- The Upside Down Stonefly is a twist of on a pattern I saw scrolling through instagram one day. This fly is a cool looking imitation of a golden stone but can be tied in different colors to match the stoneflies in your area. One reason I like this pattern so much is that it is easy to keep it thin. The patterns that I catch the most fish on are ones that are thin and cut through the water quickly to get in the strike zone as quickly as possible. Give this pattern a try and I would suggest you try it in brown and black also.

No problem! I'm a die hard jig guy. I like to tie them this way when I can. This hook with the long shank makes it easy.
That is a great idea and tie. Well Done!!!
