People accustomed to pole dancing being an exploitative, objectifying art form do not realise how truly difficult this that's here presented is technically complex and demanding. Her form is superb
I don't know anything about pole dancing. But I can see how high she grabs the pole, and the strength - core strength et al, that Twigs has, is phenomenal - and so controlled. Love her videos. In her 'studio' video for 'Cellophane', you can see how 'ripped' she is. If not seen already, would urge people to give her performances on "later with Jools Holland" a look too - and see her with a sword. She is *so* talented, in so many ways. A 2020's (and earlier!) visual storyteller & singer, with the influences of Kate Bush & Bjork, *so* updated, and accessible to all..

Wow, I never heard of this artist before - I kinda live under a rock. I discovered her by accident because this song ended a TV show I was watching, and the voice and message were so raw in it, I had to search it on RUclips to hear more. Wow, what an artist - performance, voice, lyrics, blew me away! Took me by surprise. She's a poet - truly different than anything I've seen before. Now the question is, why haven't I heard of her before?? And that's what amazed me. She's all in!! This isn't usually my genre, but good is good and you know it when you hear it no matter what genre you're comfortable with. She stands apart - spellbinding and enigmatic. There's only two kinds of music anyway - good and bad. She's a poet. She touches the soul. She got my attention and I usually live under a rock when it comes to the latest thing. Mesmerizing. Deserves more recognition. I guess because she's a true artist that doesn't need a PR agent to promote her. She's not that crass. She just loses herself in her music and let's her music do the talking and that's enough for her. How refreshing in this day and age when what you are speaks so loudly, you can't hear what anyone is saying anymore - all surface no depth. My hat's off to you girl! And yes, that stage is to small to contain you! Deserves a bigger venue, but she's a take-what-you- can-get girl - because she can take whatever she can get and make art out of it. Reminds me of those artists who will take bottle caps or zippers and make art out of them. They'll take a common object that most people throw out and make you see it in a whole new way. An artist. One thing I have to say, she is amazing and how she has shown that pole dancing isn’t just a sexual dance it’s something that is beautiful and can convey a lot of emotion...
How did this video not go viral? The song alone should've done it... her vocals are sad and haunting yet stunning beautiful. Then she takes pole-dancing, which some consider lowbrow, and turns it into art. She is a true artist.
Here after the Grammys, have to say I’m incredibly disappointed in the Grammys for not letting this ethereal goddess perform at least one of her songs and instead making her dance backup to Usher doing a mediocre tribute to Prince
this never fails to make me sob n effing cry ugly especially after a long exhausting day of trying to distract yourself from everything that's stressing you out then you come home and play this. . it gives this strange comforting feeling despite how gut wrenchingly painful it is to listen to cellophane but it can never change how beautiful it sounds
Proof that the best doesn't necessarily win. Her video was literally the best option. His was more popular but nothing that year came close to Cellophane
This by far is the best musical performance I have seen on any talk shows and I'm 54. She is stunning and her talent is amazing. I can't understand such few likes. People should have to pay for this type of performance. She made this looks absolutely effortless. Every time I hear this song it makes me want to cry. I know who she wrote this for & he didn't even deserve someone like her with this much talent, beauty, grace, and quite obviously love she had for him imho. This musical arrangement is so beautiful as well and I performed classical music for over 6 years.
Weird, because Twigs did a podcast this year where she says fans jump to a lot of the wrong conclusions. Twigs was attacked by Kristen Stewart fans, not Rob's fans. His ex has crazy fans who attack any woman he gets near, even his co-stars who he's never dated. There is no beef between Rob and Twigs. Rob says, "I''m on good terms with all my exes," and Twigs did a podcast with Julia Fox this year, 2023, where she said Rob is a sweet person and also Cellophane isn't about him. She said fans jump to a lot of wrong conclusions. Her words.
Goosebumps. So beautiful. This should have been a Grammy performance. This has so much emotion and pain behind it. I can hear it and wish people would just leave her alone 😔
She's been massive among the underground in the UK for a while. Her and that tosser from Twilight were together for quite a while. It would be pretty sweet for her to get some more worldwide recognition.
Her marketing has been ineffective and quite messy. For example, some people are confused as to why the album was postponed and this is the first live performance to promote her music. She's extremely talented and her music is so great and I want her to gain the recognition she deserves but she needs better management and marketing
That was mesmerising. Her voice is hypnotic. I never thought pole dancing could be so intimate and melancholy but wow...that was something truly special.
As much as I love Lana Del Rey, it kinda annoys me that her little clunky "pole dance" on Coachella is so praised and going viral while everybody is sleeping on FKA Twigs for years. She deserves so much more recognition for her beautiful perfomances
fka twigs is a performance artist. she didn't have to do the pole sequence but she did it's the most beautiful form of surrender . authenticity and beauty in Magdalene that only few people can recognize.... hope she doesn't blow up like the weeknd
That part! When he was doing THE KNOWING and ECHOES OF SILENCE. the House of balloons album. And Thursday. 🤯 But yeah FKA Twigs is breathtaking. Puts people in Awe
This isn't talent. This is pure dedication, work, effort, breathing, creating, imagining, overcoming pain and frustration, and doing it all over again when others wouldn't until it's perfect. Bravo miúda! És do crl!
Mesmerising... even after so many years.. Mesmerising. Every note, every movement. This is a masterpiece of emotion. Of love from the beginning, why we don't feel enough, to the deeps of despair, how our deepest of love still isn't enough when we've given it our all.. it's how I feel at the end of my marriag e.. .

I'm not going to lie I didn't know who she was until she dates Robert Pattinson & Shia Lebeouf
I thought that was cool, he just wanted to leave her in awe on her piano world. Very respectful 🙏🏽💞
Years later, this remains among the best live performances on Fallon (imo #1 standalone performance on any late night show ever [and yes I've watched them all]).
Genuine talent and authenticity. Great to see true artists like her in commercial programs like Fallon
She did that,
And after she did that,
She did a little bit of THAT!
THAT is what we witnessed.
Love her music
YAAASS
If a painting sounded like this, I would watch it dry for a million years.
flippeditude what a beautiful comment
That’s a dumb analogy
Thomaharadja h8terz everywhere i swear
@@thomaharadja5307 And yet it works
flippeditude it really does not
It is a clumsy assortment of words
And the only meaning that could be derived from it is not flattering
One thing I have to say, she is amazing and how she has shown that pole dancing isn’t just a sexual dance it’s something that is beautiful and can convey a lot of emotion...
if Robert Pattinson wouldn’t have broken her heart we wouldn’t have gotten this banger
Maddy Y
Hmm....you could be right
Why did he dump her. I heard his family didn't like her. His loss.
loretta young where did you hear that
she has shia, i think she's doing just fine.
How did this video not go viral? The song alone should've done it... her vocals are sad and haunting yet stunning beautiful.
Then she takes pole-dancing, which some consider lowbrow, and turns it into art. She is a true artist.
If this is what she does for Jimmy Fallon I can’t even imagine the incredible performances she has planned for the Grammys
I thought she was moving in slow motion for a moment. No, she's just that fluid. ♥️
fka twigs? more like i lost my wigs
RIP wigs
This comment is gold. Bless you. 👏🏻
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂 i cant
HAHAHA OMG
Grammys: and the award goes to Lil Nas X
FKA twigs: why don't I do it for you?
No disrespect to Lil Nas X but the Cellophane music video is literal art. How it lost baffles my mind.
Proof that the best doesn't necessarily win. Her video was literally the best option. His was more popular but nothing that year came close to Cellophane
@Tony Mx truee the Grammys means nothing nowadays
oof this didn't age well after montero
It sucks that people influenced by greater more thriving people get the awards instead of the actual influencers.
Her words.
This has become part of my morning routine: wake up, make tea, watch the Fallon performance, get dressed, go to work. And I'm very okay with this.
she was in her ZONE. simply mesmirizing. I don't think ANYONE has every pole danced on Fallon before and she made it look so easy. incredible.
this video just called told me that i’m enough in 12 different languages
Goosebumps. So beautiful. This should have been a Grammy performance. This has so much emotion and pain behind it. I can hear it and wish people would just leave her alone 😔
Dude this is really powerful I hope she breaks through
Bob Juarez what for?
She's been massive among the underground in the UK for a while. Her and that tosser from Twilight were together for quite a while. It would be pretty sweet for her to get some more worldwide recognition.
she’s already super successful lol she’s just not gonna be a radio hits girl
Her marketing has been ineffective and quite messy. For example, some people are confused as to why the album was postponed and this is the first live performance to promote her music. She's extremely talented and her music is so great and I want her to gain the recognition she deserves but she needs better management and marketing
Jose A so many British artists need way better management and marketing tbh
this is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen
That was mesmerising. Her voice is hypnotic. I never thought pole dancing could be so intimate and melancholy but wow...that was something truly special.
Me hearing this song in a tiktok about borzois in a miss piggy voice 🐷
Me hearing the actual song: 🤯
kermiiii
tiktok ruins everything wtf
i honest to god just had a religious experience
c b honestly this is how I feel when I listen to a lot of music. I genuinely feel like I got saved lmao
AMEN!
amen sista
yup i’m buying the record. this is one of the most beautiful performances i have ever seen in my enitre life...
Just mesmerizing
You're going to love her discography and visuals so much.
Damn dawg. U late to the party.
But welcome to the party. 🤗

@@Project199x hahaha
I first discovered her with her song Two Weeks few years ago. It's one of my favorites!
As much as I love Lana Del Rey, it kinda annoys me that her little clunky "pole dance" on Coachella is so praised and going viral while everybody is sleeping on FKA Twigs for years. She deserves so much more recognition for her beautiful perfomances
She made poled dancing look like a masterpiece
It IS a masterpiece!
@@angiejare fax
it is, its not just stripping it’s a sport
Its art
Made me feel like visit a strip club and play moonlight Sonata
i’ve never seen anything this incredible on a talk show holy shit
I love how she can make any stage, her theater.
Who knew that silly little viral meme was actually this beautiful masterpiece.
fka twigs is a performance artist. she didn't have to do the pole sequence but she did it's the most beautiful form of surrender . authenticity and beauty in Magdalene that only few people can recognize.... hope she doesn't blow up like the weeknd
Right! Weeknd sure turned his music into pop garbage when he got big, didn't he?
@@ceIIardoor no. Ive always liked him and always will
i hope she does! she deserves to be heard, and her art deserves to be seen. if we truly love her and her creations, we can wish her only the best
That part! When he was doing THE KNOWING and ECHOES OF SILENCE. the House of balloons album. And Thursday. 🤯
But yeah FKA Twigs is breathtaking. Puts people in Awe
as i remember her when she released lp1
she got stronger, love her forever
I feel like she’s going to become very big and i rather she doesn’t but she deserves all the success she’s pure talent
I don't think she will tho. She's too artistic for the masses. Tbh. And she needs to be protected from the idiots that are in those masses.
tony m oh my goodness. I was just thinking the same thing.
I mean, she's pretty big in the UK.
alissandra333 yea but I feel like UK is more open minded with their music I could be wrong though cause I’m not from there.
alissandra333 she’s not big in the UK at all. Most people who recognise her know her as Robert pattinson’s ex fiancé
SHE WAS SNUBBED AT THE GRAMMYS. I CAN'T.
That was amazing. Nothing is half done, all of the parts - the pole dance, the performance, the singing - were delivered 100%. Just thrilling!
Mackenzie Harper really? I thought everything was above great
@Mackenzie Harper are you a Twilight fan? Jw.
Mackenzie Harper probably. I wish I had your level of taste, Miss Mackenzie Harper
fka twigs: dances on a pole
me: *cries*
It hits you
Same same
😂😂😂 same
This isn't talent.
This is pure dedication, work, effort, breathing, creating, imagining, overcoming pain and frustration, and doing it all over again when others wouldn't until it's perfect.
Bravo miúda! És do crl!
the last lyrics. "im not enough" please stop this is masterpiece tahliah is a masterpiece it self 😭😭 im a new fan!
Her performances are even better in person.
Facts.!!
Miguel Kelly I don’t know why I read this as “her performances are even better in prison”
The crowd was absolutely silent did you hear it
This song breaks my damn heart. Why does she have to punch me directly in the feels?
after 200 times listening to it i still wanna cry every time
Because that what great artists do!
1:45: No one should be this good, i could not believe what i was hearing. Unreal talent.
The goosebumps I got when I saw her heading towards the pole, the power this performance has the cello was beautiful
She’s such a boss for putting on a performance the way she did
I mean what other female artist could pull that off? Madonna? Beyonce? Nikki Minaj? Taylor Swift? No. She's one of a kind.
this performance transcends the tonight show. nobody was worthy enough for that
Is it possible to feel your soul hurt when you watch and hear this? Like really hurt
Everything she does is beautiful and profound. This moved me to my core and tears fell from my eyes.
beautiful 😭❤️
would also like to shout out that my friend kelly is playing the piano 😭
So cool! I caught her set at End of the Road festival, she was amazing!
tell her she was amazing
Rory awesome!
She is phenomenal
Kelly Moran! Ultraviolet! Go listen to it people!!!
this made me tear up a little
Mesmerising... even after so many years.. Mesmerising. Every note, every movement. This is a masterpiece of emotion. Of love from the beginning, why we don't feel enough, to the deeps of despair, how our deepest of love still isn't enough when we've given it our all.. it's how I feel at the end of my marriag
e..
.
This SHOULD be performed at Grammy's!
That's it's
The Grammys is a joke. They don’t deserve lol
@@MAXIMILIAN390 so true

This is award winning. This is legendary. This is so beautiful like Jimmy gets blessed with too much greatness sometimes on his show (think Ariana grandes Imagine performance) but this is definitely all time BEST
How am I only just seeing this performance of her now, that was unbelievable. Such talent and creativity. Amazing!
