I just found your channel about 2 months ago. (few days after this was posted) I have officially turned my WK2 into my daily/work/ family trail ride vehicle. (the JKU is for the extreme stuff) watching this video and your others has really helped with locating stuff for my WK2 since the market doesn't seem to be there for after-market parts. You have an amazing build going on your WK2. I'll be doing a walk around on all 3 of my builds hopefully soon after I have everything installed.
That’s awesome! And thank you. 🙏. I’m glad I could help out. Yes it is tough and very limited when it comes to building these things. There is literally 3 different companies that deal with wk2s so that means only about 3 different looks. I’ve tried my best to make mine stand out short of doing a straight axle swap haha
@@GrandExploration Just saw the comment about that swap. I'm definitely curious about that swap. I won't do it myself, but that would be pretty cool to see in action.
@@Night_Fury_jk I know a guy doing it in northern California with 1tons /40’s and a behemoth 800hp. I should be getting the interview on my channel before it goes to Sema
I did the roof rack mod the same set up you have the bolts I got were m6x1.0 ruffly half inch longer that stock. Love the build thanks for killer content
Sweet build, it's been a ride seeing all the upgrades! Do you have plans on changing the wheels/rims in the foreseeable future? Those look fine, but I'd bet some 16" Black Rhinos would look wild, and think of all the sidewall!! 😂 (assuming you can go with 16" with your break set-up, but 17" could also be a nice off-road upgrade)
Thank you sir! Yes I do have plans to got with a 17” wheel.Black Rhinos are sick but I’m very interested in running bead grippers by Method so that I can really drop my air pressures. I think the smallest I can go is 17”. I’m going to wait for these tires to wear down first.
Thank you! Not a whole lot of experience. We went to look at one for my wife cuz she liked the way they look. They have grown on me. The only thing I do know about them is the knuckle under the UCA prevents you from adding a bigger tire unless you do some real work under there to make it work. I can’t wait to see one on the trails with 35’s. It will happen soon
Dude, great job as always on your videos! Thank you for being so descriptive. Such a great build. I used your light switch panel for my lights and absolutely love it. I think that I'll do the 3" lift next as I only have a 2" right now and your jeep looks great with it. The more clearance the better! Where can I send you a pic of my grand? I love your channel. Keep the vids coming!
Thank you. I’m glad to hear that. I really appreciate you. If you have IG you can find me at Grand_exploration. The link is also in my bio. Would love to see.
The GC is coming along really well. It looks really good. I may have missed it, how are you securing that Pelican case to the top rack? I want to do something like that with my WK to free up space in the back.
Dope rig man!! Are you in Kenmore? I have a '19 Sterling Edition GC. Looking to go for a modest lift kit (Tuff Country or Rocky Road) and some slightly larger tires. I have the 20" stock rims, but looking to downsize the rim to a 17" and some beefier meat. Any pointers or obstacles I should look out for?
Hey, thanks!! Nice. If your going to do a lift I would personally stay away from rough country unless your just doing a spacer lift. Their full suspension lift is not worth taking out your better stock suspension for their budget suspension. I’ve met many guys that run it off-road and strictly on road and it just doesn’t hold up. Rear sags just from having passengers. And it cannot hold up off-roading.
@@GrandExploration Good to know. I wouldn’t really take it “off road”. It would likely to get to hiking trail heads. Logging roads, etc. mainly looking for a bit more room for some larger tires.
welcome to fatherhood! Currently considering the WK2 as my new "Do All" vehicle. These videos are def creating a roadmap. Any suggestions on trim levels to go after if I want a capable weekend rig?
Thank you I appreciate it greatly. My 2015 limited with the Quadra track 2 system works pretty well. I do wish I had a rear locker like the trailhawk but the trailhawks air suspension is no good for me. I think if I had the choice I would get the same model only go with the 5.7 liter. It’s a better engine than my 3.6. There are flaws with the 3.6 that people consider unreliable. There are mods to help with it but I would say try and get a 5.7 and you will be fully capable. Just stay away from Quadra trac 1 if you can.
Be sure you want a 5.7. I have one, cut out the midmufflers, and love it. The only problem is the weight of the 5.7. I could only lift it with Rocky Road Outfitters Spacer lift.
@@TylurForkland at this time I was using RRO UCAs. But I don’t recommend them. I switched to JBA and they are perfect. But I don’t think they make them for the wk2 newer than 2015
Ooh let me think. It may have been about 2”. If you have the tow package just limit up with the bottom of your receiver or the bottom of the big tow bar behind the plastic. But I believe it was 2”
I used to run nitto ridge grapplers. I had more ordered but they were back ordered so I decided to try something new. The geolandar is a very strong tire and it’s done great with everything I throw at it plus they look sick
I agree. My wallet looks better with money in it. In time. Comments are so rough haha. You spend all this money and time into a build and all you get is…. Would look better if. Lmao 😂 it’s rough out here on RUclips. Hope you liked something. Thanks for watching though.
Great build.i wish jeep would of made them with a straight axles in them

Great build, great staging, awesome music in the introduction!
Thank you brother
