From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Up”) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney•Pixar’s original movie “ Inside Out,” he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all-inside the mind.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
Two things I noticed:
1. From what we can see of the mom's "memories" (those colored orbs in the background), she seems to have a pretty calm demeanor. I don't see a single red orb back there.
2. This is actually quite perfect because the emotions in the parents' minds are a well-oiled machine. They're generally on the same level with each other and everything's in control. In Riley's growing mind, however, her emotions seem to be having a hard time getting along and maintaining peace and understanding each other.
Pixar, this is why I love you again and again. :D
Have you seen the new inside out yet?

0:33 He is 'watching' Ice hockey in his mind.
In the UK version of the trailer, he is watching soccer instead.
Pixar really knows how to localize, eh ;)
Really?! Wow
IKR! I watched this trailer on IMDB and yes, he was watching soccer :D
Interesting, i wonder will they localise the final versions of the film or have one master version :) .
IchBinEin in russia, soccer was playing him.
Please, I'd like to know if they use the Brazilian (almost) boyfriend/ helicopter pilot in every country.
Damn this movie is almost 10 years old
Please don't😭😭
😭 why you making me feel old
And today WE ARE GETTING THE 2ND PART 😀!!!
You're making me feel very old😭😭😭😭
I FEEL ICKY
I vividly remember watching this trailer when It was uploaded, and 9 years later, as of today Inside Out 2 is finally in theaters. It’s a little scary how fast time went by since this trailer came out.
I must say, this concept is a fairly interesting one.
I find it funny that the dad's mind is more like a military base while the mom's and child's respective brains look more casual.
I look forward to the final product with anticipation.
The idea and concept about this movie is just incredible, hats off and props to the directors, if they did this sober or under the influence I don’t care, incredible animation, and all adults should watch this.
Who's here after the first trailer of "Soul"?

I'm revisiting this after watching the second movie a few days ago. Absolute classic
Only saw a two minute scene and I already love this movie. Nice job Pixar!

I'm gonna rewatch this before I watch the Inside Out 2. Never thought we'd get a part 2.
I never thought that we would get inside out 2 and it's coming out in a few days
Ikrr this was so unexpected
why am i watching this 6 days before the second one comes out 😂😂
Because you can’t wait to see the second movie.
HAHAHHA SAME
it seems like all the emotions are united i the parents minds. They don't argue with each other. Meanwhile, in Rileys mind all emotions seem to have different opinions and arguing with each other. Maybe that's something about the story. The emotions need to be united and form her personality. Meanwhile is the process of growing up.
Haha haha I am from the future and that's not even close
@@Som3D uhh yeah it is?
Watch the movie. It all makes sense when you watch it.
Sorry I was wrong I just now realised its actually very close, yes the emotions need to unite after they get lost
Wow cool
Staying cautiously optimistic. Don't pull a Cars 2 on me Pixar.

I love how sadness drives the Mom and anger drives the Dad.
When this movie came out I was 8, now i'm 17, I don't feel fine to known that this important movie to me is almost 10 YEARS OLD, this type of nostalgia is killing me!
And yes, today 16/06/24, I have watched the sequel, and I'm glad to Say that is a Masterpiece as they first movie.
2:05 Subtitles: Come fly with me catching yeah [Applause]
What the heck? 😂
The actual movie: Come. Fly with me, _gatinha._
I'm just trying to imagine what it would be like looking at the emotions of a teen playing a competitive video game like DotA 2 or CS: GO.
OMG STOP HAHA
FIRE THE FOOT
Brae Southern
or Anger making the player do a ragequit.
I just hope that at least one of the emotions will yell "WE THREW OUT HIS NAME!!!"
Just saw Inside Out 2 two days ago. I wish I had saw this one in theaters in 2015.
Inside Out: The only disney movie where everyone is just a mind controlled by little people in their heads like robots.
Watching in 2024, inside out 2 is coming out on june 14th, they definitely slept on waiting 5 days to release it the same day as the first!!
0:30 look at sadness he is supposed to be sad but there he is the most happiest one
1:53 too
Anyone not going to mention that the emotions of the father and mom have the same features of the parents?
Mom: Ponytail and glasses
Dad: The mustache.
1:51 Foot is down! The foot is down!
this movie came out 9 years ago and yet the animation doesn’t look too different than in the 2nd one.
I know the premise to this movie is the little girl (Riley) moving into a new town, and struggling with life..and after some serious thinking, I think I have an idea of what this movie is going to be about. Alright, so..notice how in the parent's brains their emotions are all agreeing with one another, and conforming under one leader? While, inside Riley's mind, everything is bonkers for control, and who gets to do what? I think this whole movie is about how Disgust and Anger think they have the most control in this mind, and Joy and the others don't seem to like it. While Riley is battling the real-world, the emotions in her head battle for dominance as Riley's main emotion, the one she usually turns to. Maybe they all have their own unique way they think Riley should grow up, like Anger thinks Riley should be mean and nasty, but assertive to get what she wants, while Fear thinks she should be sheltered and afraid to step out of her comfort zone. I really do think this movie is going to revolve around some sort of power struggle, and either Anger or Disgust is going to be the antagonist; but not exactly doing bad things, just trying to live life the way they think could protect the girl they live inside of.
Just thinking is all..this movie has great possibilities, and I am sooo excited for it!
Anyone here in 2024?
Hii!
MEE
9 years later and this is still funny lol
I watched the inside out 2 movie and i watched this now😂
Same I saw it and I wanted to watch this bc I thought disgust was new
Looking at the release date it’s close to inside out 2s release date
I love that little miscommunication thing between the parents. That's hilarious and I love that you get to see what both are thinking about and how the act and react. The whole thing is just great
One of the greatest animated movies of all time
My third favorite Pixar movie
Thank you Pete Docter
,,Take her to the moon for me. Okay?"
Anyone notice the "Console Room" or "HQ" for each person was different?
The Dad had like a military base
The Mom had one that sort of looked like a library
and Riley had a console that was in the sky
This is late but I think the reason why their emotions lead are like that is because it represents a typical family. Riley's parents leading emotion represents the typical mother and father traits. Sadness for her mother because mothers are nurturing and sensitive to their family and her father is anger as he also shows strictness (but most of the time he's also fun). On the other hand, Riley's still a kid or it maybe she's just really a happy person, hence, her leading emotion is joy.
I have to wonder if the old "Cranium Command" attraction that used to be at Epcot was the inspiration of this.
The animation on Disgust is fantastic.
1:01 No one knows after 9 years the name of the background music what the first trailer reveals?
it’s keep on looking by the dap kings
@@Wafflesfrfr1 Thank you very much ✨
And the instrumental drums make me a little curious.
I love how the main emotion of the mother is Sadness.
It crazy it been 9 years
The emotion in the center of the table seems to be the default state that the character is in. The mom's is sadness (probably because she is thinking about her daughter's first day of school) while the dad's is anger which is probably due to him thinking about his current life situation all the time (or in the clip they showed him thinking about hockey). The daughter's central emotion was hard to see but I believe it was anger as well. I guess it will make more sense when the movie comes out.
Just watched this movie for the first time.. I'm 19, turning 20 soon and I almost balled like 3 times lol
It's a nice touch that the adults emotions work together, and the teenagers emotions are fighting and all over the place just like reality.
The fact that today is 2024 and inside out 2 is almost out 😂
Edit:omg 3 likes all ready!!
It's already out like 2 months ago
@@proscyther_DED ik i meant like on disney + or other platforms
Why is this recommended 9 years later?
Anybody notice that on this channel, the characters in the dad's mind were watching a hockey game, but on the Movieclips Channel they were watching a soccer game?
Apparently Americans don't like Soccer, or other countries don't like Hockey.
I noticed, I thought I was going crazy...
Dogman15 We LOVE soccer not hate it.
Dogman15 Ice Hockey isn't a very popular sport in the United Kingdom - we call soccer football and have slightly different rules...plus, the word football does kind of make more sense than soccer. :p I would like to see an Ice Hockey game sometime though.
And ice hockey isnt a popular sport in the us xD
"for this we gave up that brazilian helicopter pilot", thanks wholesome family friendly disney for more perverse cartoons
Who’s here after the release of inside out 2
If I were to give my take on the movies I believe there should've been more of a storyline. Similar to Toys Story and Toys Story 2 etc. Even though the movie wasn't solely focused on Andy there was a lot more scenery and a storyline that didn't seemed rushed. For example, in Toys Story they showed Pizza Planet, Grocery Store, and so many locations. In Inside Out 2, the movie instantly jumped into the emotions trying to control the girls mind and a brief summary of her being in a classroom. There should've been more story line of when the 3 best friends met and slowly transition. Show them walking down the hall, being in class and the teacher talking about emotions, show the final bell ringing and the girls walking out of school talking about hockey. I would rate the movie 8 out of 10.
It's ironic that, for a movie focusing on a GIRL'S inner emotions, its trailer showcases more of her parents' emotions!
I guess they don't want to give away too much about Riley's emotions. they're just giving us an idea of the movie using the parents.
isn't one of the rules of advertising anything is to "leave them wanting more"?
You Keep Saying Irony, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means
Anger is my favorite character.
You should not judge a movie by only seeing the trailer. For instance, the main scene of this trailer has a sad background. The movie is a funny and deep story with true meaning, in my opinion.
Anyone notice how the main emotions in the parents were Sadness and Anger in the mom and dad? But they were both mature and controlled as well as having their own stations and working together actively? And that in the dad, the right hand man to his anger was fear and for the mom, all the emotions got more equal time. But in the kid, everyone kinda fought/randomly took over and Joy was the main one in control?
I like it.
Very sneaky Pixar/Disney, and pretty brilliant.
This move hit me in all of my feels. I rarely cry at movies, but this was a brilliant film.
I finally got the chance to see this movie today and... I have to admit, despite the fact that I'm 14, that I loved it! It was one of the cleverest and most fascinating animated movies i've ever seen due to the innovative concept of the plot. You shouldn't miss it because it's probably the best film of the year. I really hope that they considered making a sequel.
you wish came true
Yo there’s a part two
Wow, I don't think I could ever be a writer at Pixar, their writing is way to clever and smart.
I loved how they managed to enthrall us with only one scene.
this is thoroughly genius, I love this kind of creativity
I love how the mom and dad emtions are all dressed up in costum
"SIR, reporting high levels of SAAASS!"
Take it to defcon 2
Definitely one of the best and smartest animations ever!
I used to be 12 when this came out but then the second movie came out 2l
I like how in this trailer the father watches hockey, and in the others he watches football.
So we have little guys guiding us inside our heads, I wonder if there are also littler guys inside the little guys's heads guiding them, and so on until..string particles deciding what happens with nature and reality.
Thank you Pixar 😘
It’s been 4 years time is moving fast

Just saw this movie, it was so sweet! I don't think I ever cried that much at the movies at some parts! I think Pixar did a great job!

So an ordinary man from the USA's mind looks like a war room?
I'm sure that fits the perception of most of the world. Thanks alot, Pixar.
I like how this deals with the idea of depression and the other emotions that are just kind of un explainable
One of the greatest mysteries of childhood: what goes on inside someone's head?
That would just make things so much simpler!
alright, digging this trailer much more than the others I've seen. Looks good!

Anyone else find it interesting the main or "leader" emotion in the mom and dad are sadness and anger respectively while Riley's is joy, apparently?
I think my inner Leslie Knope would be on overdrive 24/7 if I had Special Agent Dale Cooper for a father.

Anyone here in after watching inside out 2 ?
I saw the 2nd film last night and it was amazing. Gotta love all the emotions including Anxiety, Embarrasment, Envy, Ennui and Nostalgia.
Yes I do
Looks exactly like the animated short "Brain Divided" by Josiah Haworth, Joon Shik Song & Joon Soo Song. Wonder if they're working on the project or if Disney/Pixar just ripped-off their idea.
Every story told since ancient times has been ripped off by someone, improved upon, exaggerated, then retold. People haven't enjoyed them less because of it.
Brain Divded was created in 2013. Inside Out has been in the works since 2009.
great minds think alike
There was actually the Disney wartime short Reason and Emotion that Brain Divided resembles more.
Even down to the fact that they both use keys to do a specific emotion. Heck the art style very vaguely looks reminiscent to the short, though not by much.
Fear (dads head):we've reported high level of sass
Me:well Percy we've met your match
i feel so old now..
I've been wondering for some time now if animators have been studying Dr Ekman's work on facial expressions. After seeing this trailer, I'm certain of it! Nice work. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie.
I'm calling it, Sadness will end up being this movie's hero.
I'll mark your words on that
I think Joy's gonna be the hero.
Andrew Shuboy Well I guess we BOTH were correct.
@@Batman1989King Well?
typical clueless, bumbling dad stereotype.
***** It's what sells. Reverse the roles in the clip and there would be riots. It's unbelievable.
***** My first thoughts excactly. I have such great respect for Pixar, but this asinine portrayal of both genders is just a wasted oppurtunity. They could have made the dad a hardass, but with real life compassion and feelings on the inside, or made the mother a super happy strong woman, but with inherent grief on the inside.
What we're left with though, is just two completely one dimensional stereotypes, who, without a doubt, will both morph into some sort of Pixar-perfect human being by the end of the movie, still with no fears or flaws or anything.
***** I'm just hoping they would be real well-developed characters in the movie, but yeah this trailer does leave a little negative impression.
mindwarp12 No, you would have a memorable character like Lucy from "I love Lucy".
***** True, you can't trust Hollywood to 'take a risk' to do something right, but then again this is Pixar we're talking about. The creativity I saw on the other trailer is so wonderful that I think the overall feel of this movie is on the right track. I'm a little concerned too, but I think we're justified in hoping.
Sometimes, that movie it' so funny. I like to watch the classic movies using the boxxy software.
9 years later, Riley goes to the camp for 3 days and her mom only gets the response "good"

I love Sadness she looks cute I can't wait to see her personality.
"That could have been a disaster."
"Well that was a disaster."
Really? I thought it went pretty well.
It's like Herman's Head meets Monster's Inc. I love it.
Whos here after the second movie trailer? Hahahaha
