Thanks a lot for the upload, couldnt catch this live. Also so glad someone finally talks about Knees self-sabotage lol. At the end of T7s lifetime he would play like 3-4 different characters in tournaments and it would never work. I dont think Tekken is the game for this. One pocket fighter maybe but going from feng to a mishima to negan to whatever was so triggering to watch, it never worked. I really hope he sticks to one character this time.
Law's crap df1 really discourages me from playing him more. I don't like relying on short df1, b1, b2, and df4 when Shaheen and Lee have much better df1s and stronger mids overall. Shaheen and Lee also have better high crush options than Law, imo. Can't wait to see what Miguel is like in T8!
FF 2 for Reina does NOT need to be nerfed. On block she gets crotch jabbed. On hit she can still be jabbed out of more than half her follow up options. It in no way compares to Azucena running 3 2. It doesn't launch, it doesn't jail you nor does it wall splat. Fight me! 😂
I was thinking the same thing. It’s also the foundation of her approach game lol nerf that and she’s really gonna struggle. I think we need to leave Reina alone for a while until more tech is discovered.
@@danielcarbaugh4354 She can approach with Wavedash or Electric. FF2 on top of Mishima Tools is why it's a problem. FF2 also has this weird jousting thing where it's like she approaches with a lance and it just wins against Keepout for some reason. The reason it's strong is because of what it adds, not because it's this OP thing in and of itself (It is OP Reina Players, because you can FF2, do nothing, and bait retaliation to gather data. People always seem to forget that part)
@@kylefields3951 Kazuya, Jin, Devil Jin have basically the same move including wave dash. Why should Reina be singled out? Every move including a jab is used to gather data. Your argument applies to the entire Tekken roster. I main Reina and I trade with ff2 all the time. Even her one jailing (on hit only) follow up, ff2 3 trades against jab mashers and resets neutral. I can tell what she lacks. Launches. Her best launch is crouch df 4... easily blocked and punished... df2 doesn't launch ducking opponents and virtually no advantage on hit to crouched opponents. (That's why nobody uses it) ZERO while standing launches. All other Kazama and Mishimas have those and mid launches from standing plus ff2 free usage and hell sweeps that knock down. If Reina launches you, she earned it. Her game is standing and poking with good 50/50 but high risk and medium reward for most options. Leave my Reina alone 😂
@@marquisbean1752 You can Sidestep Kazuya's and Devil Jin's Demon Paw easily. Jin's Demon Paw can be beat by Single Sidestep Right but it's VERY hard. Reina's FF2 can be beat by Single Sidestep Right and it's even HARDER. Not only that, DJ, Kazuya, and Jin's Demon Paw lose to Keepout pretty consistently whereas Reina's jousting range seems to favour her Hurtboxes over those of her adversary's and she'll more commonly just win the situation. Not only that, but Reina gets the choice of going into Stance. She doesn't have to, you're not forced. None of the other 3 get Stance options. Single Jab gets beat by the Low and Down Jab gets beat by the Mid. So even if you want to say she can get beat by certain options, she can choose to Counter which one she wants, but has to commit. And she can just present it, see the enemy habit, win Neutral for free again, and then challenge what the opponent chose previously with Sentai. It's VERY good. I'm not even saying it needs a Nerf. I'm just saying sometimes people who Main Characters have biased judgement about the power of their tools even if they aren't doing so maliciously or with ill-intent.
@kylefields3951 once again there is nothing inherently special about her ff 2. You list her options afterward as if the opponent also doesn't read her choices to counter it. If ff2 did chip damage then it would be a problem but it doesn't prevent the opponent from countering the follow at all. Not going into stance after ff2 is NOT easy and even if it were there is no advantage given. All of her stance transitions are interuptable except after a heat smash. She gets nothing free. Simply block punish is the only thing you have to do against Reina. She's straightforward. She wants to bait you into mashing and guessing during stance transition but it's all mental. If you are not afraid of her, just throw the down jab between her stances. I've played matches where I couldn't use ff2 at all because I kept getting jabbed out of it. She's fun to play and she is good but she struggles against turtles 🐢
Knee’s reflex is not good as it used to be if you watch his old Tekken vids. We can never lie about aging. Daigo is the same for SF. Is what it is for age sport especially video games where muscle reflex is in high demands.
