- Tiffany Henyard, the polarizing mayor of south suburban Dolton, appointed new village staff members Tuesday night, despite the village board of trustees trying to cancel the meeting where the appointments took place.
WGN's Jenna Barnes reports on the story.
The real crime here is that the state hasn't stepped in yet to help the village, and this pitiful excuse for a mayor who has clearly run this village into a financial hole, but who refuses to take any responsibility for her actions and consistently blames others. She is a threat to democracy, and she is being allowed by the state to continue to create more problems for the people of the village of Dolton, as well as the township. Shame on the governor, and the states attorney. Based on that Lightfoot report under her administration the village went from a surplus of 5.5 million dollars to being in the hole 3.5 million and no answers from her administration on where that 9 million dollars went.
The states billionaire governor was too busy at the dnc sitting next to Hilary Clinton! He doesn’t have time actually uphold laws in his state!

She still has to get approval from the trustees at a board meeting to vote for the appoint new village administrator.
These newly appointed employees ain't getting paid then. Meeting has to have more than half the administration in order to be official. That's why they were able to approve the investigation into the allezations of her spending money and holding approved checks for bills.

Wth is the Governor???
We're talking about a woman who appointed a guy who, by court order, was not legally allowed to carry a gun and was to be supervised wherever he went in the building (because the court deemed him to be a violent threat) to Chief of Police. The state had to terminate his Police license in order to get him out of the building, if not charged and arrested (by court order) for impersonating an officer. Yea, I think she'd do that. She needs a Dolton fall guy to sign the checks.

The board explained that she couldn't fire freeman and hire Lacey as PD chief until the board voted for or against. Her damn attorney lists all the "illegal" moves the board has made, yet her she violated law not once but twice.
And maybe Freeman is guilty of making the credit card charges and writing checks, but I bet he was ORDERED by tiff tiff. Well what about the checks they uncovered with just HER signature? Checks that were to LEGALLY have TWO signatures, INCLUDING the clerk's.
Why did she throw a fit when the board handed out new, ASSIGNED credit cards, including HER, to track everyone's spending? She thinks nothing can be traced back to her if her signature doesn't appear.
I can't believe that attorney believes she's innocent of everything.
Tiffany & her criminal lawyer are trying to play the 'blame game'. For example the failure to submit proper financial reports because many of the 'receipts' are still missing & unaccounted for means that they have been besieged by FOIA requests demanding to see the various receipts & statements. We all know that Tiffany has threatened the Dept Heads NOT to comply and withhold providing the FOIA documents so what does she do? Fires the FOIA Clerk & claiming that she is NOT doing her job. Its laughable when everyone can see the one person who is NOT doing their job is the Mayor who spends money with reckless abandon without accountability or transparency in violation of her fiduciary duty & stewardship obligations.
There also lots of things you “have” to do, she clearly doesn’t respect any of that. The state should be ashamed of themselves, politics over their own people.

This all started in Dolton when they elected Shaw as Mayor! First thing he did was appoint his brother as "assistant Mayor"? Dolton never ever had nor needed a assistant Mayor?
