I would recommend The invisible life of Addie LaRue by Victoria Schwab, it's a little historical, a little fantastical, has a tame romance plot and the writing is beautiful Oh my god I just saw The simple wild on your list, that book is amazing, one of my favorites, be ready to cry. It was wholesome and like you said a great palette cleanser
Mom of a trans woman and I am so scared. Thank you for the distraction and your beautiful smile, which makes me happy. I found you from your colab with Carrie (who I adore) and I'm so glad. Thanks Carrie!
Honestly my mental health has been so bad the past two days. It's not even the politics that made it as bad as it is. I know the outcome but have been avoiding media in general because I can't take negativity rn. I'm just struggling so badly. But this video did help me ignore those thoughts for at least a little bit so thank you Sierra.
As a fantasy lover who also didn’t enjoy ACOTAR I highly recommend the Mistborn series! Such an amazing magical system with a lil romance but not the main focus.
Not me scavenging trough the comments to get more fantasy titles to read..😂a pity I already read the mistborn series! ( Loved it btw ♥️) I will definitely look up what else Sanderson wrote!
@@lellysama If you go to his website, there's more info on reading order/background into for some of the books. After I read Mistborn I went straight into the Stormlight Archive and loved it!
Many people have already mentioned him and it’s not urban fantasy or romantasy, but Brandon Sanderson is one of my favorite fantasy authors! Interesting world building and fun unique magic systems. The Mistborn series is a great starting point as lots of people mentioned, but if you want a more approachable option to test out if his writing style is for you, I couldn’t recommend Tress and the Emerald Sea more!
A great underrated fantasy series is the All Souls series. It starts with Discovery of Witches. It’s set in modern times, has an actual adult main character, has elements of historical fiction, and of course witches and vampires. Plus it’s not as new so it’s a complete series.
I love the red skirt outfit! So pretty! But I agree with the dress...if you're fussing with it now, you'll fuss with it all the time you wear it! It would be exhausting lol!
Girl the body is TEAAA!! The dress looked so good! I also have insecurity with my stomach so I totally understand not wanting to keep but it you looked AMAZING!
VE SCHWAB!!! Her fantasy philosophy is to make it accessible by taking things just one step outside of the real world. The shades of magic series is my favorite magic system and my favorite characters!
You might be interested in A Darker Shade of Magic by VE Schwab or The Priory of the Orange Tree for books that are fantasy but focus a lot of the world and systems etc.
I think you’d like house in the cerulean sea by TJ Klune. I would say it’s lite fantasy- a fairly normal society but just with the inclusion of some magical kids. The only thing I can knock it for was that it was a little too wholesome, like sickly sweet vibes.
You might like Mistborn!! Well written fantasy, lots of lore to learn, really unique magic system, and on of my favorite romances throughout the trilogy! It’s definitely a subplot romance but I love mistborn so much!
I haven't watched in months bcos I have a 7 month old & a 17 month old and life if hectic 😅 but I've been feeling a little down confidence wise at my heaviest since having her I feel like I needed this as dramatic as that sounds. You have such a reassuring body positive presence and it's so appreciated 🫶🏻 Ps the skirt + bodysuit combo looked so cute I'm literally ab to order it rn
I also had stopped the ACOTAR and fourth wing after the first book. But I wanted to recommend this adorable real world fantasy series that started with “Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries” I finished the first two books and preordered the third book! It’s a really cute series so far. The main character is a fairy researcher and it’s definitely a slow burn but not spicy romance. I feel like the writing style is really unique because it’s from the perspective of a researcher and written as her journal. I listened to the audiobook for both and the narrators are so good!
Also I LOVE my quince!!! The wheels are so smooth, the zippers never snag, and 100% great quality for the price point. I only took it once or twice on a flight so far but it has been perfect
I really think you'd like Heartless by Marissa Meyer! and if you read that and like it, she has a series of retellings of princess stories set in a kind of futuristic sci-fi setting that I ADORE and I think you might like them too!! (they're retellings of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White)
I learned this from an ex that worked with clothing manufacturing they lay multiple layers of fabric then cut the pattern so the first few layers will be a smaller fit and the end bigger but will all will be marked the same size that’s why you can try on two different items in the same size and ones bigger and one smaller but they will both say ‘large’
You should check if your library has hoopla! Same concept as Libby but you get a certain amount of checkouts a month and you get them instantly! A good alternative for when the book you want on Libby has months and months of wait
"this is how you lose the time war" is really good but it's very floaty and not very grounded. Very flowery language as well, but the vibes are immaculate

Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson was such a fun read. It ended up being one of my top reads of the year. It seems polarizing and people really love it or not, but give it a try 😊
My favorite urban fantasy series has been the Mercy Thompson series - it’s been going since like 2006 or something, with largely standalone stories that feel more like tv seasons in that there’s good progression of the characters and over all world, but the stories are pretty self contained. It’s a really fun werewolf/vampire/fairy world with lots of politics between how those groups interact and fit in with the human world, a FANTASTIC main character, and a great romance that’s pretty slow burn over multiple books and never takes over the entire story. Highly recommend!
A good low-fantasy that crosses to sci-fi is The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown. A good historical fantasy series is the Daevabad Trilogy by Shannon Chakraborty. And actually, the author has started a new historical fantasy series which is a ton of fun called The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi. A more low fantasy/mystery hybrid is Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young. These may be more up your alley since they’re not just straight fantasy, but mixed genre fantasy books.
Just finished reading The Institute by Stephen King, I’m not into horror so this Stranger Things-esque book was perfect, and I read it faster than I’ve read any book! Kept my distracted attention every time I picked it up to read!
