Picked one of these up last year for only £50, love it as it stores every CD I have with some space left. My old IBM model M keyboard sits on top it for all my CD naming needs.
I have one and a CD hung up so nearly 300 of my CDs are trapped in there. I suppose it needs a new belt kit. I saw one once online but didn't buy. Maybe check Amazon. I never fixed it because I just listen to YT Music or Pandora. I'm retired now and have the time so I think I'll try to fix it. Any tips or pitfalls you discovered while fixing yours that you could share?
@@freespirit1975 The re-belting was a breeze...Make sure you index the turntable correctly to keep CD positions the same. The info to repair this unit can be found on YT, and the 3-belt kit was on ebay for about $7-8. These Sony's are good machines and the sound is excellent!...I love CDs. Btw, when my machine "jammed" and wouldn't play,....it was the belts!
@@vulcangunner58 Thanks! I found one for about $9 on Amazon. Did you lose any CD title inputs? Mine has been idle now for a few years and about a year ago I even unplugged it. I think the chances of all of those titles still being in memory are slim to none. It was a real PITA typing all of those in-even using my computer keyboard. Well, I'm retired now so I got the time.
@@freespirit1975 My unit was unused for about 3 years, but still plugged in. I lost nothing. But, you must keep the carousel indexed properly to keep titles in order after re-belting. (The carousel has to be removed for belt install.) I was in a bad collision last year, and was determined to have my "jukebox" in order for recovery from a couple of surgeries. It took about 30 minutes to re-belt, and the Sony is like new!...Good luck, these machines are really convenient and they sound great.
You should do a more in depth video of different set ups and tricks and capabilities you can really pull off with this thing. Also, I watched other videos where this model is the subject matter of course, and it seems like there's built in speakers on it? Or do you need speakers? I'm not too tech savvy, but the Sony CD player I have now, has wires that you have to stick in metal holes with little plastic vice clamps, and sometimes you have to mess with the wire to get the connection to bite, but I don't see such holes on this model.
Its nothing but a simple CD player … you push play and thats it … just fitted with all CD you have … most buttons are to choose the CD and title and via vintage cable keyboard you can use CD text. Of course there are no speakers build in. Its a hili separate … you plug it into your receiver or AV receiver which everything else is connected to including your speakers … or you can use any device with aux in … optical/coax for digital or RCA for analog … with this machine alone you cannot do anything. I have it linked to my Denon x6700h and my home theatre speaker system. But actually mainly use apple music for music.
@@GanymedeXD This CD player is awesome. I figured out the ropes of it. When making a Hit List, you'll want to try and choose like 3 or 4 songs off an album consecutively, if not, the CD player will change CDs a lot, which it can, but, you shouldn't push it. It would rather just stick with one CD for a while, instead of playing one song off one CD, one song off another, and say, you make the CD player go "WTF" and you have it programmed to play the next song off the previous CD you just had it on. At that point, it might get confused putting a CD back on the carousel and popping the next on to play, at which point, you just turn it off, and then back on, but all in all, this CD player is ahead of its time. Very generous option for the CD collector. It exposes you to your collection in ways you never would have the serendipity otherwise.
@@GanymedeXD This 300 cd changer isn't anywhere near a "simple" cd player. it has lots of different controls. also, it's obvious that you'll connect it to a stereo system, i've never seen a standalone cd player with speakers
When we say that our products are SpenCertified, it means that we cleaned the item inside and out and verified that everything functions as intended. On the mega disc changers, we replace the belts most of the time. We always try to get the cosmetic condition to like new as much as possible. Most of our products are good to very good condition. We do have a CX355 available that is almost like new. The previous owner took very good care of it.
Hi, you must search online, on ebay I hot most … original ones sometimes can be as expensive as the units are … but you can get programmed replacements …
just found one on these in a roadside trash pile....melted belts....2 hour of cleaning & new belts and it works good as new!

You can get one at this link. spencertified.com/collections/mega-disc-cd-changers-25-400
Control A1 is for daisy chaining units together, not connecting to a "Sound System".
