You get better at it as you unlock more starting characters and understand their combos, and how to explore in a way that keeps your stuff defensible. You want to start with a strong defender to leave in a choke point, and a quick runner to explore and carry the crystal. You open doors and run back to defend in the choke point room. With time you'll supplement the heroes with turrets. You want to make kill zones, basically. At some point you also will want an operator to put on the resource you need most, ideally inside the choke point room. Initially you want to defend only one side, but after you get more heroes amd turrets, you can open a second route. Never have more than that, and never open the doors in a way that monsters mass up. After a while, focus on slow and AOE in the kill room. The last 2 floors or so, just rush the end, because suicide monsters, or masses of giants with clubs, will ruin your day. Eventually you'll figure it out. Ah, if you can find a dust box to smuggle it from one floor to another, get it, it's insanely good.
I love this series. All the games in it are amazing, and the lore behind them is both original and interesting. Hope the sequel to this one has an appearance from the Umbral Choir.
Got this for free on steam in anticipation for Endless Dungeon. I played it before and didn’t quite grasp the gameplay enough to hook me in, but I may have not given it enough of a chance. Since I have a freebie I’ll take advantage and try it again. Recently played Iron Brigade which kinda sparked my enjoyment for tower defense game hybrids with other genres.
Sadly my last run encountered a crash at like floor 12. Ended up breaking the save, no mods or anything. I used to really like the game, but dont think I've won idk maybe once. Sad to see a game breaking bug for a completed game.
A second one is in development to release in 2 months, and I was able to play one of the betas if you even vaguely liked this one, second one gets *so much better*. Amazing games, i just wish i had the friends to play it with
No, you just don't like it. It is not terrible. It is objectively a really good game. I hate Dark Souls and the like, but I don't think they are bad games.
Yea this is a super popular game not play as much due to it being older but it’s objectively a well done soild game. You may not like that it’s hard but that doesn’t make it terrible 😂
@@TheXxemarosaxx Unfortunately I didn't write a review listing why I hated it, so I don't remember why I did; but it had nothing to do with difficulty. Again, I would strongly disagree with that 'objectively'.

This is one of my favorite turn based strategy, sorta roguelike games.
Just a quick tip for you wander. You can leave a hero in an unpowered room to stop enemies from spawning there
Huh, I didn't know that!
Oldie but goodie, a solid time-killer for restless nights (along with Organ Trail. Love that silly game to bits). The pixel-art is gorgeous.
I'm gonna lean on the "Game is Really Hard" side Wander. Cause like, This game is MERCILESS
oh yeah it goes crazy.
Agree. Neglecting one thing will cost the run. It is so brutal but I refuse to give up
Oh man I played soo much of this game I’m hyped for endless dungeon released in October

I've owned this game for years and have never beaten a run. I refuse to turn it down to easy.
sega still hitting it after all the years of doubt and struggle. get this game.
Been playing this one for a while now. Pretty hard and can get a bit boring after a while, but I still highly recommend it.

YES! I love this game, even if I don't play it too often.
The soundtrack goes hard
Such a shame that the game never got patched to actually run on PS5.

Excited for the new version ?
Old classic. New one is coming in October I guess. Pre-ordered already.
It's only one day after this video and it's no longer free. Bummer, looked like it could be fun.
Old classic :)
Haven't the devs re-re-re-released this game like 4 times?

@@TheXxemarosaxx it ate my life for a week in beta
Endless dungeon is online only so, be mindfull of that
can you cover the new one, endless dungeons, early beta reviews were not great, wondering if they ever improved
I loved the beta tests personally. My most recent video on it was a ton of fun to record.
Im new to the channel
Welcome!
The game isn't free for me; I'm in Canada btw maybe that has something to do with it
Unfortunately the free giveaway ended earlier today. I was too slow. =(
Absolutely cannot stand this game, it's terrible.

@@Kabumpin It's terrible in my opinion.
I would very definitely argue on the objectively point.
