Dalit is not caste its the voice of painful people.. Almost 90% of dalits dont want caste..They want equality.. Still we are in the stage where we struggle to tell our caste in public. It is actually there in cities in different form and yes it is less aggressive on individuals, but non existance is actually daydream . Do you remember Cheri, Slums lies on outskirts of each so called big cities. Finally, Reservation cannot be implemented geographical basis, do you able to realize practical problems in implementing those ideas. Isn't it refreshing to hear new perspectives on how cinema affects a small village and the village residents? I don't understand how anyone can be against diversity given it gives us gems like Mari Selvaraj. Pariyerum Perumal is so powerful. I haven't been able to watch beyond intermission. I will someday but this guy is brilliant and I am glad I live in a time where he is allowed to have a platform with good budget and he was able to tell his story so well. I live in blessed times and can't wait for more voices to make movies. Especially from underrepresented genders, classes and communities.

Didn't realize that 90 minutes went by me. I believe one can have a food for thought discussion with mari selvaraj for several days long. The important skill mari selvaraj has developed is his clarity of thoughts and asking the correct questions at the right moments and self introspecting a lot. I'm happy to hear him share his gem of thoughts in these interviews. I watched karnan day before yesterday and it proves that mari selvaraj will hold an important place in the future of cinema. Didn't realize that 90 minutes went by me. I believe one can have a food for thought discussion with mari selvaraj for several days long. The important skill mari selvaraj has developed is his clarity of thoughts and asking the correct questions at the right moments and self introspecting a lot. I'm happy to hear him share his gem of thoughts in these interviews. I watched karnan day before yesterday and it proves that mari selvaraj will hold an important place in the future of cinema. I appreciate baddy for the nice set of questions and being an excellent host. Thanks film companion south for this wonderful interview.

After watching Karnan, my admiration for Mari Selvaraj which started with Pariyerum Perumal, just quadrapled! Love from Karnataka!!
He is a beautiful craftsman. He knows his craft and beautifully conveys the message. It's almost like he is a poet 😍. Abstractly taken. Pariyerum Perumal is almost like a painting. We can pick more details everytime we watch. Caste system should be abolished.
