Jesus the delivery of "but coraline doesn't wanna eat, no - coraline would rather disappear" and the "coraline wants the sea but is afraid of water" lines makes me shiver
The first part you mentioned describes an eating disorder. That specific part of Coraline was based on the lead singer's past ED (he was 16, so like 6 years ago) that he has since recovered from. That is probably where the delivery came from.
Did not expect this one to hit so hard, their lyrics are unreal (also maybe unpopular opinion, but other than "I wanna be your slave" no other english songs of theirs bring up the same emotions as their Italian ones, and actually seeing the meaning now - they're all pure poetry, hope they keep writing in Italian as they gain more international fans!)
You are not being unpopular because I concur and suspect many others do too. Their English songs are very good but for me personally they are radio friendly and have a kind of sound you could easily lose amongst a lot of similar sounds, no doubt far more radio/chart friendly though. That said the Italian songs are very different they are emotional, you feel them without even knowing what they are saying, they just hit harder. Thinking about it, that’s exactly the difference between the two, you hear the English songs and by that I mean you basically only really hear a tune with little connection whereas with the Italian ones you feel them, they kind of stick with you, songs you feel are the songs that tend to stand the test of time. Of course it's not black and white with their English/Italian songs in terms of hearing the English ones and feeling the Italian ones because one or two of the English songs can also be felt and one or two of the Italian ones heard. That said and in my opinion of course I mostly hear their English songs and mostly feel their Italian songs.
Honestly I went to check out I wanna be your slave after you mentioned it and I found it very mediocre. Nowhere near the level of Coralie in my opinion and they really should stick to their Italian origins as it's clearly what they are most confortable with (generally speaking, not that they speak English incorrectly pronouncing of the language is clearly good enough)

There's so much depth and maturity in this song it's hard to believe someone so young wrote it. My favorite part is the one about people not understanding why she can't just pack her things and go. It's something victims of domestic abuse hear all the time. I guess you can't really get it if you're not one but this song explains it pretty well.

This song makes me Think about one of my best freinds who is dealing with an eating disorder and depression Thank you for translating it so I could understand it
This is a very good translation, not perfect because it does have some tiny errors but they are really insignificant. When I say not perfect it’s more because when reading translated Italian lyrics to English, it doesn’t quite carry the same weight, you have to use your imagination a little and interpret some of the words, some of it is just not translatable in that while the words are they are interpreted differently so some meaning is lost. It’s no doubt the case with a lot of languages but it definitely is with Italian which is quite a poetic language were the words often mean more in Italian than what their face value say they mean in English. So in this case and for the English speaking community, don’t just read the words here, you kind of almost have to read between the lines and interpret some of what is being said rather than what is actually being said via the translation.
1:34 until 2:21 describe what i feel/what situation im in rn better than i could ever! I have never related to anything thos much, this song is truly a poetic master piece
Yesterday Maneskin performed this song on national television in Italy. After the performance Damiano started crying (like me lol). Today he thanked several people who were somehow involved in the making of the song. Among them, he thanked Giorgia, his girlfriend. So, she is 'his' Coraline. Idk if you know about Giorgia, she is an activist and feminist. She has explained several times that she has been in pain since forever, and that pain severely affected her life. Recently, she has been finally rightly diagnosed, and that is why she started talking about her diseases and the path to finally giving them a name. She is a very strong young woman :')
BINGO!!! Someone has it right! Giorgia is Damiano's MUSE for Coraline and he also tattooed "Coraline" on her upper arm himself. They have a powerful love and I hope they stay together.
It hurts me so much listening to this song because it reminds me of who i was before. A little kid searching for pure love and kindness in this cruel world. All i wanted was to make everyone happy so i forgot about my own happiness. I always listened to other people's opinions. I thought i had to change myself in order for people to like me. I had done so many sacrifices just to keep people in my life. I was afraid of being alone. After all this emotional damage I became numb and unable to communicate properly with other people. I was afraid of being rejected or thought as weird. And I felt that way until now. This morning I woke up and I realised none of this was my fault. I did my best but it didn't work out. And its fine. I can't make everyone love me. But I can love me. I realized i deserve happiness and true love. I really believed i was the worst person ever. I thought I owe apologies to so many people for who i was. But the only person i owe an apology is myself. I hurted myself more than anyone else ever did. Only because I believed them when they said all this horrible things to me and made me believe I am the problem. All the "bad" things I did was because of trauma. I should stop blaming myself. What I know now is that I always had pure intentions to anyone. And i will always have. So I'm hoping I will find the courage to heal. And for everyone reading this i just want to say: Everything will work. You're not a failure. You're not a fool. You're not the opinion of someone who doesn't know you and who doesn't know what you've been through. You'll heal. You'll be happy again. Just give yourself time.

When I was starting to recover I got into a very abusive relationship which drove me back into the disease at 21."But Coraline doesn't want to eat No Coraline would rather disappear." Yes. And the inner struggles is the raging river. The symbolism is uncanny . Thank you Damiano. You are my knight. ⚔️🖤⚔️. Hugs🫂

This song expresses true love. Damiano is expressing his love for coraline. No matter what she's been, what kinda anxiety, depression she's going through. He's trying to convince her that life will get better. He wants to make her life better

🖤 2:30 until 3:19 is all i need to hear in my life now from someone,to make me feel alive again. 🖤
best part of this amazing song imho
You can feel it, it's indescribable.
Can you try to translate better the part where it talks about “swollen” river? I didn’t feel that word really described the meaning
@@naradovic6389 Raging river is a better description
@@dia6olo64 thanks a lot
1:34 until 2:21 describe what i feel/what situation im in rn better than i could ever! I have never related to anything thos much, this song is truly a poetic master piece
❤️
Man, this is such an intense, sad and good song. Maneskin earns more and more of my respect
They have a powerful love and I hope they stay together.
bruhhh i'm gonna cry
❤️
Are you Bulgarian? You are just like me.

@@mvrana869 I'm 18 now. And my 12 years at school were pretty shitty. I graduated this year and even when I stopped going to school I still felt depressed. But I'm trying to do my best to feel better and keep myself motivated. I'm trying to do the things I love more often. Also I stopped communicating with the people that maked me feel sad. And tbh I feel better now.
Without knowing the english translation I was just having fun, but now I'm sobbing 👍
I really need to learn Italian, so I can understand their wonderful lyrics. Their Italian songs are so much better!
Fuck. Im overly obsessed with the song. I thought at first that it was a break up song and the guy is reaching out but shit this was epic and so sad. Makes me want to hug and cry with coraline. This band is fucking superb in every way. Fuck i think im gonna cry more.
That last verse! Omg!
This is the most relatable song i am apart of the coralines life sucks people society suck but i believe we can be happy
Such a genius song! It's not a song, it's an emotion. We are all Coralines in some way or the other❤
😓😓. I've struggled with anorexia since I was 14. This song hits me. ⚔️🖤⚔️. Hugs🫂
this song and those lyrics hit so hard, it's pure poetry i adore it
I hope fame don’t change them
The whole song is a slap in the face but « Ha un padre che di padre ha niente » really hit me hard.
Dam I thought this was a break up song at 1st. I never thought I'd relate to the lyrics, it's making me cry, it's such a deep and beating song
Reading these lyrics these could be about me when i was young. i survived. :) i know who i am now. i have so much water in my chart, i have the sea, the river and the lake. but i am also a leo. being an empath is not easy, but you chose it before you were born, so you have the strength to overcome everything if you just know your own energy. and just like you chose this, other people chose that.
This song expresses true love. Damiano is expressing his love for coraline. No matter what she's been, what kinda anxiety, depression she's going through. He's trying to convince her that life will get better. He wants to make her life better
I am student of Italian teacher he always play this song in classroom
You’re lucky
Stan your Italian teacher
I wish I was his student
At least did you understand that Coraline rests in a cemetery?
Zitti e buoni < Coraline
Listen also 'vent'anni'
Zitti e buoni = Coraline
agreed!
Obviously
Yes
Gosh this is beautiful, was not expecting that at all. They are true artists with music
1:52 i interpreted "coraline doesnt want to eat, no" as metaphorical. shes had enough of swallowing the abuse, pain, trauma, etc. shed rather disappear than endure it any longer
This song will become a classic.
This song is just pure art. This got me crying every time i listen to it.
I discovered this song during a long bus ride while casually skipping through recommendations. Even without looking at the lyrics at the time, the song just HIT ME. I already figured out that it was a tragic love(?) song but now that I know the whole meaning it just made me so sad. I almost regret looking up the meaning now :') Thank you for your translation
Damiano writing this song: yes let me break everyone's hearts in as many pieces as possible
Thank you for having translate it for us 🤗❤️
thank you for watching! 🥰
that outro hits like a truck every time, it’s so sad
Yeah, I managed to keep myself together throughout the song. Then the outro hit and I'm a sniveling sobbing mess. I hope no customers calls for the next 5 minutes I need a moment to compose myself. Probably shouldn't have watched this at work.
oh god, I'm crying. this is beautiful
I only found out about Måneskin a few months ago when I saw Angelina Jolie with her daughter singing to their music. I literally never fell so fast in love. Caroline was my favorite song since the start even though I couldn't understand a word from it. Now I just found this video and this song will never be the same again. It fits so much in my life I believe Måneskin was meant to come into my life at the moment I'm suffering from a burnout. Thank you for this video ❤️
It's dedicated to his girlfriend who has been living with chronic pain for around 10 years.
She has the name of the song tattooed on her arm and after Sanremo performance Damiano issued a statement where he thanked her for making him write it.
I love this song so much, but I'm saddened by how much I relate to coraline.
Same it just hurts
Me too. 💔
maneskin is just pure art. i love their music so much and these are such beautiful lyrics it hits close. thanks sm for translating
Måneskin are telling my situation within less then five minutes .. thanks for understanding me
I might be random person, but are you okay?
I don’t speak Italian but love their Italian songs. I prefer them as they write about deeper topics & more poetically. They’re English songs are really good too but I’m a sucker for these kind of lyrics. Plus it helps me learn Italian
Man the lyrics break me everytime.. And I'm playing this on loop.. 😞

Ma dimmi le tue verità
Coraline, Coraline, dimmi le tue verità
Coraline, Coraline, dimmi le tue verità
Coraline, Coraline, dimmi le tue verità
Coraline Coraline
Coraline bella come il sole
Guerriera dal cuore zelante
Capelli come rose rosse
Preziosi quei fili di rame amore portali da me
Se senti campane cantare
Vedrai Coraline che piange
Che prende il dolore degli altri
E poi lo porta dentro lei
Coraline, Coraline, dimmi le tue verità
Coraline, Coraline, dimmi le tue verità
Coraline, Coraline, dimmi le tue verità
Coraline, Coraline
E Coraline piange
Coraline, Coraline
another Italian masterpiece. so proud✨
after reading the translation, i felt that i am Coraline :)
As Italian, this song is my favorite 🦋 it really hits deeper in Italian, but the translation is accurate❤️❤️
The lyrics are so beutiful and deep, it's amazing. This is one of my favourite songs now!
Anybody else got completely mind blown when first ‘got’ the lyrics?
The part that says coraline is caged by a monster who puts mines in her paths, I feel so sad.
My girlfriend sent me this after she broke up with me, I was oddly not super upset about it, I was quite chill, but then I listened to this and all the emotions just came and hit me and now I’m fricken on the verge of tears 😣
I was listening, enjoying the lyrics with tears and then when the song stopped there was a duolingo ad, like they knew i need it lol
Please everyone pray for me to get divorced from my toxic husband,
🧡
i wish you all the best in your life🥹
praying for you 🤍
Hoping for the best :( 🩵🩵
"Non è per tutti andare avanti con il cuore che è diviso in due metà"
"Not everyone can carry on with their heart split in two."
this sound is so touching I love it.
Omg this is so sad and powerful. It has such a deep meaning and it really probably hit some people hard like me.🥺🥺🥺
This lyrics is so deep, yet the melodies and performance of the Lines gives the perfect vibe to deliver this lyrics. All in all it’s just perfect
"E in cambio no chiedo niente" is my favorite line. I speak Spanish so I immediately knew what it meant but seeing the full translation and understanding what was said before... wow so powerful
Wow the Song is absolutely beautiful and now knowing the English translation it really hits different than before. Damiano really is special, a sensitive mature poet on one side and also a rebellious “bad boy” on the other side. They deserve all the fame and recognition they’re receiving right now.
This reminds me of another song called Evelyn, Evelyn (which is soooo moving - the two voices blend and argue like anxiety and depression talking to each other loudly while you're sitting in the middle like a helpless kid)
Where can I find this song? What's the Artist's name?
@@Hotfreak-d6e The artist name is Evelyn, Evelyn. You can find it on RUclips, Spotify, I-tunes?
this song is talking with my soul. and Damino's voice magnificent for this song
the lyrics of all their songs are so meaningful and smart and just perfect
Damiano's lyrics are amazing. This song made me cry to hear him sing live. I didn't even know the words. For some reason I just hadn't looked this one up to translate. He's brilliant. Thanks for the translation, it's good to know ❤
Okay can we talk about how sad this song is? I LOVE ITTT!!!! CAN I JUST HEAR THIS FOREVER? :D
Holy shit I've been listening for this for a month and a half without knowing the meaning now I am ugly crying in the middle of the night
I've had this song on repeat for three weeks.
I felt that. The song had me in tears until it ended
Perfection in the Italian language! 🌹
