffee but I suppose he could have been raised as a Mormon and decided not to continue with it as an adult 🤷🏻♀️
@@shac9131 yeah, I got a bit involved with a Mormon family for a while, they had 13 kids and about 100 grandkids 😳 I never met any of the family as they lived in America and I was in the Isle of Man at the time (they were on a mission there) and they were a really lovely couple, I loved spending time with them, they were thoughtful and kind and very interesting and I did go to their church a few times, which I always enjoyed but after some time they wanted me to convert to their church and at that time I wouldn’t say I was against the idea but I certainly wasn’t ready to jump in but I left the island shortly after that anyway.
I also have a couple of friends who are Mormon - both very dodgy although when one is doing dodgy things, even if he drinks coffee, he stays away from church because he says he’s ashamed of himself but when he goes, his life improves dramatically in several ways and especially work wise because they’re like the Freemasons in that they support each other so as an electrician he gets loads of work etc but also lots of friendship, shared meals out etc.
From my experience of them, it has always seemed a lovely religion to be part of, I love how they conduct their Sunday services and how they support their young people, I never really found anything I didn’t like about it and would definitely go to their services again and spend time with them but I don’t want to become one but not because of them but more because I’m not really into organised religion but for sure, my experiences with them has been nothing but positive and very enjoyable.

What a great way to start the new year,house done,baby is here,and now the living begins.we always got a balled tree at christmas to plant in the yard.you should plant a tree in Leo's name in your yard.they can grow together.years from now when he is 10,you can sau,we planted this tree when you were born.

Allie, your baby is so precious. Have you tried to feed him on your left side? That side is very important for moms to connect with their babies. Leo just keeps getting cuter and cuter. He seemed to really enjoy meeting his great-grandparents for the first time and I know they were absoluetly thrilled. One command that worked super well with my Australian Shepherd was "leave it!". She knew exactly what I was saying, what it meant and would follow that command immediately. Congrats on everything. The house is amazing!

Oh my goodness that was soooo sweet bringing the baby to see grandparents. Brought tears to my eyes. ♥️ Life’s so short and that will be in their thoughts when they need the memories the most. Blessings to you all.
I loved watching Grandma and Grandpa seeing the baby and holding him, but my favorite was seeing the love in Grandma's eyes when she was looking up at Trent! We have an artificial tree so we don't have to worry about it drying out and catching on fire...such a terrifying thought especially after my niece's house burned to the ground the week before Christmas. She, her husband and 7 year-old daughter literally escaped with the clothes on their back. We are so grateful that they were not hurt, but their house, both cars and camper were destroyed in the fire. Their Traeger exploded and blew the fire into the house but I digress. I loved the music you played during the decorating! Somewhere there is a Valerie with a Trent stocking wondering what happened to hers.😆Your tree and house looked amazing! You might could put the star on from standing up on the steps and reach over the handrail. Love to you all 5 from SC, Jane❤

Why do I cry every time I see your Grandma? Not kidding...bawling. Do you realize what a gift your grandparents are...not everyone gets that. So blessed! Yay and congrats on passing and finally moving in, it's been a journey.

I'm a new mom, too, and one thing I have found is super helpful is putting a prefold (to a large cloth diaper) underneath baby when in the bed. Really helps with any possible leaks or spitups (and saves us from doing the laundry again lol!
when Allie mentioned a visit to the Great-Grand parents, I started bawling, it was so sweet, God Bless All .

The house looks brilliant! Congrats on Leo sleeping more! Can I say from experience of 3 kids floor time is so important I’m so glad to see you doing it early! It really helps them strengthen there muscles. It gives them independence early! Congrats on the final inspection! YOU BUILT A HOUSE! Woohoo! Not many people can say that!
I have a 2 year old and a six month old. We’ve done way more floor time with our six month old simply because we have a toddler to chase and the extra floor time shows. He plays independent so well. He’s already starting to crawl. He’s so inquisitive. And in the early days he’d often fall asleep during tummy time and I swear that helped him learn to sleep independently and he hasn’t needed us to rock him to sleep in 2-3 months.
