Beautiful Noise- love the song! The first time I saw Neil Daimond's photo, was in 1971 on his long play album's cover: Hot August Night. My mom loved to listen his music and she showed me, she got his album - as a 10 year old, I open my childlike mouth and say: "What a ugly looking man!" BUT, as I become a grown up woman, Neil Daimond turned out to be a handsome man! Well, I am 63 and still think he is handsome! I love his music!
My mom loved Neil....as I do...had no choice...lol. The morning I got the call...jumped into the car and this played... arrived...I was there for approximately 21/2 hours before she passed.... I played Neil all that time...and she passed to this song! It shall always have a special place in my ❤️
As so manh people who have been involved in the musjc world will be aware that writing a song that shows heartfelt feelings, is hard to do, far start the music must fit the feelings of the world. Its a good sign when you can remember so many songs and the words in them, more than anything else it a question of the two fitting together that makes it a hit record. I think it was Niel himsellf that sad as he told it that he was told if you want to write a good song then look back at your own life at what is in there, there has never been a more truecstatemet ever, its the things we haveba heartfelf feeling for that are entertaining. This is what i think makes the late great Niel Diamond one to the few true greats, who i find always inspires others to put pen to paper and write a hit song. Niel was lucky, he had both the talent and the insight to put the right words down, they came from his life, this song being one of the greatest beause the song paints a picture we can all see in somewhere being pat of our own lives, and believe me these are the memory of those years. Because of their connection to real life the will always be a reminder, and the spark of reality thag is involved with them. Truely a great artist and story teller, his songs will always be part of life regardless af the date because tnis is life for so many. I annot recall just how many of the songs i sing or use to sing that come from this deep collection of experience, many ask how do you remember so mang songs and the music, i can only say that tberes a bit of my life involved in tbere somewhere,, but more that anything else is the sound ofbthis great man and his vojce singing them that captivates sound of every note and every word. Looking back, after seventy nind years, even i find it remarkable how quickly they come to mind along with the words, and its the original artist that make this happen, all i can say is that its a gift as is the music, thanks Niel for being part of that collection of songs that paint such a vivid picturs in our lives, may they last for ever.
I lost count of how many times I went to see this magical performer as a young girl and woman. He never disappointed! One of the greatest song writer's and singer. This music never goes out of style!
I, too, have seen him several times, and every time he puts everybody in the audience from age 8-80 right in the palm of his hand and takes them for a beautiful ride.

I used to work for a Magnavox dealer. Went to technical training on troubleshooting their stereo equipment. They used Neil Diamond’s music for their full-range demos ! Made quite the impression on this rookie technician ! Have loved his music ever since !
On one of his albums,Neil does a few snippets with his two young daughters. He called them his back up singers…they called him Dadfy Diamond. In their upper floor New York apartment,his daughter listened to the street noise through the open window. She said,Sm’t that a beautiful noise? Love it!
