What about the UFL? I know you are injured & maybe it’s different from the NFL but shouldn’t you be with your team on the sideline on game day at least? No disrespect meant by that I was just wondering. Are you still technically on the team?

It depends on the terms of his contract and team policies. Since he is not allowed to play for the rest of the season due to injury, it could be more feasible for him to continue rehab at his primary residence than to stay at a hotel and receive care from the team's medical facilities. Since this is the UFL, they might not have the infrastructure to support his recovery any better than his PCP could. They are a new league and wouldn't have the financing yet. Plus, these players do not have the support of a union to ensure that injured players receive medical care from the team in the player's best interest and the team. So, De La Haye could have a future contract agreement pending a passed physical next season; therefore, he's insured and receives a partial salary, if any, while he recovers. Which does not make him obligated to be involved with the team right now.
