This was so much fun. Really nice to see a group of witty, smart and talented individuals with a great deal of respect for either side just having a nice time!
I have been looking forward to this one from the moment I heard it was going to happen. It didn't disappoint. The Herring on Fish podcast is also very good.
36:16 When I see that ad I always think "if I could make a copy of a car for free, and it wouldn't damage the existing car, of course I'd make a copy of it".
I like RHLSTP and I also like NSTAAF... but which is better? There's only one way to find out. FIGHT! Or collaborate. Seriously I'm a huge fan of both podcasts and so this was just great to see!
I love that Rich proves that even though stating a fact isn't funny, and talking about it is, but talking about talking about it isn't - talking about talking about talking about it is funny again. A professional at work! 50:37
Surely the true Herring thing to do would be to talk about talking about the fact (which isn't funny, as we've established) over and over and over again, for months and months on end (possibly in it's own stand-alone podcast series) until the repetition itself becomes the thing that is funny?
Most dogs (and some cats) understand pointing as long as you do it as if you're throwing something (i.e., if they see the arm extend). If you just slowly move your finger, or if you hold your arm still, they tend to ignore it and look at your face instead.
Richard Herring is as English as a Humbug (not sure about the taste), I normally find it strangely comforting to see him in his stripey jumper at the start... but what does this football shirt mean? What do I have to do to reinstate the stripes?... I feel quite ill-at-ease. What next, wearing knock-off trainers and drinking alcopops behind the bottle-bank? I hope this isn't the first sign of Boris's Broken Brexit Britain.
I much prefer the one guest format. I wish Richard E Grant and his ‘people’ had given permission for that podcast to be released, as I have a feeling that would have been a classic from this series. Very envious of those who were actually there for that one.
I was there, no idea why they wouldn't let it be released, he didn't say anything dodgy from my recollection. Rich teased him about not being able to talk about Star Wars but he didn't reveal anything.
Babies don't "train" how to say "mama", that's nonsensical; they have no concept of words. "Mama" is just the basic sound we all make if we exhale while opening and closing our mouths (and once you learn to build up pressure behind your lips and tongue, you go "dada", "papa", "tata", etc.). It was parents that appropriated those sounds as referring to them. That's why "mama" is the same in pretty much every language. Someone needs to give Dan a copy of "Studies on Child Language and Aphasia" by Roman Jakobson

I live in Hong Kong. My mate is called Dan. Everyone calls him Dan Dan. It's a thing - or hangs below a thing!

Just found this, and what I REALLY can't believe is that Dan and James are drinking Budweiser! Really takes them down a notch...
Saying it like a Southern Baptist Preacher doesn't make it true, Rich 😂👍
Jolly good fun as usual ☺
1:20:22 I assume Andrew had to slink back on stage after they'd all left to collect his jacket that he'd left on his chair?
This is the best crossover ever.
This was brilliant!
Happy birthday Rich! I'm coming to York Fringe, promise xx
Everyone: "Avengers Endgame is the most ambitious crossover event in history!"
NSTAAFRHLSTP: "hold my emergency factbook!"
Best episode ever
What was so bad about the "Kim Jong Herring" quip?
An interview with Basil Brush would be f*cking brilliant
Ooh yes, Mr Herring!
Ham hand, suncream or whale fart escape? Probably it would depend on context at time of asking
1:12:00 happy birthday to Dan's 18 month year old son
Anna's point about quizzes and people does ring true...............
The fact that the music for the "wouldn't download a bear" _wasn't_ pirated makes me doubt their research team.

@@aaatomizer Was it a good one, aside from him being a movie star and that?
@@spanglegranny pretty funny yeah. He got schooled by Andy McH on when and what exactly he did in Dr. Who.
@@aaatomizer Ha! Go Andy!
Damn shame he pulled it. No-one needs to be that touchy...

15th! Podcast podcast!
Great one!
its a shame anna doesn't have a Twitter
Magnificent!
That york kit/glasses/grey hair combo in the beginning is a good outfit for him. He looks like an obese Richard Gere from Yorkshire.
I'll see you on that Monday you said you'd be there at that thing on a Monday.
This actually meant I got two episodes of my favourite podcast last week! (it's not RHLSTP, #sorrynotsorry)
44:00 What is said that people react to so strongly? It seems like someone said something controversial but I can't see what.
Claiming invisibility as a sexual superpower is more than slightly creepy!
He was just listing generic super-powers and not thinking fully about the context.
Happy Birthday
I know it shouldnt, but it really bothers me that shes never seen an x-men movie.
Nether have I, but then you probably don't give a shit what I have or haven't seen.
Kashoo nuts...
50:33 wtf is a cuddle fish?
It's related to a Hugfish
it's the Aussie accent. He said Cuttlefish.
@@DogOfKrondor errrr... thanks for clearing that up.

I have no idea, but he is rude and boring.
